Artful Sentiments by Kimm BT Copic Challenge

It is Saturday and that means Artful Sentiments by Kimm BT Copic Challenge. The colors this week are: Y15, YG06 and V06 Lucky me I had them all this week.

I used a Mo's Digital Pencil freebie from a few weeks ago for this color challenge. Check this out:

I don't think that Bronte the dog is very happy with his cat costume, do you? Bella reminds me of the reason that Halloween is my favorite holiday. Little kids are so happy and love dressing up and I love seeing them all have so much fun.

I hope you all have a great week-end. I hope to get some coloring done ahead but there is a Husker football game and it may be one of the last really nice week-ends so need to get my perenniels winterized, but we will see.

Check back tomorrow you just never know what I am going to find to show you.

Go check out what the other design team members have come up with for this challenge with some of my favorite colors.

See you later,

Cathy

Artful Sentiments by Kimm BT Copic Challenge and Friday Hanna Stamps Challenge Card!

Today I have used a really cute Mo's Digital Pencil image "End of Summer" for the Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge. The colors we were supposed to use were YR18, G99, and E29. No problem this week I had them all :)

Don't you just love this image. I thought it turned out so cute with the fall colors. I created the flowers using a tutorial that Lisa Cook, fellow DT member of Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Team had on her blog last week.

I used some dp that came in a fall scrapbook paper pack at Target in the 1.00 bin. The Fiskars border punch added just a touch of elegance to the image and other than the ribbon and flowers I kept it pretty simple. I prefer to always make the image the focal point of the card.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Artful Sentiments DT blogs for their creations for this week.

**********

I also have the Friday Hanna Stamps Weekly challenge project for you today. Cindy was the hostess of the challenge this week and it was to make a Halloween treat bag or topper or something treat package related.

I used my pillow box die cut from SU cut out of brown cs. I had colored this darling Goth Riley in Halloween colors and used an oval spellbinder die cut and Oval scalloped die cut to mount the Riley image on. I punched holes in the top and bottom of the oval to thread the orange ribbon through.

The Happy Halloween sentiment was created using a rectangle spellbinder die cut and then cutting it in half again to get the long narrow tag. I always try to find ways to use what I have to create what I want to make if I can.

Be looking for a couple of Geisha Hanna Stamp images next week so keep checking back.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week-end planned. I plan to get a lot of coloring done!!!

Happy Coloring!

Mo's little Cookie Monster freebie

Earlier this week Mo's Digital Pencil on Paper Craft Planet surpassed 400 members and when we reach these milestones Mo rewards the Group with a free image. This one is so cute....yeah I know they are all cute!!!

Louis is having a cookie snack after playing with his orange front end loader. Bronte thinks that he can sneak a lick of the cookie, yet that 's his tongue sticking out trying to snitch a bite. Can you believe that Mo always created such detailed images even for her free images. I even added cookie crumbs on Louis's mouth he he!

If you haven't been to Mo's Digital Pencil site you need to head over there. I don't just say that because I am on the DT, if I hadn't gotten chosen for the DT I would still be there. I can afford digital images and Mo creates daily and each one is more imspiring that the last one. It is almost impossible to pick a favorite design as each new one becomes a favorite :)

I will have another Mo's Digital Pencil design called End of Summer that I created for the Artful Sentiment Copic Challenge on Saturday so look for it tomorrow!!! I really like the way it turned out even if I do say so myself :)

Gotta go color, I am really looking forward to my week-end and lots of creatin!!!

Happy Coloring!

Artful Sentiments by KimmBT Copic Challenge

Saturday means Artful Sentiments by Kimm BT Copic Challenge. Well, I couldn't decide what to do for this challenge until I saw the Fall Freebie at KLM Digital Designs group on Paper Craft Planet, it's free to join. Perfect for this challenge to use YG63, Y26, and V95. I had the YG63, Y26, and V06 so I went with that for this beautiful fall flower:

Purple is not usually my color of choice, thus the challenge :). I used the V06 for the flower petal section closest to the center of the flower and used V00 for the tip which I also highlighted with some white gel pen.

In retrospect, after seeing the copic markers in Kimm's post, my chart from Copic doesn't show the V95 as a light grape color but darker which is why I went with the V06. Oh, well I still like it!

The leaves are colored with BG63, which is one of my favorite greens to use, and highlighted with G99 and G85.

The flower center is colored with the Y26 mustard and highlighted with E25. Dotted with black Copic micro pen and white gel pen.

I didn't really want to distract too much from the image so I just went around the outside border of the purple dp layer with my double row cuttle bee.

To play along and see what the other DT members have to show you be sure to go to Artful Sentiments by Kimm BT Copic Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by,

Catch ya later,

Cathy

Monkey Business and Artful Sentiments Copic challenge card

First I have a darling little money just monkeying around from Mo's Digital Pencil. I thought this would be so cute for a kids card or a Hang in there card for someone who needs a smile. Who wouldn't smile at this little character?
Colored with copic markers and sponged with Tim Holtz distress ink. A piece of brown checked ribbon and this cute little card is ready to add a sentiment when I decide to send it.
************
I used Mo's Digital Pencil Chubby fairy 1 for the Artful Sentiments by Kimm BT Copic Challenge this week. The colors we were to use were RV25, R59, and Y38. Can you believe that I have 150 copic markers and I didn't have any of those three markers. I got out my handy dandy copic color chart, that I received as part of my registration packet when I took the Copic Certification Class last year. I used Y35, RV04 and R39. They are only a shade or two off the listed markers.

I used the RV04 as my main fairy frock color and shaded in with the R39. The magic wand and the fairy's hair are colored with the Y35. She just makes me believe that we can do anything, how about you?
A few brown dew drops and brown satin ribbon and my Chubby Fairy is ready to fly!
Today starts my new work schedule. I have to go to work at 1 and get off at 7pm. Monday I start going in at 10 a.m. and work till 5:00 p.m.
Just an update on my friend Cathy Tidwell, she's home and doing much better. She still has some recovering to do but it is sooooo good to see that she is able to make cards again and is back posting on her blog. Welcome back Cat!!!
See you guys tomorrow night. Thanks for stopping by.

Artful Sentiments Saturday Copic Challenge

The colors this week for the Artful Sentiments by KimmBT Copic Challenge are: BV04, V15, and Y21. I had the Y21 and the BV04 and substituted BV02 for the V15. The image is from KLM Digital Designs and worked perfectly for this color challenge. I used the Y21 for the main wing color on the butterfly and the two purple colors for the beautiful flower.
I used the "out of the box" layout for the flower so that you could actually see some of the dp and not just so much white background space. The sponging was done with dusty concord distress ink by Tim Holtz. The sentiment was stamped using Just Rite alpha on a Spellbinder label 4 small label that was sponged before being removed from the die.
I wanted to add just a bit of sparkle and found these tiny gold rimmed gems in my stash. They were perfect .
I didn't have any ribbon that matched my copic colors so I colored the white grosgrain ribbon with my BV04 copic marker to match the flower.
Be sure that you stop by the other DT members blogs and see what wonderful projects they have come up with these colors. Their's are usually more traditional than mine :) It is just about impossible for me to color with only one or two copic colors. I always use at least 4-5 colors for shading but for Kimm I try to be good.
Have a great week-end and thanks for stopping by.
Tomorrow I will have my first sneak peek for the Artistic Outpost release on Monday. Be sure to stop by and see what I have been up to all month getting ready. See you tomorrow.

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge

Yep, it is Saturday and time for the Artful Sentiment by Kimm BT Copic Challenge. The colors this week are YG03, YG17, and G99 yes ,all green.

I found this darling image from Dustin Pike perfect for Halloween, which is coming all too soon, and decided the Beware could be slime and that would be green :)

Isn't he just too cute to be scarey. I added a little purple for the monster and cs.

Be sure to check out the other DT members blogs for their projects for this color challenge.

Not much to add about the card, pretty self explanatory. Oh, I about forgot that I was in Hobby Lobby getting glass etching creme and found a template sheet for different scalloped, curvy, straight edges in dots, dashes and lines. For this project I used the scallop dots and wavey dots. A white gel pen and I have a nice even (key word) edge.

Well, I have to keep working on projects, still trying to catch up with stuff since I was gone for 4 days. You don't realize how much you do each day until you are gone for 4 days, but it was so nice and much needed mini vacation :)

Talk to you tomorrow.

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge

Sorry for the delay in posting my Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge but I have been traveling today to see my newest Granddaughter, then I had some internet connection issues. Thank you to whomever I am stealing the WiFi connection from :)

I really liked this fall arrangement of pumpkins that will be available at KLM Digital Designs September 1. Nice thing about being on a Design Team is I get to see and play with the new stuff first :)

I colored the image with copic markers, of course that is the challenge name :). I don't usually add too many embellishments as I want the image to be the focal point of the card. I did add a green checked ribbon that I tied through the button holes as well. I added the Fall letters that I bought at Michael's a couple of weeks ago, they are supposed to look like antique typewriter keys.

I will be in Kansas for a couple of more days so expect to see pictures of the new baby tomorrow :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Multi -challenge Card

Last night I was trying to find an image that I wanted to use for the Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge this week. I was really struggling with the colors. I didn't have any images that I wanted to color lavendar, bright blue and bright yellow :) I was searching through the wonderful Digi Shack for inspiration. I went to the blog and I didn't think I found what I was looking for for that but there was this wonderful "free" apple basket, can't ever turn down a wonderful free image so I downloaded it.

This morning I decided to forgo the bright blue and use the lavender and yellow on the apple basket. I guarantee you that they are there :) The DigiShack is also the host company for the Tuesday Sketch Challenge this week so I decided to follow the sketch with the apple basket and accomplish two challenges at once. Yippee!
Image was colored with copic markers and on the striped dp I stamped maple leaves with Momento London Fog ink. Nothing really unusual about the card details but it sure was fun!
Thanks for looking and have a great rest of the day!
See you tomorrow.

GingerChef Recipe Book--Artful Sentiments byKimm BT Copic Challenge

This was so much fun to make, I really contemplated what to do with the brown earth tones that were the copic color challenge this week. I looked through my flowers, if I did them brown, they would look familiar to me but maybe no one else would like them:). I was about to give up and while surfing the web at some of my favorite sites I went to Dustin Pike's site, I saw this cute Gingerbread chef and knew it was perfect, since it was a free download, even more perfect.

The image was colored with the copic markers that I had E31, E35, E33 and E37

The candy cane rope was created using a red and a white piece of tiny rick rack. I just braided them around each other and stapled them under the buttons.

The file folder is a Quikutz die that I really like to make these tiny books, the pages were sponged and then bound together with jewelry jump rings that I had in my stash. You need to make sure that they are big enough to tie the assorted colorful ribbons around them and not impede the book opening.

I bought a Just Rite alphabet set last week and that is what I used for the words. I usually print out what I want on the computer but that wastes a lot of cs unless I print a whole bunch of phrases at the same time and I never seem to size them right the first time :( so I have to reprint them a couple of times to get it right, with the Just Rite letters.

Hope you like the project today, be sure to check out the other DT members blogs for their samples. Have a great week-end. See you tomorrow.

Queen of the Parking Lot!--Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge

Happy Saturday!!!

Time for another Artful Sentiments by Kimm BT Copic Challenge. The colors this week are RV25 YG03 and V06. Here comes Granny!!!:

I just love this image from GinaK Designs from the You know you're Old When... It was in my very first order from GinaK Designs almost two years ago. Still a great go to set for a silly card.

I didn't have all the copic colors this week but I came close. I had RV23 which was the pink that I used for her hair and dress. I used YG03 as the second color on the car and V06 is the lavendar used for the shading on Granny's hair.

I used my marvy scalloped oval punch to punch out the main image. and used my plain oval nestie for the black circle and larger scalloped oval nestie for the lavendar scalloped oval. The lavendar dp is from a recycled stack pack I got at WalMart which I added a neat border with a MS border punch.

I needed to incorporate the green from the car so I added green brads and a green grosgrain ribbon.

The crown is my favorite touch. Tim Holtz has a new line of mini masks and the crown is one that I got last week. I really like the Tim Holtz masks but the majority of them are huge and perfect for scrapbook pages.

It may have been a little odd to merge the vintage elements with the very "hip" granny but it was fun. When you are a Granny you can do what you want, and I qualify.

Hope you have a great week-end. Be sure to stop by the other DT members blogs and check out their interpretation of the colors for this week.

See you later,

Cathy

Artful Sentiments Weekly Copic Challenge #17

Well, it is Saturday and that means Kimm BT's Artful Sentiiments Copic Challenge for this week.

I had a little trouble with this one, I am not really a pink person as a main color. I guess that is why they call them challenges :) The challenge was to use R20, R83, RV00 and another pink of your choice, Okay, I had R20 R32 and BV00 and that was as close as I could get. I have a Copic Color Chart so the colors aren't as far off as the numbers may appear.

Here is the card that I came up with:

I used My Cuppa Joe stamp set from GinaK Designs, designed by Rupa Shevde, that I just love.

I made this a long card that would fit in a business size envelope. This is a size that I really like but very seldom do. Maybe I was just too lazy to cut my stamped images apart but we'll go with the first reason :)

I colored the cups using the copic gradiant technique. I used the two pinks and the lavendar all on each cup. I then mounted the cup panel on lavender cs, punched a border along top and bottom of a hot pink piece of cs and placed it on an angle on the pink checked dp that was sponged with Tim Holtz worn lipstick distress ink and dusty concorde distress ink.

I don't use my large spot eyelets very often but they are so easy to set with the crop-o-dile so I decided to get carried away with them. The sentiment was punched out with the SU scalloped circle punch and after tying a ribbon under the main panel, my card was complete.

I used all the colors, yeah me! Check out the other DT girls blogs( their blogs are listed on my sidebar) and see what they came up with for today, I know you will like what you see, they are a very talented bunch. There is a new DT Member, welcome Shelley that I still need to add to my DT blog list, sorry Shelley :)

Have a great day. I am off to Bailey's 2nd Birthday party at my daughter's house and then I will go to work tonight.

See you Sunday

Happy Monday!

I can say that since Monday is one of my day's off :) Today I have a new digital image, Garden Shed, from KLM Digital Designs. Sue (the artist) keeps coming up with the neatest images. You really should check them out if you haven't already, there is definitely something for everybody.

Colored with copic markers I tried to keep it kind of rustic looking without being browns. Tin roof and barn red siding was what I decided on. The hucca plants and tall grass behind the lawn chair are beautifully detailed.

I just added some tiny prima flowers in lots of fun colors to bring out the flowers in the image.

The next new image I am going to do with the KLM Digital Stamps is a sail boat scene. I should have that one done in a couple of days.

I don't mean to ignore my wonderful followers and friends but if I seem a little lax in my postings summer is just really busy and I have a lot of special secret projects going on right now. I try to post every day during the week .

On the bright side, Kimm from Artful Sentiments had sent me a package that we thought got lost in the mail. I was so bummed thinking that it was gone forever and couldn't be replaced. Today she sent me an email to verify my mailing address because she got the package back. Would you believe that the address that she had sent it to was correct. I think what happened was that we have had a lot of substitute mail carriers lately and they took the package to a similiar address a couple of blocks away and when they sent it back as the wrong address they never thought THEY might have delivered it to the wrong address and sent it back to Kimm. Hopefully my long awaited package will be here in a couple of days as she sent it Priority this time.

See you later tonight or tomorrow, since it is my day off I am liable to have a project posted again today.

Have a great rest of your day, I know I will.

Artful Sentiments Weekly Copic Challenge and GinaK Designs card

I postponed putting my Artful Sentiments card on the blog because I didn't want it to get lost in the Oh Say Can You See Blog Hop which had to stay up for Saturday and Sunday. What a lot of fun it was to create the projects for the blog hop, but to get so many wonderful comments was amazing. Thank you everyone who stopped by and especially those who left comments, I really appreciate it and look forward to seeing you again.

Here is my Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #15 card. The colors this week are B26, R29 and C0. I know you saw it last week but I created it for this challenge but I like it enough to show it twice :P

I colored this darling Patriotic dog from KLM Digital Designs with copic markers and highlighted the fluffy areas with a white gel pen. I used the red and blue in the bandana and the C0 for the main dog color.
Be sure to check out the rest of the DT cards, they are wonderful.

******************************************
I got some new GinaK Designs stamps this week and today was the first day that I got a chance to play with the Many Wishes free set with 3. I have seen so many beautiful samples from the GinaK Design Team using this set I knew I would love it. Here is my first card:

I stamped the dandelions with versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. The background is SU certainly celery, and Adirondak lemonade and Sunset orange.
The wonderful sentiments are interchangable in this set making it very versatile for many different occassions.
This is one of those cards that looks sooooo much better in person. You can't see the embossing, the faux stitching aount the main image or the sponged background. Oh well, maybe you will be able to click on it and enlarge the detail.
I am enjoying a long week-end of stamping and just relaxing. See you tomorrow with a project from Dog Gone Stamps and possibly more from my new GinaK stamps, you never know how many I will get done. I need to get started on my daughter's birth announcements too, this month will go really fast.
Have a great day, Catch you later!!!

Welcome to the Oh, Say can you See Blog Hop!

I'm so glad you could join the SNR Card Universe Blog Hop!

Grab your cup of coffee, glass of tea or bottle of water and relax by viewing the last half of the blog hop. If you are at my blog you are less than half way through the 93 blogs that have joined in this wonderful Holiday treat of Red, White, and Blue!

If you came from Tenia's blog you are on the right track! If you didn't you may want to hop to go back to the first blog on the hop which is: here and start at the beginning.

My first card is created using GinaK Designs StampTV kit flower barrel stamp:

The paper is a digital download from StampTV freebie's.

Next is a darling little Patriotic Girl from KLM Digital Designs.

Colored with copic markers, which is my weapon of choice usually. There is also a Patriotic Boy with a watermelon and a Patriotic Dog that will be featured on my Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge this week.

I have many styles that I love so being a Guest DT member for Artistic Outpost is so much fun for me. I love vintage, maybe because I remember it all too well :)

The 4th of July collage was created using Artistic Outpost stamp plates Hero and She-roes. I printed a music score of the Star Spangled Banner off the internet(it was free) and used that as the base for my collage. I just love the American flags on the lower right corner from the Hero stamp plate.

My final project is from Theresa Momber's newest stamp set available at GinaK Designs and is called Happy Camper. It isn't Red,White, and Blue but it to me is the epitomy of America the Beautiful. "From the Mountains"... God Bless America...My Home Sweet Home!

Next on the hop is Sheri Willshire be sure to stop by visit. Thanks for stopping by and have a safe and happy 4th of July!!!

Sorry I am late!

Sorry I am late posting my Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge card today. Actually I showed it to you day before yesterday, remember when I said I was working on a challenge card? I was using the GinaK Designs, Eclectic Summer StampTV kit Hot Air Balloons.

I gave all of the details on the card itself on Thursday but the Copic Colors that I used on the hot air balloons were B24, G24, and YR21 and my additional green was YG63. I used the same color markers for the flowers below with the blue as the flower center, yellow as the flower petal and green as the leaves.

Thanks for looking and sorry for being so late in posting.

See you tomorrow, gotta do my Sunday Challenges. After the release party GinaK Designs has 3 challenges that have to be done by Monday night at 7 p.m. for a chance at a prize. I can always use a free stamp set but always enjoy doing the challenges anyway.

Cathy

It's Friday that means Hanna Stamps Challenge!!!

Hanna Stamps Friday challenge this week was hosted by Frances. The challenge was an awesome sketch challange.

I got this Pirate Hanna stamp set last year when it was released and it has been one of my favorites since. She is just so fun to color and you can change the colors of her outfit to suit the holidays.

I don't know why I colored her pink and blue because I had a little trouble finding dp to match. That is sometimes a problem when you color and then try to pick your dp :)

I used my EK border punch for the pointy edge panel behind the main image. I stamped the sentiment on the cardstock and then taped the Tim Holtz fragment over it to highlight it.

I need to get to bed, my sister called and will be in town tomorrow so I need to make my house presentable, yeah, I know it should always be but it isn't .

I will post my Artful Sentiment Copic Challenge later this morning (after I sleep) ha ha!

Thanks for stopping by.

Cathy

Saturday, June 20, 2009

It's Saturday, that means Artful Sentiments Copic Color Challenge !!!

Isn't King Toad, from Dog Gone Stamps, the cutest, homely dude you have ever seen! He makes me smile every time I see him. I thought he was perfect for the copic challenge this week for Artful Sentiments by Kimm BT.

The copic markers we were to use were B05, YG23, YR04 and a purple V04 was my choice.

I colored the body with several shades of green with the medium green being YG23. I used the YR04 for the medium shading on his throat and tummy. The B05 and lavender are in the crown. I know it is a stretch but I always try to use all the colors :).

The card is pretty basic except for the button that I cut out with my Spellbinders vintage die cut using my Cuttlebug and then I brushed on Tim Holtz Distress crackle paint for an antique looking button. I tied the same orange narrow ribbon through the button holes as I had tied around the orange polka dot layer. Just that little bit of ribbon is not too much to keep this a masculine card.

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT samples for this great color combination.

Have a great week-end and don't forget that tomorrow is Father's Day and since yesterday was also my husband's birthday we are having a double celebration for him and one of my granddaughter's is in town who has a birthday July 5th so we will be celebrating her birthday too.

See you all later,

Cathy

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #12

Hi All,

Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge #12
I know that it is a very late challenge post but Kimm BT had a very bad storm in her area last night and she is without electricity and no way to post her challenge blog and last week's winner at this time. Those things just aren't always the most important things in life. We have heard that she is fine but has no electricity.
I am going to go ahead and post my challenge card for this week.
The colors this week were B02, BG09,R32 other red I used was R08. I love these butterflies from GinaK Designs Take Flight stamp set. I added the foliage from another GinaK Designs set called Botanical Gardens. I sponged with Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick distress ink.
The dp is some I had that I couldn't find a name on so it is categorized as misc. dp :) but the colors were perfect for my butterfly. I added a flower sateen flower colored with my copic markers and some foliage punched with my Martha Stewart punch.
The copic colors I used were just the four mentioned for the challenge. I started with the darkest blue working from the butterfly body outward. I added teal satin ribbon and teal half pearls .
We all hope and pray that Kimm and her family are only without electricity and no other damage was done to their home.

New Release KLM Designs and Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge

Hi Everybody,

Sorry I am late but my daughter came over to do some landscaping so I am a little late with my post but I have two projects for you today. First I have a new release image from KLM Designs:

Mailbox Greetings is one of the images that will be released on June 8, I have always liked the mailbox stamps but I have never gotten one until now. The little birds nesting in the mailbox and the tulips are so perfect to say "Miss You", or "Hello", or "Just Because"

I added some little crochet flowers that I made myself. I am still working on them but they are fun and I like the look on cards.

My next project is the weekly copic challenge at Artful Sentiments by KimmBT. This week the copic colors are B97, Y35, and R89. I didn't actually have any of these but in this instance decided that I didn't have anything that dark in my stash so I did buy them. Here is my card:

I colored the cute little Skater boy from KLM Designs to make a cute boy card to say congratulations or you are a super kid or a Birthday card.

Be sure to check out the Artful Sentiments by Kimm BT blog because Kimm has some blog candy this week. While you are at it color an image in any red, yellow and blue copics and leave a comment linking to the blog to win. We would love to have you!

I am off to eat lunch and get some things done before I have to go to work tonight.

Sunday is my StampTV challenge day and I have two planned for tomorrow. I already did the color challenge this week.

See you tomorrow, have a great week-end.

Cathy
