A Few Layouts and a Goodbye Giveaway

I used the Noel Mignon Lovely Day Kit (sold out) plus a sheet of Kraft cardstock and letter stickers from my stash to create this St. Paddy's Day page for the current Mix It Up Challenge. I love the way the green and yellow play off each other against the neutrals!

A mixed title is a really fun way to use up those random letter stickers hanging around in your stash! Give it a try and come play along with us at Mix It Up!

**************************************

Well, yesterday officially marked the last day I was a BackPorch Memories designer. I reluctantly decided to step down after a year and a half, but I knew I was ready for a change. I LOVE it there, so it was a hard decision for me! Paula's kits are such a great value and put together so well! They are really fun to work with! I love the monthly stamp club and I have really grown to love all the gals I've become friends with there. But sometimes change is good. Sometimes you just need to do something different for the sake of doing something different.

I left on great terms, and just to show you all how much I love them and want to keep supporting them, I thought that I would have a little giveaway! :D

This is the stamp set for May . . . isn't it adorable?!!! They are flying out the door, but I managed to snag a set (okay, two sets . . . I had to get one for ME!) to giveaway here on my blog. So if you would like your name tossed into a drawing for this adorable stamp set, please leave a comment on this post by Midnight, Monday, May 4th (Mountain Time). I will post a winner on Tuesday. (And YES! all of you lurking friends and family are more than welcome to join in this giveaway! . . . Heck! It might even FORCE you to post and say "hi!" to me for once! ;) LOL!)

I also thought I would post some of the layouts I did for the crop that was just held at BackPorch Memories. I hope you made it over there! It was so much fun!

This one was for an Interior Inspiration Challenge. If you know me, you know I LOVE interior design. My challenge was to use this room (from Country Home Magazine, April 2008) as inspiration for a page. I just love the colors and patterns in this room and thought there were so many directions to take it! -- I also posted a sketch to get people started, but they didn't have to use it if they didn't want to. If you're curious, check out the gallery HERE to see all the different takes on this one! Super fun!

Another challenge I hosted was called the Feeling Edgy Challenge. All I wanted people to do was create a page really concentrating on dressing up their edges, whether it be through inking, distressing, stitching, punching, tearing, etc. You get the idea. Below is my sample using the April BPM Medley kit. HERE is the gallery for that one if you are curious at seeing the takes for this challenge.

Thank you again BackPorch Memories for a wonderful experience on your design team! I'll definitely be stopping in to see how you are all doing! Best wishes and big hugs!!!

Been Scrappin' All Weekend!

I've been scrapping all weekend with the delicious BackPorch Memories April Kits! Unfortunately, this month is my turn to do the 2-page Sketches for the Member Layouts, so I can't show you the completed pages. BUT! I can show you some detail shots. :) LOL!

So for what it's worth, here are the April BackPorch Kits and the detail shots of the six 2-page layouts I created with them! ;)

APRIL SOLO featuring We R Memory Keepers Tiffany Line - $24

APRIL MEDLEY featuring Jenni Bowlin, Pink Paislee and Bo Bunny - $24

April Stamps - $13.95

There are also a few of my Mini Book kits left! :)

And my detail shots!

Okay, that's kind of unfair, so here is a card I made this weekend for the Urban Anthology Contest. It was kind of stormy out when I took this picture, so I apologize for the poor lighting.

And if you are a card-making fool, come join us over at Scrapperie! All month long we are having a Snail Mail Soiree! What's a Snail Mail Soiree?! Well, we are posting card challenges and games all month . . . yes! There will be prizes. Come over and check it out!

See ya soon! ;)

March BackPorch Medley Kit Reveal

Hello, Everyone! Tomorrow is going to be a busy day at my house (the kids are participating in their Elementary School play every night this week), so I thought that I would get up my March BackPorch Medley Kit projects tonight before heading off to bed!

Enjoy Life - For this one I cut one of the Basic Grey orange flower chipboard accent in half so that I could use it as "fluorishes" for either side of my photo block.

Family Time - This layout is based on a Becky Fleck sketch that will be featured in the March BackPorch Memories Newsletter. Can you tell I had fun playing with the Dew Drops included in the kit? LOL! I love the way they look like a mound of snow at the bottom of the tree! American Crafts Glitter Thickers are from my stash.

You Make Me Laugh Everyday - This is just a fun mix of all three manufacturers from the kit. I still laugh everytime I see this picture of Owen wearing his Christmas Show-and-Tell on the way home from school! LOL! Letter stickers and buttons are from my stash.
Waterboy - I am in love with the new chipboard pieces by Cosmo Cricket. You can purchase them as an add-on with the kit for no additional shipping charge. The journal stamp is from the October 2008 set of BackPorch Memories stamps. The Thickers are from my stash.
Thank You Card - I never seem to have enough Thank You cards around, so I decided to use my scraps to create this little number. The Pink Paislee letters stickers, epoxy brad and Prima crystal center are from previous BackPorch Memories kits. The gold jewels on the feather chipboard accent are from Adornit.

Thanks for coming by!

February BackPorch Medley Kit

It's time for the gallery reveal for the February kits at BackPorch Memories!!! And just wait until you see the gorgeous kits Paula has cooked up this month! The Solo features my favorite line of paper this year, Mia by Crate Paper. And just look at the Medley! You can't go wrong with a little bit of Collage Press Jackson Lodge, SEI Lovebirds, and My Little Yellow Bicycle Love Letters! Lovin' the colors in this kit for this time of year! :D

Here are my creations this month using the February Medley Kit and February Medley Embellishment Pack!

Love My Sister - Camryn and Maryn are the best of buds. I love seeing Camryn light up when Maryn gets home from Kindergarten and then watching them play and giggle together all afternoon. They are very good at sharing with each other and Maryn is always showering Camryn with kisses and hugs!

Obsessed - In the fall I found a bunch of nightgowns at Target and decided to get several matching sets for Maryn and Camryn (since they fight over everything). They LOOOOOVE nightgowns. Camryn immediately became completely obsessed with the Dora set. She'd wear them every single day, hardly letting me take them off of her long enough to wash them. When she couldn't find them, she would tear apart Maryn's dresser drawers, the hampers, the clean laundry piles until she found them again. If Maryn was wearing hers, Camryn would literally rip them off of her and put them on! They became the source of so much two-year-old drama in our house that they finally HAD to mysteriously "disappear". I felt so bad about it, but it was getting out of control. Sorry, Cam. I hope you'll forgive me someday. ;) The chipboard letters are from my stash.
Forest Friend - I have so many snapshots of the deer migrating through our yard each day. I wanted to create a layout about them, but the pictures I took of the group didn't have the impact I wanted it to. The deer just sort of disappeared into the background as brown specs against the trees. So I decided to focus on a good shot of just one of the deer silhouetted against a snowbank. It worked so much better! The green brads, blue labels and chipboard letters are from my stash. Hello Card - For this card I used a sheet of Petticoat paper that you can purchase as an add-on with the kit. I just love the texture it added to the white background. The Martha Stewart bakers twine is from my stash.

Don't forget that Tuesday is the last day to leave a comment on the post below to be entered in my Sharing the Love Giveaway! :D

Hugs!

Under the Weather

I'm sorry I haven't posted this week. My family and I have all been feeling under the weather. :(

Cam began the week with Pink Eye. So lots of cuddles with my girl. :( Now Cam, Owen, Kevin and I are all battling colds and aching bodies. So, needless to say, I haven't done much creating this week. :(

I do have a couple of random things to share with you though. :D

First off, here is a sneak of the BackPorch Memories February Stamp Set! Adorable!!!

The kit sneaks aren't posted yet, but I know that the Solo kit will feature the Crate Paper Mia Collection and the Medley kit will be featuring MLYB Love Letters, SEI Lovebirds, and Collage Press Jackson Lodge. You can't go wrong with either of these kits!

I was thinking about what Valentine projects I want to get started on this year and realized that I never posted a mini-album I did for Adornit last year. (I apologize the pics are so small, these are what I had saved to my computer.)

I used their Love Chipboard Album and the Love Fest paper collection. (I really love the addition of blue and black in this love-y line!)

If you love making mini books and altered items, you really ought to browse through what Adornit has to offer! So many cool items!

Here are more links to the Adornit items I used for this book: Love Chipboard Album, Valentine Stripe Paper, Circle of Love Paper, Scarlet Love Paper, Love Fest Words, Love Fest Flowers Paper, Valentine's Motif Paper, XOXO Paper, Love Fest Stickers, 3-D I Love You Stickers, White Lowercase Foam Alpha Stickers, Tiny Alpha Stickers, Black Foam Alphabet, Scalloped Journal Stamp,Swirly Scrolls Stamp, Swirls for Sentiments Stamp, Journal Box Stamp, Sophisticated Tags Stamps, Picture Perfect Stamp, Black Floral Ribbon, and Polka Red Ribbon

Well, that's it for now!
I hope you and your family are well and happy wherever you are!
I'm hoping I can get back to scrapping soon!

Hugs!
Jana
