Celebrate!

Another great Monday in the life of my retirement!! Plus it is only 6 days until my birthday!!! Yippee!! I love my birthday!! I always have, but to be fair, I love anyone's birthday. I think birthdays are special. Not to mention it is the perfect reason to stamp!! Birthday cards to make.

There is still time to play along with our patriotic color challenge at Inky Paws. Red, cobalt blue, turquoise, and white.

I am loving this challenge because it  it is the perfect opportunity to use "Newton's 4th of July stamp set by Newton's Nook. When I first joined the Inky paws team, Jen from Newton's Nook asked the new  members was there any stamp set they wanted to see and I piped up that I wanted to see Newton on a fire cracker. Low and behold a few years later, I got my wish!!

Today's music inspiration is honor of my birthday!! May I stay "forever young"!!

You have one more week to get patriotic at Inky Paws. We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20.00 Newton's Nook store gift certificate. Our favorite entries from each challenge will be highlighted the following Monday, so all entries have a chance to be featured on the blog.

The deadline to enter today's challenge is  Friday July 1, 2022 at MN CST. The winners will be announced on the following Monday at  Inky Paws.

little firecracker

Just a few weeks till the 4th of July! This is always a big holiday for me because I have a birthday on the second! I was born by c-section and I was always bummed that I wasn't born on the 4th! My mom always said I was still her little firecracker!

Today starts a new challenge at Inky Paws! A patriotic color challenge to get you in the mood for either celebrating our country or maybe me!!!! We are asking you to use red, cobalt blue, turquoise, and white.

My quick and easy card features the fireworks stencil and "Newton's 4th of July" from Newton's Nook.

Today's musical inspiration is from the iconic Bruce Springstein!

Fireworks

Today, I am featuring a transition card at Cupcake Inspirations. I am moving from our red, white, and blue challenge to our new challenge of "oh birdie".

My card today is for my husband for 4thbof July. Because even after 34 years he still gives me fireworks. My birds are from Pretty Pink Posh, "Hummingbird Thanks" and the fireworks and sentiment are from My Favorite Things.

So as they say in Portlandia- "put a bird on it" and join us at Cupcake Inspirations for our "oh birdie" challenge. You have two weeks to play along.

We the people

I send out cards for ALL the holidays, so that includes 4th of July.  4th of July stamp sets are hard to come by- kinda like St. Patrick's Day stamps. So when I see patriotic stamps, they are going in my cart!

Today starts a new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. This challenge reads patriotic!

We want you to get your flag on, using red, white, and blue on your creations at Cupcake Inspirations

My card today features two stamps no longer available, the wood stamp with the Declaration of Independence on it and the Paper Smooches sentiment. But the "Simply Celebrate" set from Lawn Fawn is one of my go to stamp sets for a quick and easy card.

You have two weeks to get your flag on at Cupcake Inspirations and show us your red, white, and blue!!

Here's to the red, white, and blue!

Despite it being about 102 degrees in my studio, I have been getting in some quality crafting time. I was checking some of the various challenges out there and decided to play along with CAS(E) this Sketch.

They always have very clean and simple designs that I gravitate towards. As soon I saw this week's sketch, I knew what I was going to create. After all it is the birth of our Nation this week.

I used a very old set from Lawn Fawn called "Happy 4th". Unfortunately it is sold out and retired. There are not many patriotic stamps out there, so this one gets a work out every year.

Head over to CAS(E) this Sketch and see what the DT came up with and play along!

Yay for the red, white and blue!!

If you are living in the States, you will be celebrating our country's independence. My birthday is on the 2nd, so I plan a 3 day celebration that goes right into July 4th. When I was a kid I always told people I was born on the 4th. I wanted to be a little firecracker. Well all I can say I may not have been born on the 4th but I am still a firecracker!!

I took this weekend off from all things school and decided to do what ever I wanted which is stamping!! My hubby and bestie both got me lots of new stamping stuff including all of the Altenew inks, which are fabulous. For my card today I used Altenew's ruby red and sapphire inks.

It has been a month since I last blogged!!! Yikes, where does the time go?!!? I decided to check out some of my fav challenges to inspire me. Several were hosting red, white and blue challenges and since it is the 4th, I decide to join in with a patriotic card.

I am entering this card at CAS-ual Friday and Curtain Call for their red, white and blue challenges.

CASology's theme is the word "row". I went rather expected with my card. No surprises.

A new challenge for me is Cards in Envy. They want cards that can be sent through the mail!! Love that idea. Today's challenge is "stripes"

Sometimes the most simple card takes awhile, today's card was no exception. Getting the rows of stripes straight and not smudged and then adding the stars evenly. It took 4 tries.

So check back again this week, I hope to share other cards I have been working on over this holiday weekend.

Happy 4th and 300th!!!!

Happy 4th of July to all those in the US! But even bigger- happy 300th challenge to my chicks at Just Us Girls!!  Congratulations!! What an achievement!! They are having a big celebration there with all kinds of prizes and awesome creations. be sure to check it out and join in the fun!

My card today features that ever popular set from My Favorite Things- "you make my tail wag" and a fun set from Julie Ebersole for Ellen Hutson- "wish big". I embellished the balloons with some doodling.

I made the same card for my DH, but made it as a 4th of July card.

Since there is a patriotic theme over at Addicted to CAS, I thought I would join in the fireworks!

Head over to Just Our Girls and congratulate them by playing along this week and play along at Addicted to CAS.

Yay for the Red, White and Blue!!!

I just love the 4th of July, when  was a kid, I so wanted to have been born on the 4th of July (is you follow my blog you know that yesterday- the 2nd was my big day) that I told people that the 4th was y birthday! I wanted to be a fire cracker baby! Well, I may not have been born on the 4th, but ask most people and they would say I am a firecracker!

I used an oldie, but good stamp, It's a parade by Hero Arts and a brand new stamp- Lawn Fawn's Happy 4th. If you click on th picture, you will see all the fireworks are coated with glitter.

My patriotic card this year reminds me of when I was a kid and a whole group of us would to head to the hollow for the town fireworks. I am entering this in the CASology firework challenge.

Because so many challenges naturally are calling for a red, white and blue theme this week, I am also entering this at Craft your Passion, Paper Playtime ,Shopping our Stash and the Color Throw Down.

Wishing all of you a firecracker day!
