Baptism Planning

I am taking suggestions!!!

We are planning Pearl's baptism, set for October 4th (the feast of St. Francis), and I am trying to get a menu set. The baptism will take place at our Parish's 5PM Mass and then we are inviting guests to celebrate with us afterwards. I would like to offer foods that have "religious significance" to the baptism. So if you have ideas, tips, stories of your own to share, suggestions, etc. BRING THEM ON! Thanks.

The Christmas Tour

We're getting excited for our upcoming Christmas Tour. Normally we split the holidays and spend Thanksgiving with one family and Christmas with another. This year, we are doing what we've dubbed The Tour. No, we will not be on bicycle. We will start by spending Friday thru Sunday with DH's family 2 hours south of home. Then we drive 5 hours north to my mother to spend Monday thru Sunday with her and my siblings.

We're hoping for cooler temperatures as we've had an un usually warm weather thus far into December.

Where are you traveling to this Christmas Season? Or who is coming to visit you? Any special Christmas traditions you'd like to share?

I saw this today and was awestruck. My heart is yearning for some retreat time; To "go away with God." I'll need to look for some remote monasteries/convents that I could retreat at.

It's been a good 2 years since I've been on a solid retreat. One where I was truly nourished and spent some time away with God. There are some offered in my area, but they are at inopportune times with work schedule or are way too costly. Any good retreat ideas out there?
