Way to go DUDE!

Hi all.  I skipped by TGF challenge blog and found my card as the Mystery Monday challenge.  How cool is that??  I was so thrilled about it that I sat down and CASEd my own card.  Stop by TGF challenge blog and play along (they have a prize for one lucky player).
Here's my card.
I used Dress Me Anya and Ian and Wardrobe2 from The Greeting Farm to make this card.  Sorry there are no links to these sets as I can not locate them in the store.

Hang in there

As you probably know I love to make paper piecings and couldn't resist making two more birdhouses. I think the sentiment "hang in there" is more appropriate for these cards don't you?  I made two cards but couldn't bring myself to make them identical, LOL.   I've also updated my Etsy shop and included these cards.  I can't believe I'm actually letting of some of my cards!!

Blue Skies Verve Card Set

I had a such blast putting together cards for the Anni-Verve-sary sketch challenge that I decided to make a second batch.  Only this time I wanted to go way out on a limb with the sketches.  So I went back to my favorite way of making cards and created little paper pieced images.  I tried to use basic shapes for everything.
Here are my cards and the sketchs.
Sketch A-Smiles

Sketch B-You make me smile

Sketch C-Welcome Back
Spellbinders Circle and Flower Dies
DP-Fly a Kite-October Afternoon

Sketch D-You make me smile
Martha Stewart Icicle border punch to make the grass.
Circle punches for the belly, eyes and flowers

Sketch E-Blue skies
Spellbinders circle and heart dies
Free hand the clouds
May Arts Hemp string

Here's a little sketch of how I made the Owl.
I basically start with a rectangle.
Then clip on a diagnal off the sides. Use the access to make the Owl ears.
Use a corner rounder on the edges.
2 small circles and 1 larger for the eyes and belly.

Materials

October Afternoon-Go Fly a Kite
Flower and circles Die-Spellbinders
Ranger distress ink-Vintage Photo
May Arts hemp string

I've been asked if I cover the stitching on the inside of my cards.  You can see pretty much all the stitching of my cards.  I don't cover them up, I think it's part of the charm of a homemade stitched card.  All the thread ends are tied in a knot so they don't "let go" later.

Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch Challenges

Verve stamps are having an anniversary and they are celebrating with a sketch challenge.  I am starting to get into sketches and just had to give Verve a try.  Here are my cards based on the Verve Sketches.
To find out more and where to post your cards visit the Verve Challenge thread.
I used the same colletction of DP to make the cards look more like a set of 5.

Viva La Verve Week 1

Today I actually used a stamp set that I won.  I can't believe I've managed to use it so quickly. LOL.  Well there's a very good reason for using it.  See I'm going to try and do all of the challenges for Verve this month.  It's called Viva La Verve and the challenge is to make a card based on a sketch AND one of the 3 bedrooms they post.  So it's a sketch plus colour challenge all in one.  So here's my first ever Verve card.
If you want to find out more about the challenge click here.
