--On Friday, near Dumfries, two of our Texas scouts, old Indian fighters of the 4th Texas regiment, saw three Yankees, and pursued them until they came unexpectedly upon about 20; but getting behind a fish house the two killed three Yankees and wounded five, and the rest run and escaped in a boat. This is the true method of fighting our invaders — always kill them whenever you see them.--One Targan has killed it and bunts them as he would foxes, or Indians.--Fredericksburg Note, 2d inst.
