Melissa's Balloon

Hi again!  I'm back with a second quick post today.  I realized that I hadn't yet shared my GD inspiration with this month $1 digi over in the Make it Crafty Facebook group.  Every month, there is a new digi from the Make it Crafty store that is only $1 if you are a member of the Facebook group and pick up the special code.   That alone is a great reason to join the group, but you also get lots of inspiration from the DT and fans, fun chats and heads-up on some special events and sales.  What are you waiting for?  Pop over and join up, if you haven't already.

This month's $1 is Melissa's Balloon.  She is such a cutie! I just love her expression!  The Make it Crafty store is temporarily closed while Zoe adds some new features and images so I can't link up Melissa's Balloon for you, but I will come back and update the links as soon as the store re-opens. There was also a little "challenge" issued in the FB group to color this digi using the no lines/light lines technique.  Of course, I had to give it a go. It would have downright rude of me not to!   I also gave my Melissa curly hair for the hard part of this month's Make it Colourful Challenge #10.   Phew!  That was a lot to take on at once, at least for me!

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Island Indigo and the patterned papers are from the October Afternoon Woodland Park 8x8 pad.  I printed Melissa's Balloon on MiC Blending Card with very light lines using the washout effect in Word, then colored her with my Copics.  As you can see, I definitely need a lot more practice with this technique!  A simple olive satin bow was all I added to finish my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, R20
Hair: E53, E35, E57
Dress and shoes: RV10, R81, R83, R85, BG000, BG02, BG05, BG07
Balloon: RV10, R81, R83, R85

Thanks for stopping by again!  I'll pop around in a bit to visit a little until I can't sit any longer.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Spring Garden Party

Hi there!  Happy Wednesday!  Can it possibly be that the week is halfway over already?  Time is certainly zipping by and without much for me to show for it!  At least I do have one project to share with you today.  I am delighted to say that the lovely Zoe invited me to stay on as GD for the month of May over on the Make it Crafty Facebook page!  Of course, I am thrilled to design along with the super-talented team for another month!  Here is my first inspiration project for this month.  It is for MiC FB Challenge #9, which is a photo inspiration challenge.  Those are always fun!

Here is the inspiration photo:

Here is where the photo inspiration took me:

I was inspired by the colors, the overhanging trees and the garden party theme.  My card base and mats are SU Coastal Cabana and the patterned papers are from the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss 6x6 pad.  The beautiful scene is one of the pre-made ones from Make it Crafty, called Afternoon Tea.  I printed it on MiC Blending Card and colored it with my Copics.  I added the ground, grass and cloudy sky with my Copics, too.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  A simple ribbon finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the scene:

Copics:
Greens: YG01, YG03, YG25, YG17, YG67
Tree: E31, E35, E57, E79

A Lot of Happy Birthday

Hi there!  Happy Sunday!  Hope you've had a nice weekend!  It was gorgeous here and I just got home a bit ago, so I'm just now getting a chance to share a card with you.  It is another inspiration post for my GD stint with the Make it Crafty Facebook group.   I have two "inspirations" for you.  One is for the MiC FB group monthly challenge, which for April is  to create a birthday card.  I am also showcasing the digi that is only $1 this month if you are a member of the Facebook group. Head on over there and join up if you haven't already and you will get a code that will get you the fun digi for just $1!  It doesn't get better than that and you get tons of MiC inspiration and fun chat to boot!

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Bermuda Bay and the patterned papers are from the My Mind's Eye Kate & Co. Cambridge Court 6x6 pad.  The cute image is Lizzie With Gift from Make it Crafty.  I printed her on MiC Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  Some polka dot ribbon and a few leopard print gems from my stash finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Thanks for stopping by!  If you love Make it Crafty like I do, you'll definitely want to head over to the Make it Crafty Facebook page and check out the fabulous inspiration from the amazing DT!  There's always a fun challenge every month and a $1 digi, too!  Don't miss out!

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
Seize the Birthday Challenge (birthday theme with optional topping of white on white)
Time Out Challenge #3 (birthday with option to make it masculine)

Enjoy the rest of the day and see you soon!

Style is Eternal

Good morning!  Happy Wednesday!  We're halfway to the weekend!  Because I was away, it seems like it should only be Tuesday, but Wednesday it is!  I'm popping this morning with another project I did for my GD spot over at the Make it Crafty FB group.  March Challenge #7 is to make a "card in a box".  I've seen these popping up everywhere lately, but I had never made one.  I roughly followed this tutorial, but adjusted the measurements a bit to make it work for me.

Here is my card in a box:

From the side:

 Front view close-up:

and finally, the Carefree Women alone:

The box and mats are SU Melon Mambo and the patterned papers are from the Webster's Pages Trendsetter collection.  I used Carefree Elise, Classy Victoria and Groovy Rachel from the Make it Crafty Carefree Women collection.  I printed them on Make it Colour Blending Card and colored them with my Copics.  They were cut out with my Cameo and mounted on the box.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  A few mod dimensional felt flowers finished my box.

Thanks for stopping by!  If you love all things Make it Crafty as much as I do, you should head over to the Make it Crafty FB Group and join up, if you haven't already.  There is always fantastic inspiration from the amazingly-talented Make it Crafty DT, as well as a fun monthly challenge.  You still have a couple of days to get in your card-in-a-box project for this month's challenge!

Have a great day and see you soon!

Happy Balloon Day!

Hi again!  I didn't think I would be back today, but I managed to finish a card I was hoping to share for a couple of challenges.  It is for the Make it Crafty Facebook Sketch Challenge #5 and the Make it Colourful Challenge #5.  As usual, there was an easy and hard challenge for the Make it Colourful challenge.  I chose the easy one this time, which was to use blue and yellow for coloring.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

I made a scalloped easel card using the sketch.  My card base and mats are SU Crushed Curry and the patterned paper is from the Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane 6x6 pad.  The fun image is Melissa's Balloon from Make it Crafty. I printed her on MiC Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  I fussy cut her and popped her up on foam tape.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  Some dotted Crushed Curry ribbon finished my card.

Happy Australia Day!

Hi there!  Happy Wednesday!  Did you think I got lost in my nice clean craft room?  I didn't. It's just been a really busy week and I haven't had time to do much crafting. I have a few DT posts coming up over the next few days, so I'll be around a lot more.  Anyway, I'm popping in really quickly to share a card I made for the Australia Day Contest on the Make it Crafty Facebook page.  I know.  I'm not Australian, but I do have the awesome Australia Outback Collection from Make it Crafty so how could I resist the challenge?  The only requirement was to create something that screams Australia!  I hope my card does!

Here it what I came up with:

There isn't much here except my scene.  The card base and mats are SU Ruby Red and the checked paper is from one of my My Mind's Eye 6x6 pads, but I can't remember which one.  I created the Australia scene with several elements from the Australia Outback Digi Collection.  I was super lucky to have won the whole collection when it debuted!  For my scene, I used Ayers Rock Outback, Eucalyptus Tree, Kangaroo and Joey, Kookabura, Echidna and Aussie Outback Sheila.  I merged the images and printed the merged image on MiC Blending Card.  I colored everything with my Copics.  The sentiment is computer-generated.  I didn't want to take away from the scene, so a few rustic gems finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Copic colors:
Sheila:
Skin: E50, E51, E21, E11, E13, R20
Hair: E35, YR23, YR27, R59
Clothes: BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78, R22, R35, R37, R46, R59, E31, E34, E57, E59
Ayers Rock: E11, E13, E15, E18
Ground: E41, E42, E43, E44
Ground Foliage: G21, G94, G99, YG97
Tree: E42, E43, E44, E47, G40, G43, G46, YG67
Kangaroo: E31, E33, E35, E37
Echidna: E41, E43, E47m E49
Kookabura: BG 72, BG75, E42, E44, E47

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back in the morning with my Little Miss Muffet DT post.

Have a great evening!

Christmas Eve Countdown

Hi again!  I'm back with a second quick post today to share a card for the current Make it Crafty challenges.  I made a card for Sketch Challenge #4 in the Facebook group and Challenge #4 over at Make it Colourful. The Make it Colourful Challenge has an easy and hard part, as usual.  The easy challenge is to color your image with mainly red and green.  The hard challenge is to add texture.  I combined the easy and hard challenges and also used the sketch.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are GKD Green Apple and the patterned papers are from the Authentique Festive 6x6 pad.  My fun image is Christmas Eve Countdown from Make it Crafty.  I printed it on MiC Blending Card and colored it with my Copics.  I tried to add texture to the trim on his suit, the snow and the sack.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  I added Glossy Accents to his goggles and watch face and a bit of Liquid Pearls around the image for snow flakes.  A red and green striped bow finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11
Red: R32, R35, R37, R59, E19
Green: YG01, YG03, YG63, YG67

Sack: E41, E42, E43, E44
White/Snow: C5, C3, C1, C0

Holidays With A Twist

Hi there!  It's me again!  I am back with the fastest post ever to share the card I made for the November Sketch Challenge over on the Make it Crafty Facebook page.  There's only a few days left and I've been procrastinating all month!   All you have to do is use the sketch and a MiC digi or rubber stamp.  I've got lots of both!

Here is the sketch:

Here is my take on it:

My card base and mats are SU Real Red and the sparkly patterned papers are from the DCWV Winter Holiday Stack.  The fun image is Candy Elf from Make it Crafty.  I printed the digi on MiC Blending Card and colored it with my Copics, of course.  I added just a bit of glitter to the trim on the cap and the bells on the hat and shoes.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  The papers were a little busy so I didn't add any more embellishments.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Copics:
Skin: E50, E51, E11, E23
Hair: YR23, E35, E57
Blues: B91, B95, B97
Greens: YG21, YG01, YG17, YG67
Reds: R22, R35, R37, R46, R59
White: C1, C3, C5

Thanks for stopping by again!  I've been trying to get around to visit, so if I haven't already, I will by the end of the day.

Have a great day and see you soon!

Life is a Beach

Good morning!  Happy Monday!  Hope your week is off to a great start!  It's raining and thundering here this morning, but that's a just a good excuse to stay in and catch up on a few things.  I am popping by with a quick post to share the card I made for Coloring Challenge #2 on the Make it Crafty Facebook page.  This time it is all about coloring backgrounds and like the last challenge, there are three levels to enter - Easy: a colored background; Medium: sky with clouds; Hard: sunset with clouds.  Being the glutton for punishment that I am, I went with the hard challenge.

Here is what I came up with:

I created a simple card base with SU Ruby Red and patterned paper from the Echo Park Paradise Beach 6x6 pad.  My beach image is a digi that is aptly called The Beach from Make it Crafty.  I printed it on Make it Colour Blending Card and colored the scene with my Copics.    I added a bit of Antique Linen and Tarnished Brass Distress Stickles to the sand on the beach and island for some extra texture.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  the only embellishments were a few Wild Orchid Crafts flowers.  I wanted my colored image to be the main focal point.

Here are the Copic colors I used:
Sky: R14, YR09, YR04, Y35, YR21, YR02, YR30, V00, V01, V06 V20, B60, B000, B91, B93, B95, BV20, BV25
Sea: BG000, BG10, BG11, BG72
Sand and island: E30, E31, E33, E35
Shells and starfish: E93, E95
Palm trees: E25, G20, G21, G24, G28, YG97, YG01

OK, that's it for me for now.  Thanks for stopping by!  I am slowly making my way through your blogs, so I hope to be by to visit soon.

Make it Crafty Coloring Challenge

Hi again!  I'm back this morning with a quick post to share a card I made for the Make it Crafty Coloring challenge on Facebook.  It ends in just a couple of days, so I didn't want to miss out.  The challenge was to color brown hair and there were three difficulty levels: easy (just brown hair), medium (brown hair with fine details) and difficult (brown hair with fine details and a top right light source).   Given that my coloring skills have decided to take a vacation, I should have stuck with the easy challenge, but I decided to go ahead and try the difficult one.

Here is my attempt:

My card base and mats are GKD Cranberry Tart and the patterned papers are from the Carta Bella Beautiful Moments 6x6 pad.  The gorgeous image is Zoe by Krista Smith for Make it Crafty.  Krista designed this image especially for Zoe to use in her "Coloring Long Hair in Fine Detail" EBook.  I printed out the image on Make it Colour Blending Card and colored her with my Copics, attempting to follow Zoe's fantastic tutorial in the EBook.  Let's just say I still need a lot of practice with long hair, that's for sure!  I kept my card simple otherwise, just adding a ribbon, bow and a few pearls for embellishments. There is a bit of Gold Liquid Pearls on her pendant.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Copic colors:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, R20
Hair: E35, E37, E47, E49, E51
Dress: R22, R29, R46, R59

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to be by to visit you a little later today.

I am also entering my card in the following challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday #210 (sketch)
No Matter Which Challenge #10 (BINGO - one from each column; I used ribbon from column 1, pearls from column 2 and bows from column 3)

Here is SSW-210:

Have a great day and see you soon!
