New job

It's week 2 at Cupcake Inspirations. We are having an "Anything Goes" challenge. Always a fan favorite and you guys have been up to the challenge. So many of you have joined the fun. There is still time to enter!

My card today was another card that I made for my boss, who resigned for a big promotion at a different health system. I was happy for him, but sad to see him leave.

This card might look complicated, but it really wasn't. I stamped a bunch of shamrocks all over a piece of card stock and colored them with copic markers. I then just die cut the word job. The rest is pretty self explanatory.

You all have one more week to decorate those naked cupcakes and show us your creations at Cupcake Inspirations.

We the people

I send out cards for ALL the holidays, so that includes 4th of July.  4th of July stamp sets are hard to come by- kinda like St. Patrick's Day stamps. So when I see patriotic stamps, they are going in my cart!

Today starts a new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. This challenge reads patriotic!

We want you to get your flag on, using red, white, and blue on your creations at Cupcake Inspirations

My card today features two stamps no longer available, the wood stamp with the Declaration of Independence on it and the Paper Smooches sentiment. But the "Simply Celebrate" set from Lawn Fawn is one of my go to stamp sets for a quick and easy card.

You have two weeks to get your flag on at Cupcake Inspirations and show us your red, white, and blue!!

Life saver

Good morning Sweeties! I am here to remind you that you have one more week to pa,y along with our nautical theme challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. I also want to remind you that the theme nautical means: anything relating to sailors, ships, or navigation.

My card today uses  Lawn Fawn's - "Float my Boat". I don't have many nautical type stamps, so I had to make do with this one set.

This card is going out to may doctor, I had a bit of a scare this week, thinking I might have gotten Covid. I was feeling pretty crappy and had some shortness of breath- something I have never had.  She took care of me immediately got me tested right away and my test came back negative!!! So relieved. She and all the nurses who took care of me at the very efficient testing center are my life savers.

You have till the end of the week to play along with our nautical challenge at Cupcake Inspirations!

Float my boat

Hi everyone! If it's Monday , it must mean it is time for another challenge at Cupcake Inspiration. Today's theme is NAUTICAL. Sounds like a summery theme to me.

I have always thought I was organized within my clutter, but for some reason , I just could not find a stamp set that I wanted to use for this particular challenge. Has that ever happened to you? i search amd search, but just couldn't find it. I had to use this set by Lawn Fawn- "Float my Boat".  Everything turns out for a reason and I love this card, with it's paper pieced sails.

The waves as you can get a glimpse is a very old wood stamp. Do any of you even use wood anymore? I used a kaleidacolor pad for the waves, another oldie but goodie.

Message

Woo hoo!!! Yippeeeeeee!!!! It's Friday!! The best day of the week!! It's time for another challenge at CAS on Friday!!

Today's challenge is a bit different than our other challenges. It is a sketch challenge.

Sketch challenges are always fun, because you aren't tied to a theme or colors. Basically you can pick whatever stamps you want and fit them to the sketch. I usually try to go for stamp sets that haven't been shown some inky love in awhile. Today that deserving stamp is "Just My Type" from Lawn Fawn. Unfortunately, this stamp set is no longer available.

Get out some old and neglected stamps, show them some love and join us in our CAS sketch challenge. Be sure to share it with us at  CAS on Friday . You have two weeks to play along. Please make sure your card is CAS (see the rules if you are not sure) or you will not be considered for the top prize or a top three spot.

Our winner will be the guest designer for the next challenge at CAS on Friday!!

Falalalala!! It's almost Christmas!!

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!! Today is the day for George and I. I make a fancy dinner and we open our gifts.

I felt so behind the eightball with Thanksgiving coming so late, but somehow as I sat watching Hallmark Christmas movies last night, I said to George, that I actually had a handle on evrything and I can enjoy Christmas eve without all the last minute running around and cooking I am, usually doing.

It's something to sing about.

Something else to sing about is CAS on Friday is having a DT call! You know me I am all about CAS, so I am throwing my hat in the ring for a 2020 position on their awesome team! Wish me luck!!

Wishing you a festive and fun filled day before!!

Five weeks in a balloon

The challenge over at The Library Challenge is hosted by visiting librarian, Martina. She chose "Five Weeks in a Balloon" by Jules Verne. I gotta say I never read this book, but I am pretty sure I saw the movie as a kid.

But the idea of a ride in a hot air balloon does sound awesome- but.....five weeks not so much!!

I don't have many hot air balloons, but I do have this cute one from Lawn Fawn. So I pulled it out and started playing around. After tossing a few cards in the trash, I came up with this idea. It appeals to my CAS heart.

Here's to the red, white, and blue!

Despite it being about 102 degrees in my studio, I have been getting in some quality crafting time. I was checking some of the various challenges out there and decided to play along with CAS(E) this Sketch.

They always have very clean and simple designs that I gravitate towards. As soon I saw this week's sketch, I knew what I was going to create. After all it is the birth of our Nation this week.

I used a very old set from Lawn Fawn called "Happy 4th". Unfortunately it is sold out and retired. There are not many patriotic stamps out there, so this one gets a work out every year.

Head over to CAS(E) this Sketch and see what the DT came up with and play along!

Go with your heart

I don't know about you, but by the time Christmas is done, my mojo just disappears. It takes awhile for it to return and each year I think how am I ever going to create my Valentine cards. What do you all to get your mojo back? For me it was looking at pinterest, buying some new stamps always helps and of course pushing myself by entering a challenge.

My card today is for my special guy, George. he loves any cards with teddy bears on them. Where did he come from??!!? Really??!!? Teddies??!!? Ya just gotta love a guy who loves teddy bears!!

I am entering this card to The Male Room. The theme this week is "love your man". Well, I sure love my man!! For my card, I used Newton's Nook's "Winston takes flight". The trail of hearts is a very old Hero Arts stamp- back when there was only wood stamps!! LOL !!! The sentiment is from Mama Elephant's "sight seeing".

The Card Concept is hosting a "love in in the air" challenge. Come on I would be foolish not to enter!!

I made a very similar card for the male nurses on my staff.  I used the airplane from Lawn Fawn's "bon voyage".   It's always a challenge to create a Valentine card for a guys who aren't your "special someone".

Check out the challenge over at The Male Room. There is still time to play along.

White Christmas

No more pencils, no more books, no more teacher's looks, lectures, and assignments.!!! Yep, school is done!! I graduate this Wednesday with my Master's Woo hoo!!! I have all the time in thworld to stamp and create. Just in time for Christmas!

Today's card is for my annual holiday card swap with my crafting buddies. It is inspired by the challenge at AAA Cards. Their challenge is to create a CAS card that is "mostly white". Well I am down with that, especiall as most of my cards are mainly white.

I used a very old Cuttlebug holiday embossing folder, and a just bought Lawn Fawn set called "Winter Village", that I colored with neutral copic colors. I am entering this card in the "anything goes Christmas" challenge at Inkspirational Challenges and the Christmas card challenge at CAS on Friday.

Since this card is for my swap tomorrow, I better wrap up this blog posting to cut and prep the card. Hit the links in this post and check out the challenges and play along.
