Better & Better

Better & Better

Hi There!

Today's Get Well card uses
the Clean and Simple (CAS)
technique
......all it takes is some
accurate stamping...........!

Here's Craftyfield to show
us how it is done:

For this particular card I wanted to send,
there was no ready made card and no
sentiment stamp that could express
the exact feeling....

I had to make my own and use
a printed sentiment instead.

I should say that the image has nothing
to do with the message, but I like it
and I know the recipient will like it too!

Apart from the printer and the small brad,
these are the supplies I used, and all I did
was stamp this gorgeous Imagination Crafts Art
image with the Kaleidacolor inkpad on
 white cardstock.

Really simple and quick!

If you think the elephants are cute
have a peek at the owls, cats and
fox cub stamps.... I want them all!"

Supplies:

Thank you Craftyfield; this card
would surely bring a smile to
any poorly person's day!

I love the combination of these
stamps and those ink pads -
versatile or what?!

'Till tomorrow,

Rainbow

Rainbow

Hi there!

Interesting the snippets of information
that can be gleaned from a calendar when
we take the time to read it!  I generally
just look to see if I have any commitments
that day - breathe a sigh of relief if not or
get my headless chicken head on otherwise!

However, today for some reason the small
print caught my eye and I see that it is
specifically St Patrick's Day in Northern Ireland
according to my calendar.  Wonder if it is also
St Patrick's Day day elsewhere in the world?
I know St Patrick's day is a big event in
other countries too.......

Today we have Helen Chilton with one of
the new Lynne Perella stamp sets and the
main image on this set is ......... read on.....

"Stamp the image onto glossy cardstock with StazOn ink.

Colour in with the Spectrum KaleidaColor inkpad

Colour the fine details with a coton bud.
Here I've used the yellow from the Bouquet inkpad.

Add highlights with a white pen

Stamp the column block 3 times in black and
colour/highlight as before

Run the Bouquet inkpad directly along
the edge of some glossy cardstock.

Turn the card and repeat along shorter edge,
turn card again and repeat etc.

Quickly blend inks with paper towel

Using the border stamp, stamp all over
background with Bouquet inkpad

ink up border in black and stamp part of it
round edge of background"

Materials used:

PaperArtsy Lynne Perrella Collection ELP037
KaleidaColor inkpads: Spectrum, Bouquet
Ranger Archival inkpad: Jet Black
White highlighter pen

Thank you Helen for a
lovely project and a super
background technique

No, definitely not St Patrick,
he's obviously Prince Charming..............isn't he?
Or could he be St Valentine?......

Rainbow

Rainbow

Hallo Everyone!

Here we go with day two of
the Rainbow topic and here
is Craftyfield with an
array of butterflies

"I have been very late to the party with the
Kaleidacolor inkpads, even though I have
known about them for years.

I had seen people brayering with them
and producing the most beautiful scenes but,
somehow, I only got around to get my first pad
only last year. And then, I fell in love...
I now have several pads, and plan to buy more!

Today, I am using Kaleidacolor inks in 2 ways
,
for brayering of course, and also to ink my stamps.

I am using glossy paper because this shows off the
vibrant colours I chose to their best effect.

I inked 3 butterflies of different sizes with the
Kaleidacolor - Autumn Leaves inkpad and stamped
 them on glossy cardstock.

I also stamped the butterflies on a spare
piece of paper to create masks.

Before the next step, I placed the masks
over the stamped butterflies to protect them

Using a piece of Cut & Dry I applied Versamark through the
 Pixelated stencil as a resist.

I ink the brayer by rolling it over the inkpad several times
and roll it on a craft sheet to ensure a smooth distribution
 of the ink.

Some people use a piece of paper for that but
I hate wasting all that ink, this way I can come back and
pick the ink up from the craft sheet.

I brayered from the bottom of the card and
then from the top placing the lighter colours
in the middle of the card.

Now I use my stamp positioner to place my
butterfly outlines on top of the solid shapes
I stamped previously.

I am using black for the outline.

My sentiment is stamped with Versamark and embossed with white powder.

A closer look at one of the butterflies..."

Supplies:

Thank you for another super project
Craftyfield It'll soon be butterfly
time again!

These inks are really nice to use and
if you follow the guidelines you will
never get mud and so the pads will
be useable for so much longer

'Till tomorrow

Rainbow

Rainbow

Hi there!

A new week and a new theme
How exciting is that?  Anything
to take our minds off the wind
and the rain

So to start the Rainbow off
here's Jane Castle with a beautiful
flower heart

"Today I'd like to share with you a Mother's Day
card that I made using a Kaleidacolor rainbow ink pad
to colour all my flowers, leaves and die cuts.

Using my Caribbean Sea ink pad I began to
colour various different types of paper and card

This was done by swiping the ink pad across
each piece but always going in the same direction.

For this I used old dictionary pages, watercolour paper,
300gsm white card, Grunge paper and
T.H. Ideaology Kraft Resist.

For some I had the raised pads separate and
for others I slid the pads together

Next I selected various flower stamps I thought I might like to use,
a list will be added at the bottom of the page.

The flowers were either stamped in black ink and then
heat embossed with clear powder
or stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed
with white powder.

These were cut out by hand and a few were then passed
through an embossing folder and the detail hi-lighted
using some Treasure Gold Wax.

Next I made a paper stencil of the heart shape
I wanted to form on my card with my flowers
and using this lightly inked through to
give an outline to follow.

The leaves were then stamped using the
Caribbean Sea ink pad and a trailing leaf stamp from PaperArtsy.

The cut out leaves were shaped over a pokey tool
and stuck onto the card with Pinflair glue

Then it was a case of layering the flowers and
trying out the design before attaching anything permently.

For the centres I used a mix of brads, buttons
and pearl beads.

A few loops of matching ribbon were also added

The word wonderful was stamped in black onto an off-cut
and then mounted onto a darker coloured scrap.

The letters MUM were cut using Memory Box
Parker Upper case die and more of the off-cuts.

The final touch was a small heart shaped button
in the bottom righthand corner.

I love the richness of the colour palette from
this ink pad and the coverage is very good
on even the most absorbant of surfaces.

The added bonus of being able to separate the
different colours means not only can you use
one colour for stamping a small image or sentiment
but also they don't bleed into each other."
