Kissing Couple

Happy Thursday everyone!  Well...here is my first card of the year that is solely for challenges.  The digi comes from Fairydoodler's Den.  It's entitled the Kissing Couple.  I'm completed this card for their challenge and for another challenge that required you to use a song title.  I don't remember the blog. :(  I write these things down.  A short pencil is more valuable than along memory.

This card measures 5" x 5".  I embossed flowers on the background to add dimension.  The digi was colored using a combination of colored pencils and BIC Mark-it.  I simply cut the image out and then proceeded to round only two corners for a unique look.  I thought however that this image called for a little more so I cut it out using my oval Creative Memories set.  I sponged the edge with Distress Ink (Broken China and Vintage Photo).  Then, the image was mounted on a light purple cardstock and pop dotted.  I added paper flowers with a button in the middle to the bottom corner.

The other challenge that I am looking for required that a song be incorporated into the design.  Well...my distant cousin is Otis Redding and I chose his song, "I've Been Loving You," as the title for this card.  I simply typed the words on my computer and mounted them on alternating cardstock.

This card didn't take long to create. I hope you enjoy it.  Happy scrappin'!
