What’s the story with Nadine Velazquez ? Why was she absent from the show this season? Shouldn’t Emma Rios be a regular, like she was in Season Two? Hell, why don’t they just give her a spin-off? I’d watch that. Anyone agree?
Major Crimes 3.18
So happy to have Billy Burke and Nadine Velazquez back! And what a script! Intricate and tense. A real thrill-ride. Burke’s scenes are stomach churning. He is so good. And Phillip Stroh has - over the years - become a truly epic villain. Terrific work from Graham Patrick Martin in the scene with Rusty and Stroh. That was years coming. And it felt like it. Magnificent. And the final scene… Excellent. 10/10
Major Crimes 2.16
Michael Nouri, Michael Hyatt. Case-of-the-week with genuinely surprising resolution, and an interesting point to make. I hope we see Nouri’s unsympathetic character again. 8/10
Major Crimes 2.2
Solid crime story, with many great moments of character comedy. I love seeing Provenza take the lead, as he seems to do more and more. Episodes start with him arriving at the crime scene, for instance. Meanwhile, Rios is a terrific new character. Show is really firing on all cylinders at the moment. 10/10
