Love hurts!

Isn't this little guy the cutest little nurse ever?? She's called Love Bear and she's from The Greeting Farm. They are also have a challege "Don't be Square". Which means they are looking for cards that are not square or rectangle in shape. This is what inspired me to make these cards.

I used an embossing folder (Cuttlebug) to make the dimples of the bandaid.

Magical Unicorn Cards Digital Stamp

Here are some cards I made using The Greeting Farms digital Unicorn stamp. I'm entering these cards in a contest over at the Greeting Farm. You have to make cards using this unicorn stamp, name the unicorn and tell why it's magical. I'm not so great at the "why" part but I'll try. Every image was printed on CTMH cardstock and coloured using Pantone markers.

Life is so good with you in it.
Meet Love and Lee.
Mom and son unicorns, they are Cupid's Ponies. You can't help but feel warm and fuzzy when they are near. They love to play and love all things in life.

Sweet Little Lady
This is Misty, she is the unicorn of little girls giggles. She loves to visit little girls who gather together to play. She's the reason they giggle, like to pretend and just plain be silly. She is a Princess Unicorn of dress up land, where there is always a tea party going on. Kinda like Alice in Wonderland except there is no Mad Hatter!

I created this card using watercolour pencils and baby wipes. Click here for a tutorial on how to make a similar background.
I won First Place for the Magical Unicorn card contest at The Greeting Farm for this card.

And last but not least meet Dusk he only comes out as the sun is setting. His coat and mane are camoflauge for just such a time. He is the Unicorn of late night inspiration for all those paper crafters who stay up late creating. You know he has visited because his hoves leave a trail of glitter behind. And your head is swimming with ideas. I love Dusk!!

Seize the Cupcake

Bisous has a paper line that are pre-designed quick pages called PDQ pages (Pretty Darn Quick….I think that is what they are called), all you have to do is add photos and journaling. I took one of these pages and cut it up to make cards. There are so many beautiful patterns on one page I couldn’t just make a page with it, I had to spread it out and make a couple of cards. Here is a card I just finished.

I wanted to add another matt around the Piggies because the white just wasn’t standing out enough but I didn’t want the “weight” of another colour. My solution? I inked the edges of a clear sheet from Short Cuts. Now I have an “invisible” layer with a touch of colour. You probably can’t see it but I also hand stitched little pearls on the lace.

A Valentine for the Kiddos

I thought it would be cute to make a Valentine for a child, something fun and bright that speaks to them. So what I made was a gift card holder except it holds “coupons” instead of a gift card. The coupons are for 1 treat, 2 hugs and kisses and 1 day of not making your bed!! What do you think? Do you think a little boy or girl would like this. What other "coupons" could I include for this project?

Birthday Card SC200 challenge

Let me tell you about a new paper kit from CTMH called “Key to my Heart”. Wow what a beautiful collection of patterns and colours. At first I couldn’t bring myself to cut them because they were so pretty!! Did this ever happen to you?
Well I finally got the nerve to slice into the papers and well everything became a blur of inspiration and before I knew it I had completed 5 projects. You’ll see most of them next month. But here is one card I can share now.

Wagon load of Love

This morning I decided to blow the dust off an old stamp of mine and actually use it for the first time. I got the idea from a SU set “Loads of Fun”, since I do not have that set I thought the wagon and the many other stamps I do own would do the trick. I’m thinking I may actually get some half decent use out of this stamp after all.

Thank you for stopping by. I wanted to share this card with you today for two reasons. First it was my first attempt at using markers. I'm starting to see more and cards beautifully coloured using Copic Markers and then a light came on. I have Pantone Markers!! Oh my I had them all along stashed away. What a CRIME!! So I blew the dust of them and started colouring.

My Second reason is...I made this card for my friend, I think she's the greatest mom ever (besides my mom) and this image of a little girl and her mom cuddling reminded me so much of Laura that I had to make her a card with this stamp. I even tried to make the hair match!

So here's to Laura, your the best girlfriend.

Love Melyssa
