Contrary to what you might think

I have not fallen off the face of the earth.

Rather, we had guests everyday last week which took a lot of time and commitment. Since we had turnover every other day, there was a lot of laundry to keep up with to provide fresh towels and sheets. Pearl also had a cold that week so we were trying to get her better. She has since passed it on to her Daddy, whom is quite the big, brown bear when under the weather.

We have also been on VACATION!!

It wasn't enough to travel for Christmas and then entertain, but we also packed up for a vacation to the mountains of Virginia.

It has been a wonderful week filled with tubing, snowboarding, watching Pearl see snow for the first time, visiting the nearby areas, and also visiting a college buddy of mine who lives near D.C.

Pearl absolutely loves the snow! She was always pointing to the door wanting to go out and play and once outside does not want to come back in for anything. She also seems to think it's summer by removing her socks, only keeping a short sleeve shirt on and rolling her pants up to shorts.

Too much fun! Once the post-vacation laundry is caught up and another visit by family is complete (this weekend), I plan on posting my New Years Resolutions and continuing thoughts on Pearl's food allergies and looking more into Naturals and Organics as staples in our diet.

The Christmas Tour

We're getting excited for our upcoming Christmas Tour. Normally we split the holidays and spend Thanksgiving with one family and Christmas with another. This year, we are doing what we've dubbed The Tour. No, we will not be on bicycle. We will start by spending Friday thru Sunday with DH's family 2 hours south of home. Then we drive 5 hours north to my mother to spend Monday thru Sunday with her and my siblings.

We're hoping for cooler temperatures as we've had an un usually warm weather thus far into December.

Where are you traveling to this Christmas Season? Or who is coming to visit you? Any special Christmas traditions you'd like to share?

Light Blogging

(Liz with our Best Man, Tim)

I'll probably post again next week since I get to meet up with one of my bestest friends whom I haven't seen in a year!!!

Our friend, Liz, entered the convent last Sept. and is making her first home visit. So we are off to meet her tomorrow after work then driving straight through to spend the weekend with DH's family. Hopefully, we'll have some pics to share when we return. Have a great weekend!

Lazy afternoons

This was my favorite spot to rest on our vacation. A gift from my DH for Christmas while we were dating. Thank goodness he understands my whims.

From the hammock, I could catch some of the breezes and watch the waves roll in. I also spent a good portion of that time reading my new book, A Still, Small Voice by Fr. Benedict Groeschel.

The book club I am a member of is reading this for our August meeting. As I continue along, I hope to share some thoughts.

Back to ordinary time...

We traveled back home from our family vacation this afternoon. We had a lovely visit, and I hope to post some pics tomorrow. Tonight, my eyes are tired. Stupid night vision from tired eyes. The computer screen appears a bit hazy. Sleepy time.

Family Vacation

We're off to Cocoa Beach for a few days with DH's family. So excited to spend some time with them. Really excited that my lovely sister-in-law is flying in from CO for the week! Blogging will be light for a few days.

However, some extra prayers would be greatly appreciated as I am battling a few interior issues at the moment. Thanks.

Holiday

We just got back from visiting my mother this past weekend. A tough weekend, but glad that we were able to go. I remarked on our drive back how drained I felt. Truly, in just being there in the situation, as it is, was so exhausting.

So now we are home, but my husband's parents are visiting our area for a week. So balancing between work and ministry obligations and the family in town. Should be fun though! I really do enjoy the month of July. Although, I think August and October are my favorites.

I hope to get some more images/pictures up soon. But due to the summer trips, not sure how soon that can be done.

In the meantime, I did have the chance to see the movie, Ratatouille, over the weekend with my mother and sister. We highly enjoyed it, and I recommend this movie to others as well. But if you won't take my word for it... Here's another review
