Men in Black: International (stylized as MIB: International in promotional material) is a 2019 American science fiction action comedy film directed by F. Gary Gray and written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. It is a spin-off of the Men in Black film series, which is loosely based on the Malibu/Marvel comic book series of the same name by Lowell Cunningham. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Kumail Nanjiani, Rebecca Ferguson, Rafe Spall, Laurent and Larry Bourgeois, and Liam Neeson. E&S Special Air Service (SAS) Counter Revolutionary Warfare (CRW) Assaulter figure

The Special Air Service (SAS) is the British Army's most renowned Special Forces unit. The SAS can trace its existence back to 1941 when British Army volunteers conducted raids behind enemy lines in the North African Campaign of World War II. Currently the unit undertakes a number of roles including covert reconnaissance, counter-terrorism, direct action and hostage rescue.

Much of the information and actions regarding the SAS is highly classified, and is not commented on by the British government or the Ministry of Defence due to the sensitivity of their operations.

From the moment several black-clad figures appeared on the balconies of the Iranian Embassy in London in 1980, the Special Air Service became 'celebrities' both at home and overseas earning them the reputation as the worlds most elite Special Force. The Regiment is also famous for its motto “Who Dares Wins”.

Let's not forget all the police officers out there performing their duties and keeping the world safe while we celebrate and party this New Year's Eve :)

The New York City Police Department Emergency Service Unit is a component of the NYPD Citywide Operations Bureau's Special Operations Division. The unit is uniquely trained and equipped to perform tactical (Special Weapons and Tactics, SWAT) and technical rescue duty for other department elements. Members of ESU are cross-trained in multiple disciplines for police and rescue work.

The personnel selected for ESU become highly trained, elite members of the NYPD who perform rescue, SWAT and other high risk tactical, counter-narcotic and counter-terror operations. There are minimum time-in-grade requirements before an NYPD officer can apply to transfer to ESU. Police Officers must have a minimum of 5 years on the job with a minimum annual rating of 3.5. Supervisors in the rank of sergeants and lieutenants must have 2 years in rank before being assigned to ESU. In addition, all ESU candidates must be approved by a group of current ESU members to ensure that they will integrate into the unit successfully.

REDMAN TOYS 1/6th scale THE ONE DX 12-inch Collectible Figure aka NEO from The Matrix

It feels like it's a Throwback Thursday, Flashback Friday and Retro Saturday all rolled into one recently. First, we saw Supermad Toys 1/6th scale Six Million Bionic Man Collectible Figure (pics HERE) which was an attempt to replicate the Kenner 1/6th scale The Six Million Dollar Man Lee Majors as Steve Austin 13-inch tall action figure from 1975 (action figure review posted HERE). Then there was the recast of 1982 Blade Runner 12-inch action figures by Redman Toys previewed HERE (they are supposed to be Rick Deckard and Roy Batty, no doubt helped in part by the soon-to-be-released sequel, Blade Runner 2049) previously released by Brother Production in 2009 (see my previous toy blog post HERE) and now we have prototype / preview pics of Redman Toys THE ONE, an obvious nod to Keanu Reeves as Thomas A. Anderson aka Neo from The Matrix (1999) which was released by Hot Toys in 2001, before they started their MMS line and did things by the book i.e. with official license - check out the pics of Hot Toys THE ONE HERE.

The second season of the American web television series Daredevil, which is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, follows Matt Murdock / Daredevil, a blind lawyer-by-day who fights crime at night, crossing paths with the deadly Frank Castle / Punisher along with the return of an old girlfriend–Elektra Natchios. Charlie Cox stars as Murdock, while Jon Bernthal and Élodie Yung are introduced as Castle and Natchios.

The Punisher is a vigilante who employs murder, kidnapping, extortion, coercion, threats of violence, and torture in his war on crime. Driven by the deaths of his wife and two children, who were killed by the mob for witnessing a killing in New York City's Central Park, the Punisher wages a one-man war on the mob and all criminals in general by using all manner of conventional war weaponry. A war veteran of the United States Marine Corps Scout Sniper, Frank Castle (born Francis Castiglione) is a master of martial arts, stealth tactics, guerrilla warfare, and a wide variety of weapons.

In feature films, Dolph Lundgren portrayed the Punisher in 1989, as did Thomas Jane in 2004, and Ray Stevenson in 2008. Jon Bernthal portrays the character in the second season of Marvel's Daredevil as a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Bernthal is set to reprise the role in The Punisher, his own self-titled series.

Venom is now a good guy - Kotobukiya 1/10th scale Agent Venom ARTFX+ 7.5-inch tall statue

Kotobukiya’s Marvel Comics ARTFX+ Statues have brought you Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the Avengers as well as the heroic mutants of the X-Men. The latest series of high quality 1/10th scale ARTFX+ figures celebrates iconic characters appearing in Spider-Man titles, and up next is the Marvel Now! incarnation of the bonded alien symbiote: AGENT VENOM!

After being used by anti-hero Eddie Brock and the villain Mac Gargan, the Venom symbiote was captured by the U.S. government for use in a secret military program. It was assigned to none other than Eugene “Flash” Thompson, a character who first appeared bullying Peter Parker in high school all the way back in 1962 but who more recently served with distinction in the Army. Agent Venom fought supervillains on Earth and in deep space along with the Guardians of the Galaxy, and now the symbiotic hero joins the Spider-Man lineup in an amazing ARTFX+ Statue presentation based on artwork by Stefano Caselli.

Agent Venom from Marvel’s “Spider-Man Hall of Fame” gets his own Artfx+ figure from Kotobukiya! Peter Parker’s former tormentor and current best friend Flash Thompson lost both of his legs in the Iraq War, and then regained them due to fusing with the Venom symbiote; at that time he became Agent Venom. Now a hero working for the military, Agent Venom sports armor and plenty of weaponry, and is posed in a tense combat position with his twin pistols at the ready.
