Last day of our Fran-tage week. We hope you enjoyed it and got inspired as there is a new challenge coming up on Sunday. 
Today Gay made this beautiful card for you, using the Gold embossing enamel to create a beautiful embellishment for her card.

I used Gold Frantage embossing enamel deeply embossing it.
Three times I added more powder onto a die cut whilst it was hot, and stamped an image onto the hot enamel. I wasn't happy with my choice of design so I re heated and using a dart/pokey tool, marbled the black Stazon

Fran-tage week: Angel

Hi, 
More samples today using the Fran-tage embossing enamels. First of all with Karen who made this gorgeous angel from one of the Tando Creative blanks.

Here's how Karen made her angel... 

Using the Tando 3D Angel, take the two wing pieces and Fran-tage the wing sections.

 I used the Stampendous Aged Ivory enamel fisrt in two layers then added Rose Fragments and a few Pearlised Mica Fragments.  Assemble all the pieces.  

Wrap some wadding around the head part, cut a circle around 3" across and sew a gathering stitch round the edge. Pull the ends up as you place the circle over the head, fasten.  

Take a strip (around 2"x6") of patterned fabric and gather up one long side.  As you fit the gathered end around the neck snip up to the top of the wings to make it fit. Hand sew the seams.  Repeat with the wide lace and the narrow gold lace.  Cut strips of wool/fibre for the hair and stitch in place.  Paint the crown using gold acrylic.  Wrap some wire over the crown and wrap the ends round the neck under the narrow lace.

And here's a couple of samples that I made a while back. I might have "retired" from blogging etc. but I still "have a play" every so often ;) and those were actually made for a class I taught here.
(the hardest bit will to remember how I made them to tell you ;))

I used the Fran-tage Shabby Blue embossing Enamel ... gorgeous stuff. Make sure you shake the jar well before using to mix the colours or you might end up with everything blue or everything white. Which is what happened on the tag, but I still liked it that way. 

On the first one, I used the Tim Holtz Vintage Cabinet Card to cut several layers of (Amazon parcel left over) cardboard and glued them together. On the base card (cardboard again), I applied a random layer of gesso, stamped the script with Archival ink, then stamped and embossed the swirls (Crafty Individuals CI-173) using the Shabby Blue embossing Enamel. You can see that one of the swirl (top left) is mainly white... the one on the right is blue and the one at the bottom is a bit of both. 

That's what I like about those powders, they are unpredictable, yet the result is always stunning. 

I then added my ribbon, lace, stamped and embossed image (CI-340) and glued the "frame" on top. 

The swirls on the frame were embossed with Stardust embossing powder

Main image is stamped in black (with Versafine ink) and embossed with clear embossing powder

On this one, I had not shaken the jar, so my embossing is mainly blue with some speckles of gold.

I used the Crafty Individuals CI-338

Frantage week: box and card

Gio is with us today with a beautiful (not pink) altered box and a card (you know what? I think she is starting to enjoy making those cards lol). 
Now for the details on how she made it... 

I coloured the clear box putting some drops of Butterscotch, Yellow and Rust Ranger alcohol inks on the Tim Holtz ink applicator, and then patting it lightly on the surface.

I stamped the lady image from CI 335 - Perfumery Paris plate on a piece of gessoed paper, using Jet Black StazOn. I drew an oval and some swirls on the coloured lid with Glossy Accents, and I poured some Frantage Chiffon fragments: on the oval I used plain fragments, for the swirls I crumbled them to have more detailed swirls.

I glued down the stamped image, along with a thin stripe of gessoed music sheet.

The card: I coloured a piece of canvas with Distress Ink Tea Dye, Worn Lipstick and Spiced marmalade. I glued down the lady stamped with CI plate and Jet Black StazOn. I drew an oval with glossy Accents and I poured some crumbled Frantage Chiffon Fragments. I added a thin stripe of gessoed music sheet and I stamped the sentiment using Hobby Art Clear Stamps: Beauty collage.

Frantage week: Wall art

Hi, 
Wall art today... and yes Michelle, I do call it "art" as it is truly beautiful and definitely deserves a place in this category. Take a few Ikea shelves, paint them, add some yummy Fran-tage products and you get yourself a lovely piece to admire for years to come.

I've had these ikea shelves hanging about for a while now and am fed up of seeing them clutter the house so decided to alter them. I measured the sides and cut good quality card 1mm narrower and shorter than the shelf side and adhered it with pva glue

Then did the same on the front and sides of the three shelves. 

When it was dry I covered the card with a coat of PaperArtsy Fresco Paint Vintage Lace paint then immediately blended Fresco Finish Guacamole, Dolly Mix and London Night  Paints  onto the boards so the colours ran in the same place along all three panels.

To varigate the enamel I heated areas of the embossing until it was molten again then sprinkled the darker enamel over the molten area. After shaking off the excess I then heated again to set the second application of enamel.

I picked out a few lines on the pattern and placed a thin line of Glossy Accents where I wanted to place the Frantage colour fragments. While that was drying I cut out some pieces of tissue to fit around the embossing, which had been stamped with the cover a card stamp and Versafine Olympia Green ink. 

I stuck the tissue with a fairly dry coat of watered down matt Multimedium then sealed it with another coat over the top.

I love the organic feel of the finished panels, they remind me of layers of rock and primeval landscapes. They almost look like 'real' art!
