My Mind's Eye July Top Ten & My Cute Stamps

My husband has had a few days off here-and-there and we've been taking full advantage of them and spending time together as a family. This is what we've been up to . . .

Four Wheeler Ride in the Mountains

We feel so lucky to live so close to the mountains . . . the access roads are just a few streets away. Once or twice a year we will pack a picnic, hop on the four-wheelers and head for the hills. This time we went for 3.5 hours. The whole time I had that song in my head "The Bear Went Over the Mountain . . . to see what he could see." And what did we see? The other side of the mountain . . . but we also found a beautiful mountain lake where we stopped to eat our lunch. The bugs were CRAZY though, I guess they like the smell of Jimmy John's sandwiches, too. The kids were screaming and we laughed as we stuffed our food in our mouths as fast as we could so we could get on our way. :)

LAGOON!

We have a sad little amusement park here in Utah called Lagoon. :) It doesn't even compare to places like Disneyland, it's more like a glorified carnival. But, hey! We atleast have SOMETHING, right?! :D We had a great time riding the rides and watching daddy win the kids stuffed animals at the Baseball Toss. :)

I actually do have a few projects to share with you today. The first one is the page I created for the My Mind's Eye July Top 10 post .

For our family, July is all about parades, picnics, and spending time with family. We celebrate the 4th of July with the rest of the country at the beginning of the month, but also look forward to celebrating Utah's statehood (Pioneer Day) on the 24th of July. It's a month long celebration! We get together with family to watch hometown parades, watch the kids scramble for candy, attend carnivals, and watch fireworks. We look forward to it every summer!

I created the title using the Just Chillin' design card and my Slice. Such a great font! The rub on letters and transparent piece are from an earlier My Mind's Eye collection called Bohemia.

I used the NEW Alphabet Soup Boy collection with a hint of the Lost & Found collection.

I also have a couple of cards to share with you today using My Cute Stamps . This is actually the last month of my term and I want to thank Holly for having me on the team this past little while. I love her stamps and will continue to add them to my collection! :) Thanks, Holly!

Thank You Card - Sweet Chocolate set

Aren't those chocolate-dipped strawberries the cutest?! In our town we have a chocolatier called Mrs. Cavanaugh's Chocolates. They have the best chocolate (and caramel corn) EVER. Whenever I need a gift for someone, they are the place I stop first. :) I thought it would be so fun to grab a box of their chocolate strawberries and take them to someone as a special "Thank You" gift with this card attached.

Happy Owl-oween! Card - Happy Owloween Set

It's no secret that Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday. How could I not end my term with My Cute Stamps by creating a fun Halloween card? :) This set is so much fun!

That's it for today!
Have a great weekend!

Ah, Summertime! My kids are a bit sore today after spending 6 hours on an inflatable waterslide at their cousin's birthday party yesterday! Thanks for such a fun day, Eubanks! Happy Birthday, S! ;) And thank you for wearing my kids out! The kids slept in until 10:45 am . . . and so did I! Ahhhhh! Felt great! :D Hehehehe!

I have a couple new pages to share with you today using the always-adorable My Cute Stamps stampsets. :)

For this first page, I used the Puppy Pals set.

Soooo, I hope you'll forgive me. :) *batting eyelashes* I'm sure you've got lots going on, too.

I do have a few My Cute Stamps projects to show you using the Picnic with Little Red stampset and So Sophie My Mind's Eye papers.

Little Red Riding Hood -

This past Halloween Maryn wore my Little Red Riding Hood costume that my mom made for me when I was a girl. She looked adorable! One of these days I need to have my dad send me a picture of me in that same costume and do a side-by-side page. :) Wouldn't that be fun?

I used the Making Memories Slice to cut the letters for the word "red" as well as the red patterned paper flowers. The red Paper Flowers are spritzed with Shimmerz Redy Or Not Vibez.

Thank You Card

Isn't that little apple perfect for a Thank You note for your child's teacher? :)

The "Thanks" stamp is from the Eeek! A Monster! stampset .

Finally, I will leave you with a little teaser . . .

Happy Weekend, Scrappy Friends! I have been playing with My Cute Stamps this week and wanted to share with you a few cards I created using the Pirate Boy , Pirate Princess and Cheer Up stamp sets. All cards are 4.5" square.

Pirate Boy

Pirate Princess
This card has the same design as above, I just added the Pirate Princess girl and placed her accessories in a little different way. :)

Ahoy There!
On this card I used the cloud from the Cheer Up set to write my sentiment in. Papers are from the Bella Blvd. All Inclusive collection .

Enjoy your day!

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #76

This week at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog our prompt was to use stamps in an Easter project. I decided to create an Easter Layout using the Noel Mignon Seaside cottage kit and the "Jelly Beans" stampset by My Cute Stamps . (Click on any of the images to view larger.)

The layer behind my photo was created using the Script Texture embossing folder. Before placing my cream cardstock into the folder to emboss it I spritzed the folder with Treasured Hymn Spritz, Copper Penny Vibez, Hot Fudge Vibez, and a bit of Licorice Spritz (by Shimmerz Paints ). I love how the colors mixed and settled into the recessed parts of the pattern emphasizing the texture.

I then added a splash of pink at the top by placing a butterfly punch on the cardstock as a mask and then misted over the corner with Bed of Roses Spritz by Shimmerz Paints . It was just enough pink to help the cardstock tie in with the rest of the page. :)

I stamped the sentiment from the My Cute Stamps "Jelly Beans" set onto a tag. I used a stamping marker to color portions of the saying one at a time, so I could space the quote out on my tag to make it fit. I stamped the bunny, carrot and easter egg onto cream patterned paper and then used Shimmerz Paints lightly on the portions of the image that I wanted a little color.

The pearl accents on the banner, the pearl curly line beneath the rabbit, and the pink icy blossom are all by Zva Creative . They are the perfect dimensional details that add a bit of Easter elegance to this page. :)

And for my sketch friends out there, I have created a sketch to go along with this page. Lots of layering on this one. Enjoy!

I hope you are having a great week!
Talk to you again soon!

My Cute Stamps Layout and Be Inspired #74

This week on the Cuttlebug Challenge blog the Be Inspired #74 Challenge is to Dress Up and Envelope. I decided to decorate a 6 X 9 envelope and then use it as a layer on my scrapbook page. I used an embossing folder on the gray cardstock layer of my page to add interest.

Making Money - In the past several months, my two older children have figured out the value of earning and having their own money. One of the things they do to earn extra cash is to help out with the laundry. Something I am extremely grateful for! :)

I stamped the butterflies and flowers multiple times, cut out a portion of them, and then stacked them on top of each other with foam adhesive squares to add dimension.

See those cute stamps?! They are by My Cute Stamps . I mixed three different sets on this page. The scallop border is created from a stamp from the Celebrate Chandelier set. The flowers, butterflies and leaves come from the Hello Doodle and Spunky Nature set. I kept the images black and white so they would stand out from the patterned papers on this page. I love the doodle-y feel they give to this page. The butterflies are accented with jewel droplets by Adornit. The flowers are accented with Basic Grey buttons.

And for you sketch lovers out there, . . . here's one to go along with this page.

Thanks for coming by!
