MondayMaker and a Sneak Preview

Hi there, it´s a strange time of the year - so cold in the morning and it´s getting hot in the sun, you never know what to wear when you go out of the house early in the morning and you know you will return late. I think, probably that´s why I came up with the idea to make hot-water-bottle-covers with my scraps. These are the first two. I have to wait for backside-fabric, but then I will go on with them. Maybe ten in each color and also mixed once. I will see how long it makes fun to sew them ;-).

I didn´t follow a pattern, I just drew it around my hotbottle and made a simple open closure on the backside, but I know there are lots in the WWW that inspired me.

Hi ihr da, es ist doch echt eine merkwürdige Zeit im Jahr - Morgens so kalt und am Tag in der Sonne so heiß, dass man wenn man das Haus ganz früh morgens verlässt und erst Abends zurück kommt, gar nicht weiß, was man anziehen soll. Daher kam mir wahrscheinlich auch die Idee, aus den Resten Wärmflaschenhüllen zu nähen. Die ersten zwei sind schon mal fertig, mir fehlt aber Stoff für die Rückseiten und dann will ich insgesamt 10 oder so machen - in jeder Farbrichtung eines und ein paar gemischte. Mal sehen, wie lange ich dazu Lust habe ;-).

Ich habe für mich keine Anleitung genutzt, ich habe einfach meine Wärmflasche abgemalt und hinten einen einfachen Hotelverschluss genäht. Aber es gibt auf jeden Fall viele Anleitungen im WWW, die mich inspiriert haben.

Then in all those scap-sewing I almost forgot to finish two September Bee Blocks. Glad it came to my mind in the last second. It was really fun to sew them.

Und dann im ganzen Reste-Nähen hatte ich dann auch noch fast vergessen, zwei Bee-Blöcke für September zu nähen. Bin froh, dass es mir in letzter Sekunde noch eingefallen ist. Die haben Spaß gemacht!

Haha, und hier eine kleine Vorschau auf nächste Woche. Da bin ich nämlich dran beim Blog Hop für Purse Palooza, einem Taschen-Blog-Hop, wo jeden Werktag im Oktober zwei Taschen vorgestellt werden. Sara von SewSweetness organisiert das ganze und auf ihrem Blog könnt ihr auch den Zeitplan sehen, bin schon ein wenig stolz, dass sie mich gefragt hat, ob ich mitmache. Ich bin also nächsten Montag mit der Poolside Tote von NoodleHead dran.

So and this is what I have to finish today and tomorrow - more sleepingbag pouches :).

MondayMakers meet Scraps

When I came home on Saturday after a very busy day at 9 o´clock in the evening - cleaning up the flat, being taxi for my girl who played 2! games on one day (12 and 18 o´clock) and of course watching them and doing this and that in other parts of my City while we had the Berlin Marathon which means lots of streets closed, I remembered Leannes - "she can quilt"- post about scraps and so - Leanne and Nicky are organising the Scrapatastic Tuesday on Instagram (same hashtag). I needed something to bring me down from this day and I started to sew small logcabins from my scraps inspired by CauchyComplete. My cleaned table was a creative mess in seconds and I loved it!!!

Als ich am Samstag Abend um 9 nach einem sehr vollen Tag nach Hause kam - Wohnung aufräumen, Taxi für meine Tochter spielen, die gleich zwei Spiele um 12 und um 18 Uhr hatte inkl. Zuschauen natürlich, ein paar Dinge hier und dort erledigen in den unterschiedlichsten Bezirken von Berlin inkl. Absperrungen zum Berlin Marathon, habe ich mich an Leannes - she can quilt Post erinnert über scaprs und so. Leanne und Nicky organisieren den Scraptastic Tuesday auf Instagram (gleicher Hashtag). Ich brauchte an diesem Abend dringend etwas, um mich runter zu bringen also habe ich angefangen inspiriert von CauchyComplete kleine Logcabins aus meinen Resten zu nähen. Mein aufgeräumter Tisch hat sich binnen Sekunden in ein kreatives Chaos verwandelt und ich liebe es!

After finishing one I couldn´t stop and made four.... as you can imagine it was really late that night....

Nachdem ich einen genäht hatte, konnte ich nicht aufhören und machte wenigstens vier... wie ihr Euch vorstellen könnt, war es echt spät...

Played a bit with layouts for the logcabins - one is about 5.5 inch, so some spripes are 0,25 inch.

Hab ein wenig mit Layouts für die süßen Blöcke rumgespielt - einer ist ungefähr 14 cm groß, so dass einige Streifen auch nur 0,6 cm breit sind.

Waking up the next morning I was more realistic again and I knew, I Need not another bit Project, so what to do with those logcabins. And then I had the idea making hot-bottle bag covers :). I could sell them on my Christmas market and so I had a look on our cover we have at home and here you go...

Aufgewacht am nächsten Morgen war mir klar, dass ich kein neues großes Projekt brauche, nun was tun mit den süßen Blöcken. Dann hatte ich die Idee mit den Wärmflaschenhüllen, die kann ich bestimmt gut auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt im Dezember verkaufen :).

Schnell unsere Hülle zu Hause angeschaut und hier ist sie nun...
