Deliveries and some stitching

The post man was very kind this week and brought me this lovely book by Gail Pan. It is just gorgeous, Gail.
These lovely fabrics arrived in the post a little while ago. Thanks so much, Gail. Can't wait to play with them.
I also ordered this gorgeous book by Wendy Williams. It is so beautiful!
I have been stitching away at my table mat by Lynette Anderson and have now prepared the outer edge. Needs another iron and then the top appliqued in place.
As we are working on this book, Stitch it for Christmas, next term, I started the cushion as well. Any excuse to stitch Christmas things.
Yesterday I was very busy and made Herbie and Percy, the helicopter and plane, from a pattern by Melly and Me. They were a bit of a fiddle but are very cute. They are part of the little men's birthday gifts.

I am getting a bit excited about next week as I am off the Sydney to work on the Be Be Bold stall at the craft show! I will be there each day except Sunday, from 9.30 till 2.30. Hope you come and say hello!

Birthday blessings

I was so blessed on my birthday a few weeks ago. Then we had a few busy weeks so haven't had time to share it with you. I enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with my family on Easter Monday....even the little fellows had a little cake. I also went out for dinner with hubby on the night of my birthday which was delicious. There were also some lovely gifts and I was very spoilt.
The family gave me a gorgeous red saucepan. I know it is a useful gift but this one goes into the oven so wonderful for oven baked risotto and casseroles where you need to brown the meat. They also gave me this gorgeous ship charm! Very appropriate.
It was lovely to receive all these fat quarters from my blogging birthday swap girls. Thanks so much, everyone, they are just beautiful.
Fiona surprised me too with the beautiful canvas work pin cushion. I just love the colours and is just so special.

She also gave me this wonderful book by Yoko Saito. I saw it on her blog and was very tempted to order it then! Luckily I didn't.
Here are just a couple of the wonderful pages of projects in the book.

Karen also surprised me with this beautifully stitched project basket (for my many ongoing works...) and is is just so lovely.

I also received lots of lovely cards.
Thanks to everyone who made my day special.

Craft Show Purchases

Here are some of the things I bought at the Canberra Craft Show. I had bought the curvemaster foot in Sydney so needed some drunkeds path templates and a small rotary cutter to try it out. Note that they are still in their wrappings so they haven't been used yet.
I bought a little (not needed) fabric.
This is the pattern and tool to make rag rugs. I have always wanted to have a go and years ago had admired the rag rugs at the Quilters Barn in Victoria and this is the pattern for their rugs.
The lovely stall with felt and wool tempted me very much and in the end I bought this gorgeous pattern. It is so cute and I might have a little girl to make it for one day!
