I Pledge Allegiance--Sassy Cheryl's

Had time today to color another Sassy Cheryl's super cute image called I Pledge Allegiance.  I have loved Americana since I can remember.  My home was overtaken with Red/White/Blue in antique color hues for 20 years.

I thought this little darling was sooo darn cute I just had to have her.  She was colored with copic markers trying to go with a more antique tone and coloring
I thought it woudl be fun to make some circle button holders(for lack of a better term) so I punched large blue and medium white. The edges were distressed pretty harshly which shows up much better in person or a close up view of the pix.
The blue panel behind the main image was distressed as well.  A red check ribbon keeps with the americana theme.  The large red buttons were some that I got on sale when one of our WalMart's was selling out of sewing stuff, I knew I would want them sometime :)
The little red star button is from my button stash.
The USA were cuttlebut alphabet letters from my letter drawer.

I will have a few more Sassy Cheryl's cards for you next week.

Be sure that you stop by the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Blog Hop on Tuesday with both the Challenge Team and Dream Team participating...Should be fun.  We get to pick our favorite image to use.  I can't wait to see what everyone chooses.  There will be a prize and it wll be loads of fun

Tomorrow I will have a Artistic Outpost Valentine card and who knows what else I may come up with :)

Have a great night and thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Coloring

America the Beautiful

I got my long awaited new stamps from GinaK Designs on Wednesday, got them cut out on Thursday and got to play when I got home from work! I love Theresa Momber's new stamp set, Happy Camper, but my favorite stamp is the mountains and trees.

I stamped the mountain scene stamp side by side. After finishing the project I wish that I had not lined them up quite so well, so just pretend that the mountains on the right are closer than they appear :)

I wanted this to look like a framed portrait by placing the sentiment where I did at the bottom like a plaque on a portrait frams.

I colored with copic markers and used a post-it-note mask to create the clouds using my Tim Holtz distress ink and foam applicator pads. These are the products that I almost always use to sponge around my image and edges but when doing clouds I only use the narrow end of the pad.

After creating this project with Theresa's wonderful set I will be singing America the Beautiful at work all night :)

I can't wait to play with my other GinaK stamp sets. I have to work tomorrow during the day, and then I will watch the Firewords from my front yard. There is a golf course that puts on one of the best Fireworks Displays in Omaha that is only about a half mile from my house. At 10:00 I will be sitting in my front yard watching their wonderful display and never have to leave home. Works for me!!!

Be sure to take time this week-end to check out the Forth of July blog hop sponsored by Scrapbook News and Review which starts at 9:00 AM tomorrow. You can start here:

Follow the directions on the next post from here.

Have a Happy and Safe Holiday week-end. Be sure to check my blog tomorrow for the Blog Hop, Artful Sentiments Copic Challenge and who knows what else I may have up my sleeve by tomorrow night.

Patriotic Boy with Watermelon!

I absolutely love this little guy, Patriotic watermelon boy. Just for July 4th Sue, artist extraordinare, of KLM Digital Designs created 3 digital images for our coloring pleasure. I have previewed all of them now and they are sooooo much fun. The dog image is currently free so dash over and get yours and color it for the 4th you will love it.
The only thing that really needs explaining on this card is the stardust clear glitter pen that I used for the fireworks. I also used the red glitter pen on the fireworks too. I stamped the fireworks with Tim Holtz faded denim distress ink.
Be sure to stop by tomorrow for my Artistic Outpost 4th of July collage.
Have a great day, I have to go to work after while.

Almost 4th of July Already!!! Free Digital Image!!!

Where is this year flying to....I can't believe that in 5 days it will be July 4th. Here is my first of week long 4th of July cards:
Patriotic Dog is a free digital image download right now, so if you have been thinking of trying digital images now is the perfect time!

This darling Patriotic Dog is a digital image from KLM Digital Designs. They have 3 really cute Patriotic images available for purchase right now, just in time for that Holiday card.
Americana colors have always been one of my favorite combinations.
I colored the dog with copic markers and then used a white gel pen to give his coat definition on his muzzle, chest and ear. Sometimes you can click on the image and it will enlarge so you can see the detail close up ( sometimes it doesn't work, never have figured that one out yet)
I don't know if you noticed but there isn't any sponging on this card! gasp...what's up with that? The biggest reason was that when I printed off my page of images there wasn't too much room between the images so not much white space I wanted to fill.
The blue cross hatch paper and the red and white striped ribbon are from GinaK Designs, the solid blue was from Michaels, the RedRidingHood is from SU and the white is GP white.
The gold stars are from Michaels in the clothing embellishment section and I used glue dots to adhere them.
I actually have to work from 9-6 on the 4th this year, unless I find someone who is only part-time that wants to work. I will get paid either way only if I work it I get time and a half.
Hope you like the cute Patriotic Dog, and be sure to check out the KLM Digital Designs.
See you tomorrow.
