Be mine with sprinkles on top

Hey ya'll it's Twine Time!!  As soon as I spied the new paper pack CRUSH by Authentic I knew I had to have those blue pink and black papers and that I would definately have the Twine to match.
To be honest I fussed over this card for days until I finally walked away from it.  A few days later I picked it up again and wondered what I fussed over.  I thought it looked cute. LOL

I used the Solid Caribean blue twine from The Twinery and tied it around the card mats.
Then I cut triangles from pattern paper and attached them with 3D foam tape.
It's that easy to make a banner.
The heart shaped donut is called HOLE LOT and it's a digital stamp from Whimsie Doodles

I used Strawberry Twine to tie in the colours of the papers and the sentiment.
The Elephant digi stamp used is called Nuts about You and it's from Whimsie Doodles.

For this card the natural light washed out the colours of the Strawberry twine but it was a perfect fit for this card.
The digital stamp used for this card is called OWL and it's from Whimsie Doodles.

I'm lacing up my twine

Today as a team member of The Twinery I was challenged to create a decor piece using twine. So as I was painting figure skates black and stuffing them with winter greenery I thought to myself why can't I use these as outside decor.  It's meant to decorate your door but it could also hang on walls and the twine is perfect for laces on the skates.
I choose The Twinery white and Maraschion Shimmer because it reminds me of candy canes and plus it GLITTERS!!  The second skate a more vintage look with the solid Maraschion twine and rusty bells.

The trick to thread to skates is to wrap tight each twine end with tape or cooled to touch hot glue.  It will create a hardened end and will easily push through the skate eyelets.

You know what I love about being on The Twinery Design Team?  It's having to work with the gorgeous colours and being able to just play.  My assignment? Anything but a card.  Since Christmas is getting sooo close I thought it would be fun to make some ornaments.  The great thing is the Twine can be used as an accent and function.
I used the matte black glitter Twine to add some sparkle to my little snowman ornaments.

here are some other projects I made using The Twinery Twine

Felt Owl and Twine wearable

So it was my turn to show you a wearable way to use twine from The Twinery and I thought I would make a little owl brouch.  Here's what I did.

1. Cut 2 owl body shapes from felt plus 2 small circles of white felt for eyes.
2. Cut a piece of fabric for the belly of the owl.
 3. I used fusiable webbing to "glue" the fabric to the felt.  This was just to keep it in place so I can sew it.
 4. I used the webbing to glue the eyes and beak.  Again to keep everything in place to hand stictch later.
 5. Since the Twine is made up of 4 strands I seperated them into 2 halves.  This made it easier to thread through a needle.
 6. Before completely stitching around the owl I lightly stuffed it. I added just enough to give it a puffy look not a stuffed look. (it that makes sense )  :)
 7. Now I hot glued a strip of self adhering velcro to the owl back.
Now all I had to do was wrap the velcro around my dogs collar and she's my little fashionesta

or you can add a broach pin or hair clip to the back.  In this one I used the remaining 2 strands of twine and threaded it through some beads, tied a knot at the end and ta-da legs!!

The Twinery Caribbean blog hop

Hi ya'll welcome to The Twinery Blog hop. Today I thought I try something fun (I know I'm out of season but it's never to late for a snowman) . I braided the solid Caribbean twine from The Twinery into a long rope then cut it in 3 sections and braided them again.  I painted a face on a large white cloths pin and glued star buttons.

You can get Caribbean in striped or solid.

Here is the list of hop sites.

Sam E. Snowman

I have some really exciting news to share with you.  Tomorrow A Jillian Vance Design will be releasing my first ever die set!!! Eeeek.  I had some time to give it a test run and I couldn't be more please.  My new wood grain stamp is coming tomorrow as well, at first I was a little nervous about it but once I started stamping I fell in love.  It's not you typical skinny wood grain stamp this one is big and bold.  It definitely has a whimsical playful look to it.  I hope you like it as much as I do. :)

Here we go with Sam E. Snowman die set and my wood grain background

Now I've got some cards made by using the "empty" or negative space the die leaves.  I used clear card stock to behind the snowman so I could glue the scarf and buttons on, now everything looks like it's floating on the card.

Check out my other stamps here.

Camping Thanks

A little twine and a dash of veneer makes for a great campfire card.  I love the new style of placing sequins on a card but since I don't have any I replaced them with wood stars.   The stamps I used are from Whimsie Doodles new collaboration with A Jillian Vance Design called Happy Trails.  Cappuccino twine was used to tie the button.
I'd love to own a sun die but since I lack that particular tool I have to improvise and the brad punch  for the iTop braddies is a perfect option for me.
