I Heart Ya Notepad Holder

Happy Friday!!!  I hope you all have some fun planned for this weekend!  I will be working on my advertising project for a presentation next week, and of course studying for my finals which also are next week....but after next week I only have ONE MORE SEMESTER left of school!  It is so exciting to know that graduation is getting closer....I never thought this time would come!! I'm looking forward to starting my internship as well!

Today I have a fun SCACD project to share with you!  At my last craft show I had a customer order a reuseable notepad holder for her 19 year old daughter for Christmas!  And this is what I came up with:
I thought it turned out absolutely beautiful....I so love when things turn out better then planned!  I hope my customer likes it as much as I do! :) I've used the cutie pie I Heart Ya by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD from the Sampler Edition #3.  Isn't she so sweet....perfect for any occasion....birthday, sympathy, thinking of you, or any holiday!  Papers are from K&Company Amy Butler Lotus collection!
This little darling was colored with Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  I've popped her up onto a SB Labels 14 which was matted with a nellie snellen die which was accented with 3mm pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts...they have a huge selection of colors available in the self adhesive pearls!!!
Flowers are also from Wild Orchid Crafts and consist of one of the NEW SMALLER Flat Gardenias!  I've also used 20mm roses, and 8mm semi-open roses (which have been airbrushed to match the color theme of the notepad holder), and clear crystal stems.  The bottom edge of the notepad holder has been accented with 5mm pearls.
Finally I took some white fabric Thickers and airbrushed  them to match my color theme and then added lots of Diamond Stickles to add some sparkle to the project.

I hope you have enjoyed the project!  I forgot to take a picture of the inside before I packaged it up for shipping!  I am going to be making some more of these so I will make sure to remember to take a picture of the inside for you then! :)

***Don't forget to check out the AMAZING NEW PRODUCTS in over at the SCACD store!!!***  You can find New Flower Soft colors, New Dreamweaver Stencils, and New Inkadinkado Stamps!  Click -->HERE<-- to see them!!!  Happy Shopping!!!

MAMM #5 - Ornaments

Happy Monday to you all!  Wow what a weekend I had.  On Saturday and Sunday my mom and I were are craft shows.  We had a booth and were selling our crafts...this year we had an amazing display board for all of our cards that my amazing hubby made for us!  I took pictures, and will share them with you this week! :) We had a successful weekend and are looking very forward to the De Pere High School craft fair the end of this month!

Today is Make a Mess Monday (MAMM) over at SCACD!  Oh how I LOVE  making my messes!  Our challenge this month was to Decorate Ornaments using my ultimate FAVORITE product Viva Decor Precious Metals!  Seriously if you haven't ordered any Precious Metals from Susana you REALLY REALLY REALLY NEED to get some!  These are the most amazing metallic paints that I have ever worked with!  I still am amazed every time that I use them that they only take ONE COAT to cover your surface!  My hubby was even surprised at how awesome they are!

Here I took a wooden snowflake ornament and covered it with Viva Decor Blue Azure Precious Metals paint.  This is my ultimate favorite color, as the blue is so beautiful but it also have a gorgeous silver tint to it.  When you paint with this color on wood the silver in the color defines the wood grains.  I absolutely love this one!

Then to accent the snowflake's edges I took my Viva Decor Glitter Liner in Hologram and outlined the whole snowflake...love the extra glitter and sparkles!  What I really love about the Viva Glitter Liners is that they hold their shape when you use them....meaning that when I made the edging around the snowflake it creates a "ridge" adding dimension.  Love it!  Then I took my Viva Decor Light Blue Pearl Pen and added some custom sized pearls that were a perfect fit for my snowflake!

My second ornament today is again taking a wooden ornament and this time painting it with Viva Decor Blackberry Precious Metals.  Like the Blue Azur the Blackberry also has that gorgeous tint of silver in it!  This is another of my favorite colors from these paints!

How about these flowers?  These are the NEW Petaloo Velvet Hydrangeas!  Oh my word are they absolutely gorgeous and add the perfect amount of elegance to this ornament.  The flower arrangement is then finished using some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers consisting of 4mm closed rosebuds, mulberry GypsophilaRose leaves, and pearl sprays.  To accent the ornament my Viva Decor Rose Paper Pen was used to again add some custom sized pearls.

I hope you have enjoyed.  Make sure you head over to the SCACD Blog to check out what the other Messy Girls have made! :)

**SHOPPING NEWS**Susana has some fabulous new goodies in at SCACD! Have you seen the new Basic Grey Curio and Marjolaine Collections?!  Oh my goodness I love them both!  Then you have to check out the My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy collections, Tickled Pink and True Blue, both are so adorable!  The Petaloo Red Velvet Pointsettia Flowers are back in stock along with some super cute Gingerbread People and beautiful assortment of leaves!  Looking for a unique Christmas card grab some Dreamweaver Embossing Paste and this NEW Dreamweaver Ornament Stencil to create some breath taking cards!  Finally make sure to check out the NEW fun colors of Sparkly Fluff...gotta love sparkles!  Happy Shopping!

MAMM #4 - Precious Metals

WOW it's already October....can you believe it?  And seeing how it's the 1st Monday of the Month that means it's Make A Mess Monday over at SCACD!  This month Marti and I are showcasing Viva Decor Precious Metals!  When I first saw these paints at CHA I totally fell in love and was sooooo excited when Susana brought them into the SCACD Store!  Precious Metals is a metallic paint, very opaque (which I totally love) and can be applied to any type of surface (wood, metal, glass, plastic, to name a few)!  I also love the shimmery metallic finish them give all with one coat of paint!
My first project showcases how you can use these paints on glass!  I've decorated a clear glass candle holder.  First I took my Silver Precious Metals and applied paint to the top 3/4ths of the candle holder.  While the Silver was still wet, I added some Blue Azure Precious Metals in streaks to mix with the silver.  If you look at the top right side of the candle holder you will see the mixture of the two colors.  The bottom part of the candle holder was painted with just the Blue Azure.  I then added some ribbon and BG rhinestone snowflake to finish off the candle holder.
For my 2nd project I show cased how you can use these paints on plastic, by making a refrigerator magnet.  I started with large square Tim Holtz Fragment, which is a piece of plastic.  I then took my Viva Decor Pink Precious Metals and applied two coats to my fragment.  While I was waiting for the paint to dry, colored my BRAND NEW Rose Petal by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD.  She is one of the newbies in the Mini Sample Edition #1 Set by Elisabeth Bell exclusively for SCACD!  Of course she was colored with Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  Then I glued my image on top of my painted fragment, added a magnet to the back and this cutie is all set to decorate a refrigerator!

I hope you have enjoyed my Viva Decor Precious Metals crations!  You can find the amazing selection of colors in the Precious Metals -->HERE<--!  Now make sure you head over to the SCACD Blog to see what the ultra talented Marti has created using these amazing Viva Decor Precious Metal Paints!

A Henry Christmas!

Christmas....I know it's over....however this is the present that I made for my Gram, and since she reads my blog and I didn't give her the gift until this past Wednesday I couldn't share with you before! :)  But now Gram has her present and I can share it with all of you!

Of course you know that WOJs are my ultimate favorite stamps!  When I first started buying them Gram loved them....so for Christmas I made Gram her own image holder and of course stamped numerous images for her which went along with -->THIS<-- card that I made for Gram and Gramps.

This is Henry Mouse with Christmas Bauble!  I used the matchbox technique to create this slider box.  I tweeked the measurements so that finished box measured 6 x 6.  Papers are from the BG Figgy Pudding Collection and Bazzill Bling Cardstock.

Henry was colored with my CopicsLiquid applique was added to his hat.  Before I heat set the liquid applique I sprinkled it with glitter to add some sparkle to the fluff.  The snowflake on Henry's ornament was painted with Moonlight Smooch and the ornament topper was painted with Snickerdoodle Smooch for some added metallic shine.

Here you can see the images in the holder, already for Gram to color away!

And of course a side view for you to see the dimension.

My Beautiful Christmas Card from My Hubby!

I had to laugh so hard this Christmas!  Last year I gave my hubby a hard time for not getting me a card....he said he didn't have time to get to the store to get a card and I told him he should have went in my craft room and made one.  His remark at that was that he couldn't use my stuff because he would use the "wrong" thing and I would be mad!  I told him that he could use my most favorite paper and embellishments and it wouldn't matter because it would be a card I would treasure forever!

Well this year he must have remembered what I said because this is the card I got:

He told me he wanted his "own" watermark!

Isn't that adorable?  He's so funny!  I asked him why no dp paper or glitter and sparkles and his response was that when he was trying to make my card he went into my craft room and was pretending to wrap my present.  After 1 1/2 hours later he came out with one decorative box (no wrapping paper involved) and I was like what the heck took you so long....of course he just smiled and I was like whatever.  Then when we went to my parents house for Christmas and opened our presents and I saw this card I knew what took him 1 1/2 hours in the other room that night!  He said he couldn't use any punches or things because I was in the room right next to him and I would have heard everything and knew something was up.  He said he was trying to be so quiet going through my embellishment drawers to try and find stuff to decorate the card with...he did find the "love" sticker! :)  I think he did wonderfully!

For the past couple days he's been asking me if I put his card on my blog yet....I think he secretly wants to be blogland famous!  LOL!  He says he is a "natural" born cardmaster where I had to "learn" to make cards!  Oh that guy cracks me up!  Love him to pieces!

As you can tell by the card my present from my hubby this year was a trip to Vegas!!!!  I am so excited and can't wait to go!  We are planning our trip over my spring break in March...what a wonderful break from school that will be! :)

ETA:  Any recommendations of places to stay, things to do, or places that are a MUST SEE in Las Vegas please let me know! :)  All info is greatly appreciated!

I've hope you enjoyed my hubby's card as much as I did!

Recipe:
Stamps: n/a - He wanted to use a stamp but was afraid he'd wreck them because he didn't know how to clean them!  Isn't that cute?!  I'm giving him a class in stamp cleaning 101 so next time he can use stamps!
Inks: Sharpie Black Marker - I told him there is a whole desk of Copics in there and he can add some color...he won't hurt anything....lol!
Papers:  GP cardstock - he was too afraid to use dp because he thought the ones he liked looked to expensive to "wreck"....silly boy!
Tools:  paper cutter
Embellishments:  DCWV sticker

*******************************************************
Are you all ready for the holidays...tomorrow is already Christmas Eve!  WOW I can't believe how fast this year has gone by!  I have one more shopping place to stop today before my family Christmas tonight!  My immediate family celebrates our Christmas at my parents' house on the 23rd!  It's really laid back but so much fun!  My family Christmas last 3 days due to the size of my mom and dad's families!  Christmas Eve is church and my Dad's parents' then Christmas Day is my Mom's parents'!  I love it....my cousins are flying in from Texas this year....I haven't seen them in a couple years now...so I'm very excited!  My hubby doesn't understand as his family only consists of his Mom, Dad and sister....you would think after 7 1/2 years of being with me he would have adjusted by now!

Today I have a gift packaging project to share with you.  I have a friend who asked me to decorate a tin that she could put a necklace in for a gift.  I used an old prima container and added some paper, ribbons, and jewels to make it pretty!  The only requirements were it should be black and red and she wanted an "M" on it!  Here is the BEFORE pictures:

And here is the AFTER:

I used the same paper collection as my airplane Santa card from yesterday....they are from The Paper Studio.

Ribbons are from my stash.

I took the multi-colored rhinestones  off of the tin and added just red and clear ones to match my theme.

I love how the medallion turned out!  I used my Just Rite stamper with my curved letters for the initial.  I stamped some flourishes from my Autumn Leaves set in Distress Fired Brick ink.  Then I took one of my mini Prima stamps and stamped in black over top of the swirls.  I cut the medallion out with my scalloped circle nesties and finished it off with Christmas Red Stickles.  For behind the medallion I used my new Fancy Tags...oooo I so love these and can see them being on a lot of my projects now.  Then for the decoration behind the fancy tag I used my Fleur De Lis pendant set....I used one of the small dies in that set, cut it 7 times and layered those to look like a circle.

I hope you like how this turned out....my friend absolutely LOVED it....that always makes me so happy to see someone's eyes light up when they see what I've created!

Now onto the Game:

Here's my letter to Santa...of course I am asking for LOTS of crafty supplies...Copics, Stamps, MS Punches, Spellbinders, MME Paper, Ribbon, and or course there's always MORE!

Looks like Santa got my letter! :)

My Project:

I love the Believe in Magic set, and just had to use it for my project!  Now I know you are thinking this looks exactly like my easel card that I showed you the other day with this set....however, I tweaked the easel card a little bit with the help of Kirsten's box card!  And have come up with this:

I used my Scor-Pal to create the box and drawers.  I do love how this has turned out, especially my first time making a card box like this!

Here's the front of the easel card, where I have used DCWV Holiday Collection Christmas Stack.  The image was colored with Copics (seriously is there anything else to color with...hee hee!)

As you can see I used my Spellbinders Classic Scalloped frame again and wove it with some ribbon (I just love the look the ribbon added to the frame gives).  Again, I've used my ABS with Copic colors C1 and B93 to give the background a nightly sky look.  I added Christmas Red Stickles to Rudolph's nose so he can lead Santa's team.  My Gold Spica was used on the reindeer's collars and to add a decoration to Santa's sleigh.  Liquid applique once again adds dimension to Santa's suit.

Here you can see the Gold Spica swirls that I added to Santa's sleigh and the liquid applique.

Then there is the bottom of the easel card.  I got out my never used Spellbinders In Spades borderabilities, and added pearls to the center of the boarder.  I love how this border matches the elegance of the paper.  It's like the die was made to be used with this paper!

Used some flowers from my stash (the gold one is a Prima, red one is a velvet flower from Michaels) along with my Spellbinders Renaissance Hearts Pendant Die for the center of my combo, added some Gold Stickles to the red flower tips, and finished with another pearl.

Here you can see the drawers on the box.  There is a drawer on each side to fill with goodies for someone special.

Another view so you can see how the drawers do go all the way around the box.

Finally, a view to show you the shimmer of the image.  You can see the Stickles and Spica sparkles, but you can really see the Pixie Dust Blingz Shimmerz that I added to the moon.  The texture of the Shimmerz actually makes the Moon look like a real life moon.  You can't see it in the pictures but I have also gone over the words with my Clear Spica to add some glimmer and sparkles to make the words pop and appear magical themselves.

I hope you have enjoyed your stop along the hop here and Santa's Magic has inspired you!  Leave on comment on this post and you can win your very own Believe in Magic digi set!  Winner will be announced on the Stamps and Smiles Blog later on!

Now you need to head on to the next stop, which is Cindy's blog!
