Bitten By the Bug 2- Collaboration Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 and we collaborated with Double Trouble.  It is all about layers for this challenge.

For Cuddle Up Day, let's think cozy and warm...  Layer Up!  You MUST use at least one die, punch, or machine cut and include at least two or more layers on your project. Bring on your card layering techniques and Layer Up.

I created this free file form Dreaming Tree, for an upcoming class and thought this was a great "layered up" project.

The layers are are in the flower on the front of the card holder.  It is a total of 7 different layers.  It is such a fun design too.

Here is a close up of the layers.

Thank you for stopping by.   Please leave me a comment.  Then create a project with layers and share it with us here at Bitten By the Bug 2.

Bitten By The Bug 2: Christmas Ornament

 Hello Crafty Friends,

Today we have a new challenge at Bitten By The Bug 2, just in time for trimming the tree.  Let's see your handmade ornaments using your Cricut.

I used one of my go to companies for all things 3-D, Dreaming Tree, and created this timeless ornament.

I created this using Green cardstock, silver cardstock, pattern paper and vellum I had in my stash.  There is a door on the backside that you can open up and place a battery-operated tealight inside.

I can't wait to add this ornament to my tree.

Now it is your turn.  Create an ornament of any kind with your Cricut and share it with us at Bitten By the Bug 2.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Bitten By the Bug 2: Witches and Ghouls

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2 and it is all about Halloween.  Witches and Ghouls are the scary part of Halloween and can be popular among people.  If you know anything about me, I do not do scary for Halloween, so this was a stretch.

I decided on making this Candy Treat box from Dreaming Tree and gifted it to a friend.

It is larger than I expected but, pretty easy to put together.

Here is a close up of the front of the box.

Here is a close up the back picture with the ghouls.

I used cardstock I had on hand to create the box.  It is hard to tell from the pictures, but the ghosts are cut from white glitter cardstock.

Now it is your turn.  Create a Halloween project with your Cricut including witches and ghouls and share it with us at Bitten By the Bug 2.

FYI, she loved it!

Bitten By the Bug 2- For the Guys Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge at Bitten By the Bug.  Masculine or For the Guys!  This is always a card makers challenge when we have to create masculine cards.

I looked no further than Dreaming Tree to find this beer card.

I cut out the beer card using cardstock from my stash and my Cricut.  I ran the "foam" through the small dot embossing folder and added some light brown ink around the edges.

Now it is your turn to create a "masculine" Cricut project and share it with us at Bitten By the Bug 2 Challenge Blog.

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop.  This month and the theme is Masculine makes. If you are following along the hop, you should have arrived from Steph Jandrow'sblog.  Make sure to read through my blog, comment below and then continue to Maureen Rauchfuss' blog.

If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of Blog Hoppers at the end of each blog.

Here are the projects I created for our Masculine theme.

I created this fun box card for a very special 5 year old that loves all things Star Wars.

The box card part was cut with my Cricut from Dreaming Tree.

I then stamped the images from Kindred Stamps and colored them with my Copics.

The unique card needed an awesome envelope to put it in, so the project is the matching envelope from the same file.

Together they look very cute together.

Bitten by The Bug 2- May Flowers

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today we start a new challenge with a "May Flowers" theme over at Bitten by the Bug 2.  I love Gerber daisies, so when I saw this cut file from Dreaming Tree, I knew I had to make it for this challenge.

I cut the file with some cardstock from my stash and wrapped the elements around the tea light.

To finish it off, I added the leaves strip to the bottom.  It was really quite simple and is a free svg file from Dreaming Tree.  I could see these at a tea party or wedding as centerpieces as well.

So, now it is time for you to create something with flowers using your Cricut and sharing it with us at Bitten by the Bug 2.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Bitten By the Bug- Get Well Wishes

Hello Crafty Friends,

New Year at Bitten by the Bug 2 and we are kicking off the year with a Get Well Wishes theme.  When I think of getting well, I think of Chicken Noodle Soup.  So, I created a care package.

I created the Bow Basket from Dreaming Tree.  Since I wanted to make it with a can of chicken noodle soup, I used chicken wire pattern paper from Fun Stampers Journey to create the sides of the basket.  I followed the cut file at the set size and was very surprised that a large can of soup fit inside.

I also added a few small packs of Kleenex.

The bow is from the same pack of pattern paper, The Good Life, from Fun Stampers Journey.  Everything is held together with a brad, right in the middle.

To finish the basket I added a "Praying for You" tag to the basket.  If I was sick and someone brought this over to me, I would love it.

Now it is your turn.  Create something to give to someone who is sick and share it with us at Bitten By the Bug 2.  Remember to use your cricut.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Bitten by The Bug: Thanksgiving

Hello Crafty Friends,

It is time for a new challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2.  This two week challenge is Thanksgiving.  I couldn't help but make this fun turkey from Dreaming Tree.

I used pattern paper from Authentique to create this turkey.

Here is a close up of his face.

Here is a close up of his feathers.  I added some liquid pearls to the feathers.

Last, but not least, he is a treat box.

He was a ton of fun to make and really not that hard.   He will be the star of the table on Thanksgiving Day!
Please create something with your Cricut for Thanksgiving and share it with us on the blog.

Also, thank you for stopping by and please leave me a comment.

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2; Life in 3-D.  When I saw this challenge, I knew exactly what I wanted to make.

I present to you Dreaming Tree's Walt's RV.  If you have ever seen the series "Breaking Bad",  you know the RV plays an important part in the show.  My brother loved the show, so I knew I would be giving him the finished project.

I made mistakes, but my brother loved it.

Here is pictures of the other 3 sides.

The front

The other side

The back side

There is a secret compartment.

Then the RV is a box also.

This was a challenge, but a ton of fun.

Now it is your turn.  Create something 3-D and share it with us on Bitten By the Bug 2.

Thank you card from Dreaming Tree

Hello Crafty Friends,

I love Dreaming Tree.  It is a great website for many great Cricut projects.  Today is a simple card.

All cardstock is from American Craft.  They have some great textured Cardstock that is perfect for something like this.

I cut the file at the A2 card style.  I then took the cup and embossed using the Fiddle Leaf Embossing Folder from Fun Stampers Journey to add texture.
I then stamped the "Thank You", on the banner piece using Black Licorice ink and the stamp from Spellbinders.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Two Challenges in One!

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I want to share a card I created for a challenge at Love to Craft Challenge Blog and Simply Create Too Challenge Blog.
Love to Craft is always an anything goes challenge.  Simply Create Too is use flowers this month.  This card fit both of these challenges.

The file was cut with the file from Dreaming Tree and I thought it was most appropriate for this month since we are starting the month of May and what do we celebrate in May?  Birthday's and Mother's Day!

I used basic cardstock for the card base.  I then used pattern paper from My Mind's Eye Hello Gorgeous line and Echo Park's Spring Market line to create the dress.
The sentiment is from the Spellbinders Special Birthday Sentiments.

I hope you will come and join one or both of the challenges this month.

Thanking for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Bitten By the Bug 2: Flowers Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome to a new challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2.  This weeks challenge is to show us your flowers.  With Spring here, even though the weather this weekend in Southern California was more like summer, flowers are blooming.  I love to see flowers because to me it reminds me of the beauty we have all around us.

So, today I want to share with you the Floral Arrangement from Dreaming Tree.

This was a fun project, but I will be honest, the flowers were the toughest part to put together.

After I had the flowers done, I was very happy with the end results.

I then bought some fake baby's breath to fill in the holes.

I then used the Dark Botanical paper pack, wood grain paper to create the "vase" part.

I loved making this project and will probably take it to my grandma after this whole pandemic is over.

Create a flower project with your Cricut and join the challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2.
