XOXO

Hiya!  Today I'm bringing you a little hugs and kisses inspiration for Valentine's day!  Can you believe it's only 10 days away?? For this project I used the new February mood board.  Lookie at all the pretty colors! I about swooned when I saw the mood board!  So many lovely colors to work with.  I don't know about you but I'm tired of the wintery gray weather.  I need some color!  This totally fit the bill. The Loving Mom  stamp set steals the show on this card!  I started by making a heart mask.  I first used the negative piece of the mask to cover the entire card front.  I stamped the main flower several times to fill up most of the space.  I used the very small leaf from the You Inspire Me  set to fill in a little bit more space and finished up with a heart outline stamp. Next I peeled the mask off and carefully placed the positive heart mask.  I took Cracked Pistachio distress oxide ink and sponged all along the edges of the mask.  I

Stretching your markers

Hello everybody! It’s Donna here and I’ve been really enjoying this new-to-me stamp set! It’s called Loving Mom  and it has the most beautiful flowers. What a pleasure to colour! I’ve used the same markers to colour all the flowers, but by varying the amounts of the darker markers, and the amount of white space left I’ve been able to get some colour variation, while keeping a very controlled colour palette. Rather than blend the brushstrokes, I’ve chosen to leave the individual strokes showing to give some texture to the petals. Once I’d coloured each of the flowers, I fussy cut them out, right on the black line, and went around the outside with a black marker to stop the white paper showing through. On a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock I ink blended Distress Oxide in Wild Honey, laying it down heavily in the middle and fading out towards the edges of the cardstock. I then glued down the archway which I cut from a die in my stash. I very quickly wove the stem of the back flo

Believe in the Magic of Christmas

Hello my fellow crafters!  Jill here on the Kennedy Grace Creations Blog sharing another December card creation.  As December winds to a close, I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas with family and/or friends.  Although Christmas is now past, I made this card last month before I realized my post would be after Christmas! To me however, Christmas is not just one day, but the beginning of forever (if you believe).  And as many crafters do, they make Christmas cards all year 'round.  So this is especially for those of you who never get tired of seeing or making Christmas cards. You may recognize the wreath element in my card and the background technique I used on this card.  I used an Antique Linen   Distress Oxide pad and dragged it down the length of the cardstock several times to create a wooden door or panel look.  Then, I wanted to show how you can totally change the look of your card/wreath simply by changing up your ink colors (see my November Mood Board card for

Tags abound

Hiya to all the crafty people who are stopping by at the Kennedy Grace Creations blog today.  I'm here with a bit of a treat.  I have LOTS of tags to show you.  The best part is that I'm showing different ways to use the same stamp sets.  I hope this gets you thinking! When I first started on my project the only thing I really had in my mind was that I wanted to make tags and I wanted to use some of the gorgeous Kennedy Grace Creations sequins.  I mean, have you looked at all the different sequins they have available?? Let's dive right in to the first set. Look at all the pretty sequins!  Let's take it tag by tag so I can give you all the details. I started by cutting out a piece of cream colored cardstock with a stitched die.  This was not intended to be a tag but I punched out a hole and instant tag!  I stamped the floral image from Grace's Little Note  and heat embossed it in silver.  I masked it and sponged on Antique Linen distress oxide ink.

Grateful for our Friendship

Hello friends, it's Jill here on the Kennedy Grace Creations Blog to present a card I made using the Kennedy Grace Creations November Mood Board as my inspiration.  This card is called, Grateful for our Friendship , because life is truly so much better with friends!  It showcases how you can stretch your stamp sets to be used for the holidays even though they are not holiday stamps.  I primarily used the KGC stamp set You Inspire me   to make this card.  I first prepped my card panel with Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink (DOI) by dragging the pad down in vertical stripes to create what looks like a weathered wood panel door.  I then lightly traced a circle the size that I wanted my wreath to be and then used 3 of the small images from the stamp set (small leafy branch x 2, and the 3 dots) to make my wreath.  I used mostly Distress Oxide inks, inking each stamp one color and stamping it around the circle, then changing colors and again stamping around the circle, tur

October Mood Board Shaker Card

Hello, this is Jill on the Kennedy Grace Creations blog with a card created for October with our Mood Board as inspiration.  I used a stamp set originally tailored for Moms/Mother's Day, etc. as I loved the flower image and always thought it would make a great shaker type card.  It's called Loving Mom .   I only used the largest flower image on this card and took my cues on coloring it from the mood board. First I die cut a circle into an A2 sized 80# NSW card stock using a MFTs Die- Circle Shaker Window and Frame set.  I knew I'd be using a MFTs Circle Shaker Pouch , so the sizing of the circle die was perfect for the pouch.  I then stamped the 4 flower images around the die cut window and placed masks over each one, as I was going to color the background with some Distress Oxide inks .  As I sometimes like to do, I had already practiced the background on another piece of lesser quality card stock since I wasn't exactly sure how it would look.  I used first T

Grateful

Hi there everyone!  Welcome to the beautiful month of October!!  I'm kicking off the month with a brand new Mood Board to get your creative juices flowing.  Take a look at this fabulous inspiration picture. Isn't it just gorgeous??  So many things in this picture just jump out at me and it was hard to decide which direction to go.  I chose to work with the Beautiful Blooms-Sweet Rose stamp set.  It's so pretty and verstile!  I stamped the rose image twice on a white piece of cardstock with black ink.  Then I was stumped.  Yep.  Total creative block!  I hate when that happens.  I think the wide open white spaces cause my mind to go blank sometimes.  Anywho, I decided to walk away and come back later. During my break I watched a few YouTube card videos and scoured through Pinterest.  My almost favorite thing to do when I'm not crafting.  Ah ha, I saw something that got me thinking.  I returned to my desk.  I grabbed a scrap piece of transparency I had laying arou

I'm back!

Hello! Erica back on the blog today after a few weeks hiatus due to a house move. Nothing as dramatic as a hurricane thank goodness for me, but still very disruptive. I hope everyone affected by hurricanes, storms and floods are getting things sorted with cleanups, insurance claims and rebuilding. I've not had much luck getting my craft room sorted after the move but I managed to make a card and write this blog post, which feels like a major win. It's only been 2 weeks since we moved in after all. Right, well, seeing as I still have stuff all over the place I should try keeping this short and sweet so I can keep organising the house. I started out with stamping the  Splendid Roses  on Copic friendly card stock and coloured that with bright pinks and fuchsia markers. I must admit this is not my finest colouring job but it sure is bright! Once I was done colouring it, I fussy cut the image out and set it aside. For my background, I used a Hero Arts stencil and some

Distress Oxide fun

Hi, hi, hello! Erica on the blog with another super simple, but rather eye-catching, card. Recently I got the second lot of Distress Oxide inks and ooooh, that Picked Raspberry... L-O-V-E!! Well, I simply had to use it on several projects right away because #lovepink, am I right? Getting a piece of smooth water colour card stock out, as well as arming myself with Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet and Fossilized Amber in the Distress Oxide inks too because options. Right-o, I basically went to town with blending and adding colour as I wanted the background really, REALLY vivid. Once I was happy it was colourful enough, I spritzed some water drops on it and lifted that off with a piece of kitchen roll. To hurry up the drying process, I used my heat gun on it until it was bone dry so I could run it through my Big Shot with a stitched die. Then it was time to add images and sentiments. As my plan was to heat emboss the image in white on vellum I picked the one I think makes the bigges

Heartfelt Thanks with Erica

Hello, Erica back on the blog today. I've swapped a day with poor Rachel who has done her back in but she's going to cover one of my dates while I'm moving house at the end of the month and beginning of next. A Thank You card seemed appropriate for today's post with that in mind. I stamped up the lovely bloom from  Just A Rose  and coloured it in with my Copic markers. I wanted a light and bright look so I used a flicking motion and left plenty of white space on the petals. The leaves I did in a similar manner but the stamens in the middle got a dark pink colour. I fussy cut the flower out and added foam tape to the back of it while I was in a cutting frenzy. Once that was done I set it aside and started on the background. Grabbing my new Distress Oxide inks I blended some green shades all over a card panel. My first idea was to stamp up some leaves on it and make it look like a rose bush on which the flower would sit. I decided on trying something new inste
