Zva Creative July DT Blog Hop!

***CLICK HERE or scroll down to the next post for the My Mind's Eye Blog Hop***

The Zva Designers are joining together today to share a project that we have created using some of our favorite Zva Creative products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a little bit of fun again this month!

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. There are 19 design team members, so be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

This Blog Hop runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, July 20th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, July, 21st on each of the winning blogs and the full list will be found on Kim Hughes' blog. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

Here is the project I created for you today.

SWEET AS CAN BE

Zva Creative Products: Blue Crystal Flourish CR-03CA-110, Blue Crystal Flourish (horizontal)CRB-03CA-110, Heavy Silk Flowers FL01CB106, 1/4" Crystal Brads BRBK02CA101.

I created this page using bits and pieces from the Sunkissed and Sonoma County Kits by Noel Mignon. The colors were inspired by the Inspiration Board #151 at Color Combos Galore.

My goal was to combine the Color Combos Transparency Product Challenge (used a Hambly Overlay as my background) with the current challenge at Noel Mignon Challenge Blog where we had to create a layout without using ANY patterned paper.

I did it! And it was so much fun to push myself to combine a couple of challenges together. :) I used cardstocks both on top of and behind the transparency. Border punches add a bit of pattern while the Zva crystal flourishes and flowers add lots of texture.

My Mind's Eye and Color Combos #149

Good Morning, Friends! And Happy 4th of July to everyone in the USA! :D

I created this page for My Mind's Eye's blog post about Celebrating Where We Live.

We love to go to the 4th of July parades each year as a family. It is a great time to reflect on how blessed we are to live where we do, to enjoy the freedoms we enjoy, and pay tribute to those who serve our country. I always get teary-eyed whenever I see my kids put their hands over their hearts to show respect for our country's flag. Saluting the flag at the beginning of the parade is my favorite part!

I used a mixture So Sophie's Charming, Savvy, and Graceful collections to obtain the red, white, blue, navy, and gold color scheme for this page. The Lush brads and gems add the perfect amount of sparkle as a finishing touch! I LOVE those Lush goodies! Such a great staple item to have on hand. :)

The Inspiration Board at Color Combos Galore this week is a delicious one! Gotta love those fun colors of the delicious cupcakes! So much inspiration can be drawn from that photo, too. The circles, the rosebud flowers, the wood in the table, . . . those sweet little mushrooms! I hope you'll come over and play along with us! :D

I know. I have scrapped these pictures before. But I just didn't love what I did with them last time, so I thought I'd play with them again. :) Please tell me, I'm not the only one that does that sometimes. :)

I used the round shape of the cupcakes to ground my photos. I pleated some Jenni Bowlin crepe paper around the edge of the circle to mimic a cupcake liner. I LOVE working on these Color Combo challenges because they get me to pull out all kinds of older and newer items in my stash and mix them together in ways I would have never thought to do on my own.

Those pink swirls are by Zva Creative (PE-03CA-111) . . . LOVE! I can't get enough of their colored pearl accents. So much fun!

This week I have lots on the docket . . . CHA samples, a birthday party for my little one with her friends, and teaching a mini book class at my church. Lots of fun to come!

I hope you have a great week!

Hugs,
Jana

Color Combos Galore #148

Color Combos Galore #148 is up and you should see all the amazing creations from the design team. I really loved these colors. So pretty, yet fun and fresh at the same time.

After School Snack Attack

I used my Cricut and the Lite Lacy Labels cartridge (available at Walmart) to create the blue white label grounding my photos. Patterned Papers are by Adornit (pink floral), Crate Paper (mustard and bright pink), and KI Memories (blue).

The letter stickers are by Making Memories (lavender), K & Company (woodtone), and American Crafts (pink).

Those gorgeous pearl flourishes are from Zva Creative (PEB-02CB-101 & PE-02CB-141). I thought they would be a fun take on the wedding cake in the photo. :) The flowers are by Petaloo, and the ribbon brads are by Imaginisce.

Come check out what's happening at Color Combos Galore and play along with us! :)

Check out this GORGEOUS Inspiration Board for this week. What a beautiful combination of colors. The extra challenge this week goes right along with the inspiration photo . . . a focus on flowers.

Patterned Papers: The Girls' Paperie; Tape: Pink Paislee ; Flowers: Oriental Trading; Crystal Accents: Zva Creative ; Paints: Shimmerz Paints ; Die Cut Letters: Making Memories Slice;Photo Effect: Be Funky.com (Old Photo 5)

For my flowers, I pulled out some Oriental Trading paper flowers I had in my stash and spruced them up with my Shimmerz Paints . I used Sky Blue Shimmerz along the edges of the flowers. Next I added lots of glam with Pixie Dust Blingz. Fun!

You can't have flowers without a little bling, right?! I added Zva Creative Crystal Flourishes (CR-03CA-111) to accent the shimmery flowers.

Be sure to head on over to Color Combos Galore to see the BIG REVEAL. You will be floored at the inspiration you'll find! Swoon!

Oh! And did you notice that cool photo effect? That's another fun feature from BeFunky.com called Old Photo 5. Here is a before and after of my picture.

This week I also completed my May Top 10 page for the My Mind's Eye Top 10 of 2010 Challenge . I don't know about your family, but May was full to the brim with end-of-year school activities and family happenings. I used the FREE Download from My Mind's Eye (CLICK HERE) to number my photos. The journaling card's lines were already numbered, so I used the corresponding spaces to list the description of each photo. How easy is that?! :) Page created using the My Mind's Eye So Sophie Savvy collection .

That's it for now!

My kids last day of school is tomorrow . . . so we will be partying it up and celebrating! Woot! Woot!

Have a great weekend!
Jana
