The Last Ship 1.2

John Pyper-Ferguson .

  • 00-06 Lots of people being sad. Kind of a drippy way to start the episode.

  • 06-14 Things pick up with some solid character conflict. Followed by tension as our heroes head out on a mission.

  • 14-18 Show is having fun with this whole traitor-in-their-midst storyline.

  • 18-25 Lot of very enjoyable military action.

  • 25-32 These are damn good action sequences and there are some nice character moments in the mix.

  • 32-42 There’s really nothing startling on display, but the show really works. The characters are starting to click. And that’s a solid cliffhanger.

10/10

Motive 1.8

John Pyper-Ferguson. A very sad story is cleverly told, with each act bringing new revelations. The backstory takes more and more shape in the mind of the audience, as the tale unfolds, with growing understanding and empathy at each turn. Such a clever show. This formula packs quite a punch. 9/10
