Happy Scrappin'!

Today's post is prescheduled as I will be at a craft show today.  Please pray for me.  This is my first show and I need the income.  Thanks!

Today at Stamp, Scrap, and Doodle Saturdays, the challenge has been issued to create a card that is monochromatic using your favorite colors.  Well, I do have two favorite colors - purple and red. I choose red.  I hope you enjoy my card.  The recipe is below.

FYI - please be sure to follow my blog if you are interested in participating in swaps starting in January 2011.  I will try to host one each month.  These swaps will be a bit unique and hopefully a LOT of fun.

Stamp, Scrap, and Doodle Saturdays

Happy Saturday everyone.  If you are looking for the Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree post, please scroll down to the next post below this one.  It's a great hop.  Hope you can join us.  If you're here from SSDS, here is this week's card.

Our challenge was to scraplift a DT card.  It didn't have to be from one of our DT sisters but just a card we liked.  I love this card from Nancy Morgan who is a part of the DT at Our Daily Bread Designs.

Here is my take on her inspiration.  My mom asked me for a card for our cousin who just got out of the hospital.  I immediately thought of this card and asked her for a scripture that she would like to feature on the front.  I made a matching envelope to go with the card.  What do you think?

Card Recipe

cardstock: Recollections
patterned paper: We R Memory Keepers Explore - Meadow
scalloped circles: cut from Mini Monograms cartridge
ribbon: Robert Stanley Collection from HL
scripture: printed on my computer cut out using the center point feature
ATG
Tea Dye distress ink

No Flowers Not Even on the Paper Challege - SSDS

Happy Saturday! It's time again for another challenge from Scrap, Stamp, and Doodle Saturdays. This week you are challenged to create something that does not have flowers anywhere on it. I created this simple birthday card using a digi from 2cuterubberstamps.  I left the inside blank so someone could write whatever they wish and inked around the edges of the layers for more contrast.

RECIPE: A2 Card base, digi, coordinating card stock, MS lattice paper punch, pop dots, sentiment stamp

Be sure to hop on over to SSDS and join in this week's challenge. It's easy and fun! While you are there checking out the dets, be sure to check out my DT sistas. They have some amazing work for your inspiration. I truly hope you enjoyed my card creation.

Fall Challenge - SSDS DT Card

SSDS - Fall DT Card

Happy Saturday!  It's time again for another challenge from Scrap, Stamp, and Doodle Saturdays. This week you are challenged to incorporate fall and whatever that means into your creation.  I used a stamp that was free from Beccy's Place. The items displayed in her digi truly represent Fall to me.

The final card is 5"x7".  I rounded the corners at the bottom only.  The leaves in the bottom corner are heat embossed using pigment ink and clear embossing powder.  The digi was colored using my handy dandy colored pencils (once again) and the few Bic Mark-Its that I possess.  The markers were used to add highlights and dimension.  I realize as I was trying to assemble the card that the elements were a bit large so I trimmed around the digi with regular scissors.  Then I realized the digi needed more. I added some heat embossed stamps to the background under the digi and round the opposite corners.  For extra accents, I cut two strips of paper, punched the edges of one side using the Fiskars apron lace punch.  Then this was embossed using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder for added texture.  I inked the top of the card because the rest of it seemed so subdued and the yellow cardstock jumped out at you.

Be sure to hop on over to SSDS and join in this week's challenge.  It's easy and fun!  While you are there checking out the dets, be sure to check out my DT sistas.  They have some amazing work for your inspiration. I truly hope you enjoyed my card creation.

SSDS Saturday Challenge

Happy Saturday!  I'm honored to present another creation for Scrap, Stamp, and Doodle Saturdays.  This week your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to create a project using more than 1 button.  That's it!  Easy as pie.  Right? I'm sorry that the image is very bright.  I just got my computer back so if I can get a better image, I'll upload it later.

This week's sponsor is Hope Jacare.  Here images are pretty cool.  You should check her out.  We were eat given a doodle to use for our DT inspiration projects.  I chose the cupcake stand.  Using my ol' faithful set of colored pencils, I colored the digi before adding it to the card.

SSDS DT Inspiration - Christmas (no red or green)

Happy Saturday!  Today's challenge over at Scrap, Stamp, and Doodle Saturdays is to create a Christmas card without using the colors red or green.  These cute digis were given to us by Torta Gialla. She is also our sponsor for this week.  The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to her shop

I hope you can see that my darling is an ice princess.  I used my colored pencils (don't have fancy Copics or any other medium) and stickles to adorn her.  Her eyes even sparkle.  The final card is 5" x 8.5". I am still digging the new tips that I learned from Momo concerning embossing.  I'm so pleased with how it turned out on this card.  The pictures don't do the card any justice.  I embossed snowflakes all over the card.  The sentiment says Merry Christmas to All.  There are hearts and stars embossed on the bottom also.  I doodled around the edge of the card to soften the edges.  Also, what ice princess could be without her bling (ice).  So, I added rhinestones around her frame.  I hope you like the card and will participate with us in this week's challenge.  Every week you guys blow me away with such great submissions.  Also, be sure to stop by and check out the other DT projects.  They are some truly talented ladies.

SSDS Challenge DT Inspiration - Sketch

Hi and welcome to another bit of inspiration for the challenge over at Scrap, Stamp, and Doodle Saturdays. This week's challenge is to create a card which follows this sketch.   Now you can flip it, rotate it, whatever you like as long as we can tell it was your starting point!  For my card I used a digi from Paper Cupcakes which is Cold Days Warm Hearts.  I used colored pencils to color the image.  I also trimmed the image with stickles for accents.  I added other accents to the card following the sketch pattern.

Our sponsor this week is My Grafico. Be sure to stop by the My Grafico store to see all the new designs. They have so much to offer! The winner will receive a digi stamp collection of their choice up to a $5 value from the My Grafico store!
