I had a such blast putting together cards for the
Anni-Verve-sary sketch challenge that I decided to make a second batch. Only this time I wanted to go way out on a limb with the sketches. So I went back to my favorite way of making cards and created little paper pieced images. I tried to use basic shapes for everything.
Here are my cards and the sketchs.
Sketch A-Smiles
Sketch B-You make me smile
Sketch C-Welcome Back
Spellbinders Circle and Flower Dies
DP-Fly a Kite-October Afternoon
Sketch D-You make me smile
Martha Stewart Icicle border punch to make the grass.
Circle punches for the belly, eyes and flowers
Sketch E-Blue skies
Spellbinders circle and heart dies
Free hand the clouds
May Arts Hemp string
Here's a little sketch of how I made the Owl.
I basically start with a rectangle.
Then clip on a diagnal off the sides. Use the access to make the Owl ears.
Use a corner rounder on the edges.
2 small circles and 1 larger for the eyes and belly.
Materials

I've been asked if I cover the stitching on the inside of my cards. You can see pretty much all the stitching of my cards. I don't cover them up, I think it's part of the charm of a homemade stitched card. All the thread ends are tied in a knot so they don't "let go" later.
