WooHOOO! Out of Bed and Crop Addict June Kit

WooHOOOOO! I have been stuck in bed for three days elevating my foot and I'm finally back in my scraproom! Granted, I do have to keep my foot propped up on a chair next to me, but who cares! I'm back at my desk! :)Do I even have to tell you how excited that makes me!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks for all the well-wishes! My surgery went great. It was fast! And the surgical center I went to was great! My foot has been really sore, but it is healing quickly. It's not all the way better, but atleast I can hobble around on it now. :)

Here is what I learned the past three days: Ice is good for swollen feet, My husband, Kevin, is the best nurse EVAH!, My kids draw the cutest cards, I miss hanging out with my family, Daytime T.V. is BORING, husband's appreciate you more when they have to deal with four kids by themselves for three days, scrappy mail ALWAYS cheer me up, it takes a long time to walk on your knees to the bathroom, the Internet is FABULOUS!, it's hard to scrap in bed . . . so it's better to read and update your inspiration notebook by going through magazines. Whew! So that's what I've been up to, how about you?

Mom's Day . . . And the winner is . . .

These are the four cuties that call me "Mom". And today they showered me with hugs & kisses, homemade cards, pictures, coupon books, poems, and gifts. They served me breakfast in bed, snacks and drinks at my whim, let me NAP undisturbed, and tried their very best to get along with each other the entire day. :) I am the luckiest mom in the world! These are the people that teach me. They teach me what kind of person I want to become. They teach me that life is fun, and worthwhile, and meaningful. They teach me patience and perseverence. (LOL!) These people have BIG spirits and I am so grateful that they are in my life. Thanks for making me a mom! I love you Jensyn, Owen, Maryn and Camryn!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful day and were as spoiled as I was! :)

I just realized that I haven't yet posted these projects here on my blog. Crate Paper is sponsoring a challenge at Crop Addict this month. They were incredibly generous and sent the designers a bunch of Crate goodies to play with. Here are my projects with the Blue Hill Collection. See you again soon!

May Crop Addict

May's kit at Crop Addict features two amazing paper lines, Webster's Pages and 7 Gypsies. YUM! I had a lot of fun experimenting with pattern and color combinations with this one. Here are my projects!

This layout was done using a sketch by Laura Shreve, a fellow DT member at Crop Addict. AWESOME sketch, Laura! ;) My daughter was wearing a pink, yellow and red striped shirt sitting on our couch that is gold and red . . . kind of a funky color combination going on! Sooooo, I decided to do some work on it in Photoshop to fix this problem. First, I converted the photo to black and white. Then I added a 2nd layer (the color photo) on top of it. I erased everything in the color photo except for my daughter's math award, letting the b/w image to show up behind it. Flatten image . . . and Wah-Lah! A fun photo that keeps the focus on what you want it to!

On this layout, I wanted to experiment with some funky pattern/color combinations. I can't really tell if I went a little too far (LOL!), but I like the eclectic feel of it anyway. :) These are pictures of my 9-year-old daughter when she turned one. I've been holding onto them forever, because I could never find a patterned paper that I liked with them. When I opened up this month's kit, I was thrilled! I finally had some paper to scrap these with! I tried to keep the style on these more on the simple side since they will be next to pages I did eight years ago. LOL!

For my project I borrowed an idea from the PaperTrey Ink blog. It is a Father's Day Wallet Card. Cute idea, huh?! I couldn't resist it either! I added a Driver's License area to mine and embellished it a little more, but if you would like complete instructions, go HERE.

Easter Weekend & April Crop Addict

Holy Moly! I can't believe the weekend is here again already! *SIGH* Do you ever feel like the days are just ticking by faster than you can keep up?! We've been going crazy again this week making decisions on the house. It feels like I've only been home to sleep in my bed! YIKES! One of these days life will get back to normal, right? :)

Well, I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! Ours was FABULOUS! Very low-key, which I really loved.

On Saturday, we got together with my family at our house to dye Easter eggs with all the cousins. So busy, and so fun! Here is the group in action!
Cam was a little upset that Gramma wouldn't let her sip her Easter egg dye like soup. LOL!
Gramma and Grampa always bring surprises for the kids on the holidays. For Easter they got jammies and goodies.
Here's my family on Easter morning. I have been getting soooooo FRUSTRATED with my camera! I can't get a decent focus or exposure and I've been complaining like crazy to Kevin. It paid off because on Tuesday he let me order a new camera! Soooooo, Monday my new Rebel XTi should arrive! Woohooooo! I know there will be a learning curve, but I can't wait to get some decent, focused pictures of my kids on special days like this one!
Here I am trying to get a shot of the four kids together. (Another out of focus attempt! LOL!) Camryn WOULD NOT look up! So this is the best one I got!
She sure loved those Robin's Eggs! Couldn't take her eyes off them one second to look at mom for a picture! :)
Right before church I herded everyone to the front yard, hopeful for a shot of the four of them together. Camryn was a busy-girl again, and everyone else kept complaining that it was TOO BRIGHT! lol!
After church, Kevin ran to the lot to check on things and spent a little TOO MUCH time over there . . . especially since it was a holiday. I was a little frustrated at him. ;) But he made up for it by coming home and cooking an Easter dinner for our family. He did everything himself. Didn't even ask me to set the table! :)
Yep! It was a pretty casual Easter dinner! TV on in the background and everything! But atleast we were together as a family, and that was nice! :)

Sooooo, onto some scrappy stuff! The Crop Addict April kit has to be my favorite kit EVER that I have designed with for them. I LOVED the two paper lines featured and had a lot of fun with it. Here are my projects.
I snapped these fancy shots of my brother last fall on a family drive. I think he needs to become a musician so he can use these on his CD cover. Don't they look all serious? LOL!
Some more of Owen's photos from his One Year Old photoshoot (pictures by Gallery Photography of Bountiful, Utah). I used to call Owen my "Baby Guy" all the time. :)
Some sweet popsicle shots of my niece for her album.

Jensyn and her friend showing off their press-on nails. Remember those?! :) Gotta love 'em! And, finally, a simple baby card to send to my cousin who just had another baby boy! CONGRATS, Margaret and Kevin!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Crop Addict March Kit Projects

We had two realtors bring clients through our house today. The first one brought a client back for the third time. They gave us an offer while we were in Anguilla, but it was soooo far below our asking price it was almost an insult. I think it's a positive sign that they are back again . . . so we'll see if they give us another offer. ???

I know I've said that we could sell our house the day before we move to our new one, but I'm kind of to the point now that I just want it DONE. Sold. I don't want to have to think about that part anymore. Don't want to have to clean my house every two seconds. KWIM? We're entering the busy time of year for buying/selling a house, so keep your fingers crossed for us! :)

Okay, enough random rambling from Jana! :)

The March Kit Gallery is up at Crop Addict, and that means I get to share with you the projects I did! Here they are!

I don't know why, but I really struggle with the Whiteout paper from We R Memory Keepers. It's not that it's hard paper to work with, I think it just intimidates me because it is so beautiful! I wasn't too thrilled with the way this layout turned out, so I tried my luck with the cards instead. LOL!

I loved all the ribbon in this month's kit and didn't want to file it away, just to forget about it. I decided to use the last of my scraps combined with the ribbon to make a few simple Thank You cards. I like the funky color combinations it yielded. :)
Thanks so much for stopping by! And thanks so much for all of your kind words in the comments section. I really LOVE when you take a minute to post a little thought. It's like getting happy mail everyday! xoxoxox Thanks! ;)

Crop Addict February Kit

Debbie was so nice to upload the gallery early over at Crop Addict so that I could post my projects before leaving out of town. She's so flippin' sweet! And that means I get to share them with you on my blog before I go, too! YAY! :)

I honestly wish I had more time to play with this kit this month. It is packed full of delicious Fancy Pants and Cloud 9 papers that interchange with each other beautifully! Another great thing about the upcoming kit is that it would work for both feminine or masculine pages. Be sure and check it out!

Alright! I'm off to beautiful Anguilla tomorrow! It's 10:40 p.m. and I still need to go pack my bags. Atleast ALL the laundry in my house is DONE and it should make it a breeze to just throw in the things I want to take.

I don't think she reads my blog, but I have to thank my girlfriend, Charity, for INSISTING on taking my kids for me after school today so that I could run some errands. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have been able to run and grab a stack of scrapbook and interior design magazines to read on the plane and go to TJ Maxx to try on some swimsuits. It was dumb luck that they received just a few in today! Not that I love trying on swimsuits. I mean come on! It's always an in-your-face reminder of how out of shape and pasty white I am (hmmmm. Maybe I need to apply some self-tanner before I go! LOL!) BUT we've been so busy tying up loose ends with our home construction before we leave, that every time I thought of going to look for a suit it was after school and there was no way I was going to take four kids with me in a dressing room! :) THANKS, CHARITY!!!!

I'll try and check in with ya over the next 10 days, but I have NO IDEA what our internet will be like. So . . . ??? I'll miss you! I LOVE my internet and all my cyber friends! :) Mmmmmmwah!

XOXOXOXOXOX
Jana
