Sugar Challenge #25

Today I went to my parent's house where I crafted the day away with my Mom and Gram!  We had so much fun and I got VERY inky! :)  I made a card using the Sugar Bowl Sketch....a chance to win 12 sugars....that's like heaven!!!  The addition to the sketch was to use your FAVORITE color...I bet you can't guess what mine is?!?!
Yep...........It's PINK!!!!

I'm cutting it VERY close to the deadline to get this cutie uploaded....so I will come back later and edit to give you all the details on the card along with a recipe!  :)

ETAI used Hug in a Mug for my card!  Papers are Making Memories - Sabrina Collection.  Of course I have colored Miss Sugar with my Copics.  I used my new deep edge MS lattice heart punch behind my image...I'm loving those deep edge punches!!!  Tulle and ribbon used for some added depth.

A close up of Miss Hug In A Mug:

I have added Star Dust Stickles to this girlie's earmuffs and the end of her scarf.  My Black and Silver Spicas were used on the hot cocoa mug for some added sparkle.  Crystal Stickles was added to the snowflakes along with pearl centers.

Here I have made a ribbon rose!  I can't find where I found the tutorial.  Darn ..... thought I had it bookmarked in my computer and do you think I can find it!  If I do find it I will post the link in here.  I love the look this adds especially with using that silver lined ribbon!

I really dislike taking pictures at night with my Ott Lite...I'd rather have the daylight....but this will work!

Sugar Bowl - Challenge 18

Alright...I got as much play time in as I could within the last few days because tomorrow school starts! Ahhhhh...where did summer go? I'm so sad to be starting classes already....but I am finally getting into my Accounting classes so at least this semester will be interesting to me (instead of all the gen. eds.)

I have so many new stamps that are waiting around and wanting to be ink'd up! I thought I would join the girls over at the Sugar Bowl....Gayle does such a lovely job running the group over there! I love to play along with the DT when I have some free time! I grabbed one of my Gorjuss Girls who was crying to get ink'd and gave her some love!

I used my MME Bloom n' Grow papers that have been sitting on my desk (also waiting for play time!!!) I love how beautiful these papers are, and thought I would make a fun, bright, summer card before fall arrives.
My Gorjuss Girl was colored with Copics and Twinkling H2o's were added to her dress and boots to add a little bit of shimmer.

Here is a view where I tried to capture the shimmer from the H20's on her beautiful dress:
A lot of the items that I used can be found at 7 Kids College Fund! Tab has an awesome array of products!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Gorjuss Girl Poppy Fields by Sugar Nellie
Inks:
Momento Tuxedo Black, Copics, Twinkling H20s
Papers: Neenah Ultrasmooth; My Minds Eye Bloom n' Grow, SU cardstock
Tools: Scor-Pal (to fold my cards), Tonic Cutter, EK Success leaf punch, Sizzix Swirls,
Embellishments:
flowers cut from MME paper, rhinestones, buttons and lace are from my stash

Well I best get going to bed since I have to be up early....and I'm definitely not used to being up at 5:30AM! Wish me luck tomorrow....hopefully the day goes by fast! 8 hours in school is a long day....I swear going to school is definitely harder than working a full-time job!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

A Gorjuss Graduation!

We had a friend who recently graduated from college and she was also promoted to 2nd. Lt. in the U.S. Army! I incorporated the two major accomplishments into a card for her! I altered this Gorjuss Girl to hold a handmade diploma instead of her letter, gave her a graduation cap and she was all ready to go! Our friend's college colors were red and green, hence the colors of the card! Then on the inside of the card I incorporated the U.S. Army seal (that I found by searching the internet and printed it on cardstock)!
Recipe:
Stamps: Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girl from Collection 1; Stampendous Graduation Words
Inks: Momento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Papers: SU cardstock and dp, DCWV Congratulations dp
Tools: WOW - another card with no tools (besides my scissors)
Embellishments:
roses, Primas, other flowers from HL, ribbon, tulle, floss and brad from my stash.
I will be leaving for vacation on Saturday! Woo-Hoo! I will schedule some posts for while I am gone to keep you inspired! :)

Happy Gorjuss Graduation!

My dear friend graduated from college today! She is also my car pooling buddy so I am truly going to be lost next year without her! Her favorite color is pink and when I found some black and pink zebra ribbon the other day I knew I had to buy it to make her Graduation card! I found this diploma looking card in a magazine and thought it was super cute so I thought I would give it a try!
And what card is complete without a Gorjuss Girl on it! Of course I had to make her a Gorjuss Graduation Girl!!! Here is the inside of the card:
And a close up of Miss Gorjuss in her Graduation Cap!
And here is the inside of the card with the small card that I added to the envelope!
Yes, I just can't get enough of those fabulous paper flowers that I have been creating!
Are you getting sick of seeing them yet?
Don't you love it when your end product turns out even better than what you have planned in your head? That is very much how I felt when I finished this one and couldn't wait to get to the party to give my friend her card....which by the way she loved! YAY! Love it when that happens!

My final exams are now all done! I am so relived and just anxiously awaiting my grades now....but am so happy that how it is crafty time for me! I can't wait to share more fun projects with you and get back to blogging....I have been really out of the loop lately! Hope you are having a fabulous weekend!

Sketch Saturday #48

My Mom's friend's Mother passed away recently, so I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday to create this sympathy card for her.

I used Reflection by Sugar Nellie which was colored with my Copics. Cardstock is SU and dp is MME (I just love these papers). I used my nesties, MS border punch, and EK Success leaf punch. I covered up the apples with flower soft (spring mix) in her basket. Ribbon and flowers were from my stash. Sentiment stamp is from the $1 bin at Michaels. A close up of my coloring....although I just noticed from my picture that I goofed up a little and colored outside of her sleeve. Oooppps!
Then we have the finished inside. This would be the left side of the card.
And I carried the sketch through to the right side of the inside of the card.
I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and a GREAT weekend! I will be busy writing some literature papers this weekend....ICK....but only 2 more weeks and then I am on break until the middle of June (when summer classes start)! Woo-Hoo!
Thanks for stopping by!

CBCC #34...Toys Toys Toys

This week's challenge at CBCC is Inspiration Station: Toys! Pick your child's, niece's, nephew's, or even your favorite childhood toy and use it as inspiration for your creation. At first I was scared of this challenge....but then after I thought about it I had a fabulous idea. When we were little my sister's favorite game was CANDY LAND....I played that with her many many many times! I used lollipops for the inspiration of my card! I thought it would be very cute to put a Gorjuss Girl sitting on top of a lollipop. I created the lollipop with my nesties (after I chose the colors I thought "oh no it looks like a bulls eye target" but after I gave it a stick and found my paper I thought it looked more like a lollipop then). Paper is DCWV and SU cardstock in Red Riding Hood. I used my Quickutz flourish die, and EK Success swirl punch. Ribbon and flowers are from my stash.
I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers...I just turned the sketch upside down so that the ribbon wouldn't be hidden from the lollipop. Finally, a close up of Miss. Gorjuss! I colored her with my Copics.
Now, make on sure you head on over to the other chickies blogs (you can find their links in my side bar) to see the fabulous creations they have made. I can't wait to see what you make and what your inspiration is! Make sure you link your creation to Courtney's Blog for your chance to win some goodies!

First I want to wish everyone a Very Hoppy Easter!!!! Hope you are having a blessed day and the Easter Bunny was good to you all! We are enjoying time with family today! Right now we stopped home before heading over to my Grandparents house for dinner, so I thought I would upload a card to share with you all!

As of last night, I still had to make my parents' Easter card and I wanted to use one of my new Gorjuss Girls so I decided to take a hop over to the Sugar Bowl Challenge blog and this week's challenge is to use Tiet's fabulous sketch! WOW what a wonderful and fun sketch...I know I will be using this one MANY times!!! Here's the sketch:
And here's my take on the sketch! I used my Bo Bunny papers (oh I am so in love with this collection...it's the Alissa collection (which also happens to by my sister's name so I love the paper even more!!!) Stamps are Sugar Nellie's Gorjuss Girl, the little chick is from the WOJ spring collection, the swirl is from the yummy SU set, and the eggs are from Stamps & Smiles Egg Hunt set. All images were colored with my Copics, and I used a little bit of my NEW Twinkling H2Os on the Gorjuss Girl! I used my EK Success branch punch, and my Fiskars egg punch (thanks again mom I love this cute punch!). Flowers and ribbon (raffia is from Rach...thanks darling I am so in love with this!!!) are from my stash.
Here's a close up of Miss. Gorjuss herself....what a sweetheart she is!
And of course the inside:
Used MS border punch, and Stampendous Happy Easter stamp.
Again, I hope everyone is enjoying this day!

This week was a super fun challenge for me! Courtney has challenged us to see what we can create with soda pop tops!!!! I have been collecting pop tops since January for this fun challenge! I made a fun ribbon-border with my pop tops! The sketch I used was from over at Sketch Saturday...what a great sketch, I know I will be using this one again!

The Gorjuss Girl that I used is a Sugar Nellie stamp (one that I colored way back during spring break...and just finally got around to making something with her....I so love these Gorjuss Girls and can't wait to get my 2nd group!) Papers used are DCWV Garden Stack, MM dp, and SU cardstock. Miss Gorjuss was colored with my copics. Raffia ribbon is from my dear friend Rach, love you hun for getting me this!!! I used my EK Success punch for the bottom border and MS branch punch. Pink ribbon, glitter dots, and flower from my stash. The pink swirlies under my flower is my new pink scrappers floss that I just got from my friend Susana's Store.

Sugar Bowl Challenge #1 & BIG NEWS!

At first I didn't think I would be able to play along in the Sugar Bowl Challenge....but then I remembered a few months back Gayle sent me some wonderful Sugar Nellie images to play with! Thank you so much Gayle! I so need to purchase some of these stamps so I can continue to play along. I really wanted to play along with this challenge as the prize is 3 sets of Promarkers! I would so love to get my inky hands on those! :)

This image is called Pickin' Apples. Isn't she just darling?! I had lots of fun coloring her with my Copics, and of course I added some stickles to her bow and hat. Highlights were made with my white gel pen. I used glossy accents on the apples, even though it hard to see it in the picture. Papers are a combinations of Basic Grey Euphoria, Creative Memories, and some scraps from my stash. Of course I had to use my corner punches (if you would like to get some, head on over to Wish On A Scrap)! I really do love them! I got some new spacers the other day, so I had to use one on my flower. Flowers, charm, and ribbon from my stash.
And the finished inside! I really like how the inside of this one turned out! Wish me luck on this challenge...I would LOVE to have some more markers to color with!
