A Counter Terrorist Specialist Firearms Officer (CTSFO) is an elite United Kingdom police firearms officer. The CTSFO standard is the highest Authorised Firearms Officer level in the National Police Firearms Training Curriculum (NPFTC) and was established by the Metropolitan Police Service in the lead up to the 2012 Summer Olympics held in London in July 2012. The Firearms units of police forces organise CTSFOs into teams to establish a police tactical unit. A national capability to respond to terrorist incidents such as marauding terrorist firearms attacks through collaboration of police forces who maintain CTSFO teams was established known as the CTSFO Network.

Modeling Toys 1/6th scale Military Series - S.D.U. Special Duties Unit 12-inch figure Preview Pics

The SDU was established in 1974 by the British Hong Kong Government in response to the ever-increasing threat of international terrorism. The SDU, consisting of ten odd members, used existing police weaponry and devised their own tactics. In early 1978, the British Special Air Service sent an advisory team to Hong Kong, which was initially to evaluate the SDU and subsequently trained two land assault teams resulting in considerable changes to SDU equipment and tactics. In 1982, the British Special Boat Service sent an advisory team to Hong Kong to establish a water assault team including training in military diving. The water assault team was later disbanded in 2000, with the assaults teams now integrated as new training standards required all officers to be equally trained and proficient in maritime operations.

After the handover of Hong Kong’s sovereignty from Britain to China in 1997, the SDU not only continues its training exchanges with many European, North American, and Asian police tactical units and military special forces units, but has also begun to form closer ties with Mainland China.

Lethal Weapon 2 is a 1989 American buddy cop action comedy film directed by Richard Donner, and starring Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, Joe Pesci, Patsy Kensit, Derrick O'Connor and Joss Ackland. It is a sequel to the 1987 film Lethal Weapon and the second installment in the Lethal Weapon series.

Gibson and Glover respectively reprise their roles as LAPD officers Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh, who protect an irritating federal witness (Pesci), while taking on a gang of South African drug dealers hiding behind diplomatic immunity.

Soldier Story 1/6th scale NYPD ESU “TACTICAL ENTRY TEAM” 12-inch action figure Preview

Let's not forget all the police officers out there performing their duties and keeping the world safe while we celebrate and party this New Year's Eve :)

The New York City Police Department Emergency Service Unit is a component of the NYPD Citywide Operations Bureau's Special Operations Division. The unit is uniquely trained and equipped to perform tactical (Special Weapons and Tactics, SWAT) and technical rescue duty for other department elements. Members of ESU are cross-trained in multiple disciplines for police and rescue work.

The personnel selected for ESU become highly trained, elite members of the NYPD who perform rescue, SWAT and other high risk tactical, counter-narcotic and counter-terror operations. There are minimum time-in-grade requirements before an NYPD officer can apply to transfer to ESU. Police Officers must have a minimum of 5 years on the job with a minimum annual rating of 3.5. Supervisors in the rank of sergeants and lieutenants must have 2 years in rank before being assigned to ESU. In addition, all ESU candidates must be approved by a group of current ESU members to ensure that they will integrate into the unit successfully.

In the year 2200, corruption in the world has reached its peak, even police officers are involved in terrorist attacks. In Japan, Neorai Industries has successfully launched its Neo Keisatsu joint project with the government, and replaced all existing human officers with A.I powered mechas.

Mass riots appeared throughout Japan by ex-officers and worried citizens, but the riots were contained efficiently and almost immediately with the merciless Neo Keisatsus. They soon proved that mechas are indeed better in handling tasks and duties than human beings, as crime rate lowers and corruption seems to fade out from Japan, they re-announced "Japan" to "Neo Japan" in the year 2202. Many still doubt the Neo Keisatsu project till this day, as machines are still machines, it can still be controlled and if fallen into the wrong hands, the outcome would be unimaginable.

From Devil Toys comes this Neo Japan 2202 1/6th scale Neo Keisatsu 12-inch Robot Figure and it looks really nice! Devil Toys had released their War of Order Vol. 1 - The Secret Master 1/6th scale collectible figure earlier - see the action figure review posted on my toy blog HERE and HERE. Very rarely you see something interesting and different and unique. Devil Toys seem to be getting it right and I like what I see here so just take my money already!

DID MA1009 1/6th scale LAPD Patrol Officer "Austin" aka Robert Patrick as T-1000 12" figure

Terminator 2: Judgment Day – In this sequel set eleven years after "The Terminator," young John Connor (Edward Furlong), the key to civilization's victory over a future robot uprising, is the target of the shape-shifting T-1000 (Robert Patrick), a Terminator sent from the future to kill him. Another Terminator, the revamped T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger), has been sent back to protect the boy. As John and his mother (Linda Hamilton) go on the run with the T-800, the boy forms an unexpected bond with the robot.

Robert Patrick stars as the T-1000: An advanced shape shifting prototypical Terminator composed of liquid metal sent back in time to assassinate John. Cameron stated that he "wanted to find someone who would be a good contrast to Arnold. If the 800 series [the model played by Schwarzenegger] is a kind of human Panzer tank, then the 1000 series had to be a Porsche." The T-1000 arrives under a freeway, kills a policeman and assumes his identity.

This is DID's latest offering of a 1/6th scale LAPD Patrol Officer named "Austin". He might as well be Robert Patrick as the T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day. This is great for those who missed out on the Hot Toys MMS129 (Movie Masterpiece Series) Collector's Edition T-1000 1/6th scale collectible figure released in October 2010. DID 1/6th scale '90s LAPD SWAT “Kenny” 12" Action Figure Review - Keanu Reeves in Speed

Speed is a 1994 American action thriller film directed by Jan de Bont in his feature film directorial debut. The film stars Keanu Reeves, Dennis Hopper, Sandra Bullock, Joe Morton, Alan Ruck, and Jeff Daniels. It became a surprise critical and commercial success (the film grossed a worldwide total of $350.5 million, well above its $30 million production budget), winning two Academy Awards, for Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing, at the 67th Academy Awards in early 1995. The film tells the story of an LAPD cop who tries to rescue civilians on a city bus rigged with a bomb programmed to explode if the bus slows down.

It has taken 23 years for this 1/6th scale Keanu Reeves as Los Angeles police officer Jack Traven 12-inch figure to be realised! No other company has attempted to produce a 12-inch Keanu wearing his civvies with his assault vest equipped with his EOD tools. There were a few 1/6th scale LAPD SWAT figures bearing some likeness to Keanu Reeves released but none of him in civvies until now. Keanu Reeves is much older now and a 12-inch John Wick figure would be most appropriate to show him then and now. Let's get back to this DID MA1003 1/6th scale '90s LAPD SWAT “Kenny” 12-inch action figure which is pretty well made.

First haul in June: DID 1/6th scale '90s LAPD SWAT “Kenny” 12-inch figure aka Keanu Reeves

This is my first haul for June 2017: DID MA1003 1/6th scale '90s LAPD SWAT “Kenny” 12-inch action figure which is essentially Keanu Reeves as Los Angeles police officer Jack Traven in the 1994 American action thriller film "Speed". Los Angeles police officer Jack (Keanu Reeves) angers retired bomb squad member Howard Payne (Dennis Hopper) by foiling his attempt at taking hostages. In revenge, Payne arms a bus with a bomb that will explode if it drops below 50 miles per hour. With the help of spunky passenger Annie (Sandra Bullock), Jack and his partner Harry (Jeff Daniels) try to save the people on the bus before the bomb goes off, while also trying to figure out how Payne is monitoring them.

I first saw this figure previewed at the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) 2016 - check out the post on my toy blog HERE. DID released the official prototype pictures in March 2017 (see the pics HERE) and although this figure is really late arriving at the scene (the film was released 23 years ago), I think it's still worth the wait. I am more interested in the figure wearing plain clothes with EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) vest than the LAPD SWAT figure since many SWAT figures have been released already and I myself have quite a number of them in my collection. It's most disconcerting when law enforcement officers dress like the military and are armed to the teeth like they are going to war. The battles are no longer confined to the war zones but are now fought on the homeland in one's own backyard. That's a very scary thought because it means you are not safe anywhere anymore. What with the recent UNITED Airlines fiasco it seems the world is descending into chaos and mayhem is the new normal. There's a picture of this FBI SWAT officer flashing his badge in this post and I thought that was totally redundant seeing how he is dressed and armed. He's not going to flash his badge and ask the perpetrator to freeze. He looks like he's going to shoot and ask questions later.

Speed is a 1994 American action thriller film directed by Jan de Bont in his feature film directorial debut. The film stars Keanu Reeves, Dennis Hopper, Sandra Bullock, Joe Morton, Alan Ruck, and Jeff Daniels. It became a surprise critical and commercial success, winning two Academy Awards, for Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing, at the 67th Academy Awards in early 1995. The film tells the story of an LAPD cop who tries to rescue civilians on a city bus rigged with a bomb programmed to explode if the bus slows down. Keanu Reeves stars as Los Angeles SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) Officer Jack Traven.

DID's MA1003 1/6th scale '90s LAPD SWAT “Kenny” 12-inch action figure looks like it's inspired by Keanu Reeves' Jack Traven character in Speed. DID 1/6th U.S. Army 2nd Armored Division Military Police "BRYAN" figure aka Ross Geller

The 2nd Armored Division ("Hell on Wheels") was an armored division of the United States Army. The 2nd Armored Division was formed at Fort Benning, Georgia on 15 July 1940. It was originally commanded by Major General Charles L. Scott, with Colonel George S. Patton in charge of training. Scott was promoted to command the I Armored Corps in November of that year, which put Patton, now a brigadier general, in command of the division. The division played an important role during World War II in the invasions of North Africa and Sicily and the liberation of France, Belgium, and the Netherlands and the invasion of Germany.

Military police (MP) are law enforcement agencies connected with, or part of, the military of a state. The status of military police is usually prominently displayed on the helmet and/or on an armband, brassard, or arm or shoulder flash.

The head sculpt has an incredible likeness to David Schwimmer who played Ross Geller in the NBC sitcom Friends. He also played Captain Herbert M. Sobel in Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks' HBO World War II miniseries Band of Brothers, a role not suited for him due to the fact that as Ross Geller, David Schwimmer was a fan favorite and Captain Herbert M. Sobel wasn't popular for his hard and cruel ways.
