Blood Bowl Zombies

It may be Tanktober at The Man Cave, but it is Zomtober here!
Blood Bowl Zombies

I already have five zombies for Blood Bowl, and I needed a few more Rotters for my Nurgle team. I had a few zombies already made and undercoated, but without any of the converted helmets or shoulderpads. I was in a hurry, so just painted them straight up, leaving the bizarre shoulder joints as is. Good quick fun and hard to do badly. I use Vallejo sepia, fleshtone, and red washes for the effects.

15mm rogue androids

The Ghosts of Hefei scraped through its crowdfunding goal a couple of years ago, and the miniatures associated with it just came out.

I believe these were sculpted by PF (check out his blog). They are mounted on 20mm washers. They are well proportioned, finely detailed figures. The heavy weapon droid is wearing an oni mask and is a head taller than his (its?) colleagues.

I don't know if these will be more widely available in the future, but are very compelling generic figures.

There are some hackers and enforcer figures as well, I will put them up here when I get them done! In the meantime, check out my Department figures.

Fully operational

This Blog will be resuming its normal output.

I don't often have Real World updates on here, but I'm relieved to report that I've completed my studies with my sanity intact. I had decreased my blog output to once or twice a month, but aim to be back up to weekly pretty soon.

Tally ho!

Imperial Assault- IG-88

The assassin droid IG-88 is one of the weirder creations from Star Wars, knocked up from a few leftover bits and pieces. Easy to paint, though, and quite tall.

Blood Bowl Chaos Minotaur

There have been a few too many Star Wars posts recently, so here's part of the Chaos Blood Bowl team I'm very slowly completing (Star Player Leader, Star Player Thrower).
Blood Bowl Chaos Minotaur from Willy Miniatures
"What yoo lookin' at?"

This is a Willy Miniatures Minotaur. I greenstuffed the gem on the belt. There are casting deficiencies under the number plate and on the bottom of the the left pauldron, but I'll chalk that up to battle damage.

Note the casting deficiencies

Overall, a very imposing sculpt. At this rate, still a while to go before the rest of the team gets done!

In other news, don't leave your Blogger open when immature people are around... 'nuff said!

Battlelore Giant and Dragon

In Battlelore, any army can employ neutral monsters as mercenaries. These include the Mountain Giant and Great Dragon. I've decided to paint all my neutrals in a brown palette, and am pretty happy with how they turned out.

Imperial Assault- Han and Chewie

"Paint me Solo and the Wookie!"
Lots of fun painting these two.

Han Solo
"Scoundrel?"

"I know."

I painted the Corellian Bloodstripes by first painting a red strip up the trousers, then a few dark blue lines across it.

Chewbacca

I painted Chewie in a dark red-brown, then drybrushed the fur up to a yellow sandy colour. Then I used a thin black wash around the upper back, arms, face, and thighs, which really brings out the Chewbaccaness of this Wookie. Remember, let the Wookie win!

It's a great sculpt, much larger than the humans, but I'd love to see a furious melee pose.

Here's a great Chewie video, do yourself a favour and watch it.
