Here's Negan Laura and Dwight Zomtober Week 3

Been a busy week. Had hoped to make more progress with my Walking Dead Pile. I still got the next two Saviours finished Laura and probably my favourite out of them all Dwight. Laura I have tried something a bit different with her skin tone. Aiming for a much paler complexion to my normal skin tones I am quite pleased with how she turned out. I am not sure how often I will do it as it seem very pale whilst building up the layers.

Dwight I had finished first out of these pair but then realised as I got to the story arc in the comics that he had Tattoos on his arms! So I quickly re did his arms adding some sort of tribal marking son them. I was tempted to go with a black waist coat but figured it would make him look to much like Daryll. I imagine when they release a set of Saviours in the future that we will get the scarred version of Dwight that we know from the comics and tv series.

I haven't gotten around to cleaning all the walkers up from Here's Negan so they will bea future project. I have decided to try and get a couple of my boosters done. Picking out the Morgan, Tyresse and Abraham sets to get finished. Abraham's booster will be an easy one as there is only him and a guy called Judd in it. I also had some spare putty left over so based Brian Blake and the 5 Walkers from the Prelude to Woodbury starter.

Here's Negan Zomtober Week 2 and Here is actual Negan with Tara.

Another week has passed by and I have been steadily chipping away at the next two managing to finish them Friday morning.

So first up the NPC of the Board game is Negan. I love this sculpt with the shoulder sling rifle and him holding Lucille aloft.

Next up is Tara I really like the pose they did her in though cleaning off a mold line between the lifted up arm and her face was a bit of pain with this one.

The four finished so far. Laura and Dwight are wip as I have done the odd bit of base coating with shared colours from these done so far. I also got some of the boosters ready as I might try to get another set done for the final week. They just need basing and undercoating.

Here's Negan John and Sherry Zomtober week 1

So my plan for Zomtober this year is to work my through the characters part of the Here's Negan board game. I already had enough painted Walkers to play so all I need to get done is the main player characters and Negan. I may continue with the walkers next month depending on how I feel.

Managed to get an hour in most nights this week allowing me to finish John and Sherry as well as doing the odd bits here and there on the other four.

Zomtober 2019

 Crikey the end of the month seems to of crept up very quickly! Anyway next month is October and it wouldn't be the same without the annual Zomtober month.

The Rules:
To take part you just need to paint one Zombie or Survivor (or more!) each week, in any scale you like, posting it to your blog by that week's Sunday (we use Sunday's as the end of each Zomtober week). So that means posting one or more newly painted Zombie or Survivor minis each week on or before the 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th this year.

Myself I plan to catch up on some Walking Dead figures. I am going to aim first of all to get the 5 player characters and the NPC figure from the Mantic Here's Negan Board game. Anything extra wll be a bonus

Zomtober Week 4

Final Zomtober weekend of 2018. Its been a great month of entries with some really cool minis being painted up and finished off to shamble or try and survive. Today also happens to be my birthday so I've had to scrabble around a bit this week to get my entry finished as I knew this weekend would be a busy one and hobby time limited.

Anyway for this weeks entry I've managed to get the final 3 St Searle's girls finished. I have some teachers to sort out of the lead pile and paint up. But what I have so far gives plenty of choice for a 30 or 40 rating cast.

 Misty, Bins and an unnamed Sixth Former who is a slightly converted Hasslfree figure.

Cor this week has been busy and I've really had to knuckle down and make myself spend time getting these done. Its been worth it even just getting one or two steps done at at time has allowed me to get the painting finished yesterday and then varnished/tufts etc added this morning.

Zomtober Week 2

The St Searles theme continues for this years Zomtober and another 3 of the girls are finished off this week. Again these are the smaller Fourth Formers completing all I that I have currently.

Two of them also can be used as co stars. The one screaming her head off is known as Violent Elizabeth and the one gesturing amusingly with a catapult and hat is called Twinkle. There are lots of Stars and Co Stars for this cast going through the stat cards. There are generic Six and Fourth Former extras which these named characters can also be used as. So I can try out differnent combos of Stars and Co Stars and those I can't afford ratings wise for Stars  (2/3rds of your total ratings can be spent on Star 1/3rd must be extras) can be used as standard students.

There are teachers, cooks and other staff members I need to look at I possibly have some spare figures to use for these.

I went back after a facebook discussion with my brother from another mother Johnny Fransden and I went back and the odd tuft here and there and it does break up the grey some what. So a big thank you Johnny for the suggestion!



Next up are the 6 Sixth Formers I have to paint up all Crooked Dice Except one of which is a Hasslefree conversion which I had a duplicate of in the lead pile.

Zomtober Week 1

Been a busier week at work this week and not progress with my St Searles girls as much as I'd hoped. A bout of coughs colds and flu has dwindled the hobby time down bit by bit. I've managed to make good head way on the first six 'Fourth Formers' But only managed to get 3 out of the 6 fully finished.

These three are all from Hasslefree Miniatures. Alyx, Katie and Molotov Rose (This version of Rose was sold by Mantic years ago but is now back and sold by Hasslefree miniatures)

Having watched the remake of St Trinians I decided to paint up Alyx as an emo adding a splash of purple to her hair and then using a blue wash on her lips.

The two small ones Molotov Rose and I painted 5 years ago issue but felt the paintjob's where a bit dated. To be honest I don't think they have ever been in used in a game either from memory so I decided to strip them and paint them up in the same batch with the all the other St Searles girls.

Zomtober 2018!

As the end of September is almost here. It is very much the time of year to announce Zomtober 2018! 

To take part you just need to paint one Zombie or Survivor (or more!) each week, in any scale you like, posting it to your blog by that week's Sunday (we use Sunday's as the end of each Zomtober week). So that means posting one or more newly painted Zombie or Survivor minis each week on or before the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th this year.

I have some minis prepped to get done next month. My main plan is to get my St. Searles cast painted up and ready for half term at the end of the month. I hope to get a 7TV game in against a paranormal cast with my two girls and I shall try and write up a report about it!

Zomtober Week 5. The end!

Only managed to get 3 survivors finished from the Walking Dead All Out War game this week. Have been busy painting......the kitchen LOL. So yeah not had much time this week as the other half is hosting a Jewellry party for a friend which originally was meant to be the week after but has been brought forward a week..

I did get the next 8 cleaned, based and primed. In the end I decided the textured GW paint was to expensive and use my normal Milliput method of basing. I have ran out of varnish so when I get some will be adding a bit of flock and some tufts to add a bit of greenery.

I decided to go for a brown bases being as most of the Walking Dead is set in rural areas and will fit in on my own post apoc board. I have some barricades done already and a few cars. I plan to pick up some tents from Renedra and have got some trees I need to base up as I prefer 3D terrain over the card stuff provided in the game. Mats i'm still not sure on yet. I need to put my thinking cap on about them. I'd love my own boards but then its always vs Time to so!

Abraham currently the only version and was a Kickstarter exclusive but is currently available for Mantic Points.

These guys again but based, I have dirtied them up a bit and much happier with them now.

Whats next well more Walking Dead All out War figures. There are a lot more Survivors in the next row I am doing. We have Rick and Carl. Derek, Patrick and Sandra some Survivors from Woodbury or raiders I think that Rick and Co cross in the comics.  A guy called Leon who I am trailing back through the comics to find and 2 more zombies. So another 8 in total. I am hoping to have as many as I can finished by Christmas.
