Today's Good Things:
Got in my workout
Ended the day under by a couple hundred calories (good recovery from over eating on Sunday)
Met my water goal
Got in a lot of read aloud time with the children
Coffee out with friend

Today's Not So Good Things:
Difficult day for everyone attitude-wise
Missed my bible time
Missed my 15's
Blasted chocolate chips (emotional eating :-(  )

Today was a hard day. I felt lousy yesterday and this morning. I just wanted to spend the day in bed, but I knew I wasn't sick enough to justify that.  My poor start left me off course by way of exercise.  I did get it together by the afternoon and get in my workout, but I'm one day behind since I missed it last night. I was munching on chocolate chips when I was feeling stressed. Hate it when I do that. I ended up having just a clementine for dinner on my way out the door for coffee. I knew I was under on calories, but I wasn't hungry and didn't want to eat the high calorie/high carb dinner that was served. (dd's homemade mac-n-cheese. Yum, but dangerous ;-) )

I'm a little hungry now. I'm thinking about a yogurt bowl to end the night. No fat, some protein and fiber. I'm torn, as I don't really want to eat just before bed, but I'm not sure about going to bed hungry either. Hmmmm....

Not a great day, but I was able to redeem a bit of it and meet some of my goals.  Tomorrow is a new day, with the promise of some heavy snow for a good workout. ;-)

  1. I would eat something before bed in this case since you don't want to starve your metabolism and skipping dinner isn't a good idea. Your yogurt idea is perfect, just enough to not crash you while you sleep.

I'm sorry you had a difficult day. I've been having a hard time getting moving in the mornings the last couple days and it just makes such a difference doesn't it. Hope your coffee out was encouraging and you have a great start tomorrow!

  2. Thanks, Laurie. I ended up crunching on a big carrot and that did the trick. I am not hungry this morning at all. :)

I don't typically skip meals, but I wasn't hungry, so I figured I go with that after a day of overload. And, technically, I did eat at dinner. But, a clementine doesn't count for much. ;)

  3. I am sorry you had a rough start to your day! That stinks when that happens!!!!!! Your carrot sounded better than nothing but I don't think that your yogurt would have been a bad idea either. You know.....I can just TELL that you are going to be successful in this getting healthier. You are a very big motivator for me.When we mess up we can't just quit.We won't get anywhere like that! We have to just keep thinking about what we are eating/doing and keep trying harder to get into better habits etc.

Anyhow,I hope your day is going better today!!!!

This is a challenging journey, so your gracious encouragement is quite welcome.
