TAG! YOU'RE IT!

Tags are such a fun way to share a bit of our creativity.  Here are a few tags I have made this past week.

First is my Irish fairy.  I sent her to a good friend and how perfect that she arrived today -
St. Patrick's Day!

Here is my Spring Flowers tag for the Bring on Spring Flowers swap on Addicted to Paper Dolls.

and a close-up of the fun felt flowers with
a sparkly bead center-

And for Carol's Extra Tag Swap Disney over at Paper Doll Trading I created this-

I dressed my doll just like Minnie Mouse and used some fun Disney papers and embellishments.

And finally-
for the Star Doll - Use Your Mixed Media challenge over at Paper Doll Trading I created this-

I used a back ground of 3 different colors of modeling paste that was covered with a thin coat of a sparkly Stickles and a wash of watered down white acrylic paint.

I added this cute little felt and chipboard saying

and some fun feathers and a flair button that says 'Happy'

I hope that you have enjoyed my latest paper doll creations! I'd love to hear what you think so oplease do leave a comment!

JULIE NUTTING MEETS ERTE - PLUS A FEW SWAPS!

I can't believe it has been a month since my last blog post.  Moving has really taken a toll on me physically, mentally, emotionally and creatively.  I am still in boxes floor to ceiling as the living space promised to be 900 - 910 square feet and turned out to be 812.5 square feet.  Nothing fits. And I made the huge mistake of allowing a man to assist in packing (the same one that insisted that the living space was 910 square feet when I said I knew my furniture coming out of an 850 square foot apartment was not going to fit in there!) - food mixed with cleaning goods, shoes in separate boxes (yes one shoe in one and it's mate in another)! So you get the picture...  I have furniture in the hallway and basement.  And it has been near impossible finding anything.  I have had to replace so much because I still can't unearth things from the mass of chaos.

I was able to locate a small sampling of my creative supplies and was able to work on some doll projects for some swaps I am in as well as for a project I have wanted to start since the summer.

First for the swaps -

This tag is for a swap in Addicted 2 Paper Dolls with a couples Valentine theme -

Next a tag for a Mystical/Mythical Creature swap over at Paper Doll Trading

This is my Fairy Queen.  The Fairy Queen was a figure from folklore who was believed to rule the fairies. Based on Shakespeare's influence in English-speaking cultures she is often named Titania or Mab.

I also have created a few dolls that I have not decided yet how to mount.  I may put them in an art journal or on an altered canvas after I do a few more.

The first is inspired by Erte's Alphabet Lady.

my inspiration

                     goache 1968                         bronze sculpture 1989

The next was inspired by Erte's Rose Dancer.

serigraph                                               bronze sculpture

And my library time is nearly up so for now I will say farewell!  Hopefully I will be able to create a bit more this evening and share again soon!

I'M BACK!!!!

So sorry for the long lapse in posts.  I had a wonderful trip with my son Thomas to visit a dear old friend in Nashville, TN.  We had an awesome time and I just developed 400 photos! So, you will get to eventually share in a lot of our fun and sight-seeing!

I have not gotten to do much creating but I do have a few things to share...

While I was away I found a Hobby Lobby and did a bit of shopping and I created a gift tag for Thrifty Thursday challenge over at Addicted 2 Paper Dolls.  They only had 2 dolls in stock that I didn't have.  This one is Mindy.

My next share is for the December card sketch over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles.

Here's the sketch-

and here is my card -

I am also going to enter this card over at
Word Art Wednesday for challenge #212.

and my last share for tonite is part of my package for an angel gift at church.  The gift is part of a package for an 11 year old girl whose favorite colors are pink and white.

and a few close-ups-

I hope to get back to working on my Christmas presents this week in between packing and apartment hunting.

and now I am off to bed!  Sweet Dreams!

THE CHRISTMAS FAIRY!!!

I am in a Christmas Fairy swap over at
Paper Doll Trading Facebook group.

I had fun working on this...
I used my first armoire tag!

And I used unusual materials (for the Thrifty Tursday challenge on Addicted 2 Paper Dolls Facebook group) - her skirt is this great mesh that I found at Dollar Tree and her wings are made from pointysettia leaves - also from Dollar Tree!

rhinestones on her shoes and
as drawer pulls on the armoire!

some Bo-Bunny cardstock stickers
(the hat and the banner)

  and some old Hippopotamus stickers
(the presents and the stocking)

and a K&Company tree cut from a border.

I hope that you have enjoyed seeing this fun creation and that my swap partner is going to love her too!  I am having a hard time thinking of parting with her but she goes postal in the morning!

IT'S ANOTHER MINI!!! (plus a contest win!)

Today I was able to complete another mini I created as a gift for a friend.  These were photos from a graduation party I attended last May for a friend from Minnesota.  She was here attending University of Delaware but is now home in Minneapolis.

 Obviously Kiki's Dad!

Kiki's Aunt

Thomas, Lizzy

Isn't this a wonderful group shot?

The end!

I am going to share this in
challenge #207 Anything Goes.

And a share of a tag I created for a Thrifty Thursday contest on Addicted 2 Paper Dolls. It called for creating a tag with a doll stamp that featured a tv or movie character.  I chose the Nanny - Fran Dresher as over the years many people have told me that I have looked (and sounded) like her! And...I won!

How about that 'big' hair!
Lots of spray in those days!

Hope that you have enjoyed today's creations... well actually yesterdays...but there will be some today as I am going to visit my friend Maraline tonite.
