Greetings and welcome!!  Don't worry... I do so hope you will join myself and my companions for a bite to eat and a cup of tea.  You will!!  Hip, hip, Huzzah!!  Which cup do you prefer?  I'll pour you the white.  Don't mind the spiders, they just sleep in the saucer.  Would you care for some cheese?  It appears someone else would.  And someone else is eyeing the mouse.  Now, Miss Samhain, is that anyway to treat a guest?  Would you care for a cupcake?  Add your own toppings.  Mom thinks the icing tastes just right.  More tea please.  There are spirits in the crystal skull.  Please help yourself.  Are you having fun, and enjoying the tea?  And do you have anything you might like to share with Miss Zoe.  She will gladly help.  So will Miss Samhain, especially if it is icing. Yum.  Thank you so much for joining me.  I hope you have fun vis

"For more than two hundred years, the Owens women have been blamed for everything that has gone wrong in town." ~ Alice Hoffman, Practical Magic In preparation for this blog party I decided to reread the book Practical Magic  by Alice Hoffman. Everything was more subtle and I could relate to these beautiful, strong women.  Reading the book anew I fell in love all over again. The aunts eclectic nature, taking in their nieces even though they never married or had children. The black cats haunting their home. The late night visitors. The orphans who grow into two different, but very similar women. Sally's beautiful daughters who have their own problems with the Owens name. The men who fall into the women's lives. Jimmy the corpse.  The book is so beautiful that, even tho

Betsy's Gypsy Dreams

When I was a little girl I would sit on my front porch reading and dreaming that the gypsies would come to take me away. I loved the music, dancing, color and whimsy of the gypsy. Their spirit spoke of freedom that my mid-western soul could not help but envy. I wanted to run away and find my place among those beautiful people.  And as an adult I still do. I love to dress in what I think of a a gypsy style. For my gypsy dreams post I am going to share clothes and accessories with a gypsy flair that I love, want or covet completely. found here found here found here found here found here found here found here found here found here found here found here I hope you can use these inspirations to create your own gypsy look. For added flair make sure your skirt has bells or wear a bell anklet. Bring a little gypsy into the everyday.  Blessings.
