Highlight: Chanel Bottle Bag

Karl Largifeld has done it again. Chanel is constantly thinking of new ideas and ways to re-create iconic Chanel pieces. This purse is the perfect example of that.

It seems that the new Chanel perfume bottle bag is all the rage recently. I can't see why not! If I had a wad of cash laying around I would buy one of these in a heart beat. Let me just remind you that these bags retail from $9,000 to $18,000! So by wad of cash I mean a small fortune.

Celebrities and fashionistas alike have been sporting these bags in street fashion all over the place. Earlier in January Rihanna was spotted carrying the bag at a basketball game. Although, I think it is a little more dressy then that these bags are everywhere and I am obsessed.

Recently, Chanel has been on point with me. I mean normally they always are but their past few collections I have been obsessed with. From the clothes to the styling Chanel has been my obsession lately. If only I could afford to carry a quilted bag and wear a tweed blazer on a daily basis.

Chanel Couture Inspired Makeup Look

Chanel Couture Inspired Makeup

What you need:
  • A glitter eyeliner, shadow stick, or eye shadow of some sort
  • A light pink blush and lip color
  • Liquid or gel eyeliner
  • Mascara of your choice

Steps:
This makeup look is relatively simple to re-create. There are a few ways you can go about it but there are a few basic steps.
  1. First off, apply a very simple face makeup. Keep it to concealer, foundation, powder, and a very light and natural blush. For Chanel's makeup look the face seems pretty bare and natural. So skip a bright cheek, highlighter, or any bronzers.
  2. Next step is the cat eye. To create a cat eye choose between either liquid or gel eyeliner. From experience those work the best. Simple line your upper lash line first then make a relatively small wing. If you wanted to switch up the look you could make the wing more dramatic.
  3. Then, you need to add the glitter! There are a few ways you can accomplish this glitter look. First is to use a product like Urban Decay's heavy metal. Essentially it is a glitter liquid liner. So, it will go on pretty easy and smoothly. Or, you could use a glitter eye shadow and use a thin brush to swipe it across your lower lash line. Like I said, there are many ways that you can achieve this look with products you may already have.
  4. Finish off your eye look with a coat of your favorite mascara.
  5. For a final touch use a nude pink lip color. Remember to keep it super natural!

Highlight: Chanel Spring Couture 2014

The Chanel couture show was absolutely amazing this Spring season. I can't find one piece or look that I am not in love with. The overall vibe and essence of the collection is so light and airy. It is girly but yet strong. The colors, textures, and fabrics were one of my favorite components of the collection. They used a lot of metallic and iridescent fabrics which created a really cool effect.

Not to mention the Chanel sneakers that everyone seems to be raving about. I really liked how they paired the sneakers with such beautiful pieces like a ball gown. Some how it all came together and looked great.

There are traditional Chanel aspects in this collection but also a lot of fresh and new ideas. Overall, this collection was perfection and if I could wear all of these pieces I totally would!

Here are some of my favorite looks from the runway show........

New Years Eve Beauty Essentials

New Years Eve Beauty Essentials

NYE is a great night of the year to mix up your everyday makeup look. My best advice is to be BOLD. Try something that is out of your comfort zone. If you usually wear nude lips try a bold red. {Note to self a bold red lip is always okay on a holiday!}.

From my experience I love experimenting with lip products. I find it is the easiest way to switch up your look. Especially if you normally have your lips bare this will make a huge statement and it will add some color to your look. Also, a new trend I am seeing is a purple lip. So if you are feeling extra bold go for it!

Another fun thing to add to a NYE look is glitter or metallic nail polish. New Years eve is full of glamour so might as well deck out your nails too.

For me I love a cat eye look using liner. I find it the easiest to achieve with either a liquid liner or a gel.

Then lastly, glowy skin is also a good look. Pick yourself up some rosy blush to bright up your face. To add extra glow you can use a liquid or powder highlight.

Have a happy NYE!
