Magical Monday - Book of Shadows

Image
Magical Monday     Rune of the Week: Wunjo - Joy, Bliss   I pulled  again, so I pulled a second rune for the week which is...     Peorth - Initiation, Mystery, Blessing, Luck, Divine Intervention, Beginnings, Talents and Creativity     Both of these speak of great things. I have some amazing plans this week, I am on vacation next week and I found out today that I got a bonus at work, so...       Card draw of the Week (from the Wild Wood Tarot):   11 The Woodward   Reading Points: Through adversity or the process of rebalancing in life, we find courage within ourselves that flows from an unknown source. Sometimes that courage has to do with facing unavoidable truth or dealing with a person or problem that no amount of physical confrontation or emotional bravery will resolve. The Woodward's strength, drawn from nature's inherent power to renew and overcome, is needed if...

Magical Mondays - Not relying on Ceremony

Image
Magical Monday       Rune of the Week: Wunjo - Joy, Bliss     Card draw of the Week (from the Wild Wood Tarot):   Knight of Vessels - Eel   Reading Points: With purity of intent, your destiny defined, you are able to bring wisdom and maturity to your tasks. Embarking on a quest of personal revelation, your vision leads you onward. Your deep feelings are expressed at every turn.   Magical Monday Post: Unceremonious   I am a witch who does not rely on ceremony. I rarely cast a circle. I consider my home to be sacred space as it is, so it needs no blessings. I occasionally smudge and clear negative energy, but I do not feel it necessary to go further than that.   When working I also tend to keep it simple. I am a fan of poppets and sachets, but mostly I burn a candle with some herbs. I admire witches who are ceremonial and have very solid rigid practices. I am so much a fly by the seat of your pan...

Magical Mondays - Seeking a little chaos

Image
Trying something new I am going to be making Magical Mondays a new feature. I am going to use this time to talk about witchy workings, thoughts, etc.       Rune of the week: Uruz - Auroch (Bison) - Strength and proving strength (manly), Creative force, Dross (forge)       Card of the week (from The Wild Wood Tarot):   Queen of Bows: Hare     Reading Points: A companion through life, sympathetic and understanding, leading you to a deeper awareness of what is needed to bring success to your every enterprise. Wise and witty, gentle and kindly, the Queen supports you and strengthens your resolve.     Together this sounds pretty promising, eh?     Magical Monday Post: Looking for a little Chaos:   I just finished reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert, and it left me craving a little chaos in my life. She spoke of the Trickster, and how necessary that spirit is to keeping...

Yule Blessings!!

Image
To celebrate Yule here with my blog friends I thought I would share the crafts I recently sent and received in the craftster WWP Yule swap. My partner was the amazing Jennden who sent an absolutely fabulous package. I hope she loves mine half as much as I love the package she sent me. First what I sent to her. She requested a handmade Goddess and God for her altar so I decided to sew them for her, then I painted her a moon painting in miniature, two bracelets, two ornaments, two bottles and a box full of candles and stones. Oh and a jingle bell necklace, just because it's fun.  This is the beautiful package I received. She made me a beautiful Yule sign, an adorable bag full of ornaments and a cute little wreath, a yule log and a box filled with sparkly candle holders, a crystal and a pendant made from a fork wrapped around a tiger's eye.  Blessed Yule!!!

Who I am...My witchy self.

I greatly enjoyed a post by Danni at  The Whimsical Cottage  that was regarding  Who are you and what are you?: Personal styles of the craft . I then went to the original post by Angel at Ivy on the Path  and greatly enjoyed her post as well.  I loved this insight into their worlds and decided that it would be interesting to address this myself.  Me in my Wenchy Witchy goodness.  I have always been an active reader and I can remember in elementary school checking out all the books on mythology, unexplained phenomenon and other such things. I remember trying to convince my very Christian Grandmother that there could be a big God and then other smaller Gods and Goddesses (she was not swayed). I was active in church, though, until I was 16 or so. At that point I had reached a point where things no longer made sense and I could not handle the hypocrisy anymore (the church we were attending would not allow my mother to be a member because she wa...

Crafts, Vikings and Beltane!!

So much is going on right now. I know I always say that, but it remains true. I sent out my labyrinth swap package. I painted my partner a set of stacking dolls, a box, a glass pendant and a t-shirt. I have also been working on more pages for the 52 weeks of pagan art journaling with Aradia's Cauldron. Here are my next four pages: Love, I believe, Nature and A Letter to myself. Onto my hectic life. We went to the Ashville Viking Festival this weekend. It was a blast as always. My camera batteries died really early on so I don't have as many photos as I would like. Here is a photo of Seth and I with a very beautiful Irish Wolfhound.  I ended up buying a gorgeous bracelet, which I will try to get good pictures of in the light. A kitchen trivet with a pentacle (photos to follow in Beltane photos). A new pouch that has a flap shaped like a leaf, truly lovely. And a handmade pentacle chalice. Seth bought me a set of silver viking brooches for my new viking garb as well...
