Today's Good Things:
Woke up *before* dh's wake up call :)
Got in my Morning 15
Kept my cool, for the most part, in dealing with others who didn't
Trip to the library
Coffee out with friends
Breakfast was ready to serve!

Today's Not So Good Things:
Everyone was completely *off* today. Major case of the Contagious Crabbies for all the Kiddos. :<
We went WAY over for school, not eating lunch until 1:30pm...yikes!
No Afternoon 15
Forgot to prep for lunch and dinner (leaving us with less than healthy choices for quick fixes)....Booooo....Hissssss.....
I have a sneaking suspicion that we have a cold of some sort brewing. (Yes, I'm upping the vits!)

Well, the Back to School honeymoon must be over. The children were struggling so much today just to settle in and do the simplest things. I'm not sure what happened, but I hope tomorrow looks different.

I am realizing that our current schedule is working very well in getting in our schooling, but I'm not doing so well in keeping up with the meals and cleaning chores. (the never-ending plight of a homeschool mom, right?) I know we'll get there, but this week I'm working to get a better handle on meal prep. Especially since that directly affects the quality of the food we are eating. (which then directly affects the attitudes and behavior and sleep habits and...oy!)

I'm also thinking to readjust my toddler's naptime, seeing if that will change things out a bit. What I'm really hunting for here is an opportunity to get my Afternoon 15 back in since I'm having a hard time finding it when our lunchtime falls so late in the day. And without it, I stay in a Sluggish Slump all afternoon. I miss my cheerful, active, Keep-Movin' self I was becoming. :D

Also, it looks as though our family is taking on another Great Challenge that will require significant changes once again. I'm not sure what it will look like just yet, but I know I will need to be firm in keeping up with my daily exercise routines because they help me recharge. I am often tempted to set them aside when the demand for my time increases, but I've learned that I function much better when I am getting in the physical exertion and stress release that the exercise provides. Truly, I never realized that about myself before. I never thought I would *like* exercise.
Cool. 8-)

As a side note, I just wanted to say I have the most adorable two year old I know. (who loves to come and give Mommy an extra kiss when she should be already sleeping. ;-) Soooooo sweet. <3 <3

And now I'm off to snuggle that sweet darlin' so she can get some sleep!
(and me too ;-) )

  1. Sounds like a lovely day overall, and a great ending too. What do you do in your "Morning and Afternoon 15's"? Do tell when you have the chance, pretty please.

Also, just catching up on some of your posts here tonight and I'm so glad to hear of your new church visit! May God grant you a family of believers that you can bless as much as they can bless you. I have to say I can't help but be a bit envious right now, wish we could be there with ya.

  2. Hi Laurie. :)

My 15's are a quick way for me to get in some activity with the family. I've spent years telling myself I have "no time" to exercise with the demands of our family. Now I'm out to prove myself wrong. ;)

We work on One-Ups (situps/pushups/stairclimbing/airplanes) in the morning and I try to get in a brisk 15 mile outside after lunch with some kiddos. I detailed it more on the My Tools page on my blog.

I wish you could come with us to church too! In fact, we wanted to call everyone we knew that day who is looking for a church home (which, sadly, is many) and say, Hey! Come here!! lol. We know each family has different things they are looking for, though. We're just so thankful to have found a place to be excited to return to. ;)

    Thanks for celebrating with me.

This is a challenging journey, so your gracious encouragement is quite welcome.
