Friday, December 2, 2016 - A Satisfying Fortune Saturday, December 3, 2016 - Weekend with Grandma.  A friend had a baby shower in the area, so we spent the weekend with Seth's Grandma Mitch. Seth helped her put up her tree, and then we worked on a jigsaw puzzle. It was a really relaxing weekend.  Sunday, December 4, 2016: Heading home from Grandma's Monday, December 5, 2016: Got my new Member Card.  We support WOSU, our local NPR station, and we get a member card that apparently get us some amazing discounts and perks. I had no idea until the new one came.  Tuesday, December 6, 2016: Dungeons and Dragons Night - Fighting ogres and a couple of humping hobgoblins.  Wednesday, December 7, 2016: My badge holder exploded.  Thursday, December 8, 2016: Bingo Night Once a month I go with my sister and some friends to play Naughty Bingo. You play for Adult Toys, and yell Dildo rather than Bingo. It is seriously fun.

Ghost huntings and other fun actvities

This Memorial Day weekend is packed full of strange excitement for my family.   Tomorrow I head with Seth, my mom and Seth's mom and dad down to Mansfield to take a tour of the Ohio State Reformatory . This historical and supposedly haunted former prison is famous for being the setting for the film, The Shawshank Redemption. My mom stumbled upon an amazing Groupon for self-guided tours so we are headed that way. I am taking my camera and I am hoping I can capture the image of a ghost while we wander.       On Sunday I am volunteering with my mother at the Columbus Asian Festival , This is my first time attending this particular festival, but I am excited to see what it has to offer. I am hoping for delicious food and fabulous booths, and hopefully people selling fun stuff. :)       Beyond all that craziness life is interesting in my world. I have been trying to find a way to finish my bachelor's degree in English. I applied to a couple of local schools. I

It's a mad, mad, mad March

Image
March is always slightly chaotic in my world and this year is no exception. Birthdays, walks, parties, craft projects and belly dance are ruling my life. The first weekend of March we went to the Arnold Fitness Expo here in Columbus. It is a weekend of pure chaos, the fittest people in the world, and enough protein samples to fuel a power lifter. We spotted the guys from Hard Core Pawn, Hulk Hogan and I had an embarassing encounter with MMA fighter Forrest Griffin (I came face to face with him, froze entirely unable to breathe and then started to cry, because apparently I cannot handle celebrity encounters). We got to watch a Strongest Man event, a little gymnastics and some amazing jump rope.                         The 14th was my birthday. Hooray 34! I decided that we should do a 5k for my birthday, so on an incredibly soggy March morning we slogged our way to the Pi Day 5k. The race was once in a century being on 3/14/15 9:26:53.

March comes in like a lion...

It's March! And I was sick for the first 3 days. Hopefully that means that I got it out of my system before my birthday next week. I always seem to get sick around my birthday. March is always a crazy month for us, and this year is certainly no exception. Tomorrow night I am having dinner with my mom and sister, and the three of us are making a whole foods trip. On Saturday we are headed to the Columbus Convention Center to hit the Arnold Fitness Expo. It is amazing for people watching. I hope to get better photos this year than I did last. March 14 is my birthday and Mega Pi Day, so Mom, Traci, Seth and I are walking the Pi-Day 5k. Then later in the night we will be going to my new favorite Italian restaurant, The Florentine. They have amazing food. Our amazing Egg Decorating Party for 2015 is scheduled for the 21st. I am hoping that it will be fun and that we will have a good turn out. I have been looking for new ideas for eggs for this year, and I have some ideas.

Food Truck Festival

On Friday my mother and I wandered over to  The Columbus Commons  for the  Columbus Food Truck Festival . It was a gorgeous fall like Ohio night and we had a delicious time. After wandering around a bit, we finally decided to try Vietnamese food  from a truck called Mai Chau . Mom got a Bahn Mi sandwich with ginger slaw and lemon grass chicken and I got a noodle bowl with siracha pulled pork. Everything was so good and so fresh. Yum. Here is a look at some of the sights. Our choice of food trucks. Bahn Mi Noodle Bowl Me...in my new pink glasses. I love them so much.!!

A very hairy situation...

Seth and I found ourselves at COSI, a local children's museum on Saturday night for a very interesting event, Ohio's Second Beard and Moustache Competition and Festival. We attended because my lovely man is thinking of trying to compete and he wanted to see what it was all about. As a lady who loves the men with facial hair it was an interesting and very exciting event. I have never seen so much face hair in one place, it was insane. You would also buy t-shirts, pillows, art, etc with facial hair motifs. Competitors came from all over the US and Canada to compete, and the crew of Whisker Wars  was there covering the event. it was a great event and I think in the end Seth has decided he might try it next year. Here is some of the awesome...
