The Story of my Day

Finally.....The Story of My Day quilt is finished. It is such a lovely design by Anni Downs and I so enjoyed making this quilt. It has been quilted so beautifully by Robyn of Plain and Fancy. She is so clever!

A little stitching...

We were pretty busy on holidays but I did manage to do a little stitching. I took far more but that was just in case! I managed to stitch one United Stitches block.
I had drawn up these two stitcheries for labels for Anderson's Farm and The Story of my Day.

It is lovely to do a bit of canvas work on the plane so stitched this little red house.
My last project was to start this scarf in lovely wool I bought last year at the wool day at the Bus Depot Markets. It is only 2 ply wool so the scarf is taking a while to crochet but it is fun. Might just be tempted this weekend as the wool day is on again.
I didn't do much shopping. I only bought a few bits for the children and a bit of clothing. I did get these balls of wool and a few bobbins from the Stott bobbin factory.
It was my birthday while away and Penny gave me this gorgeous bag with some lovely wool pieces and some embroidery needles. So special.
When I returned, Lyndal gave me this gorgeous kit for a Rosalie Quinlan necklace. Can't wait to start!
Lyndal also made me this lovely crochet bag (to put my wool in of course) and this beautiful ball of wool. Very spoilt!
It was lovely to go to stitching again on Wednesday and Roni had finished this gorgeous cushion!

Some stitching...

It was lovely to see Jayne's finished bag last Wednesday. I just love her choice of fabrics.

I decided to make another of these appliques for a zippered tote. You may recall that I left mine on the plane last year!!! I just love doing this woven wool felt applique. Now to sew it together.

I have been busy in the sewing room. The inner borders are on The Story of my day and now 3 of the outer borders have been added.

Block 3 of Dancing Chickens and Flying Pigs came last week and I couldn't resist doing it straight away.
I have also been slowly adding to my collection of United stitches blocks.
I completed this one down the coast on the weekend.
It was quite rainy and not warm enough for me to go in but several people did. Bruce managed to capture some lovely pictures.

Preschool and stitching

The big boys headed to preschool last week! They were so excited and it was fun to see them head into this next stage of their lives.

So they needed some library bags and these kept me busy earlier this week.
On Wednesday we minded the boys for the whole day and it was so busy. I managed to lose Mr Ben in Questacon which was very scary for me!! He seemed quite OK! We got very hot attempting to fly kits in the afternoon. We were all too busy to get many photos.
On the stitching front, I made block 99 of The splendid Sampler yesterday.
I have slowly been stitching another block of United stitches.
Just today I have started to applique these little flowers for the borders of The Story of my Day.

Great show and tell

There were some lovely projects on show last Wednesday. Leslie has finished her beautiful basket using the pattern by Anni Downs. She has done an amazing job.

Marlene came to class with this handy needlecase and her Tilda bag all finished. Great work Marlene.

In the evening, Lynn brought in her wonderful quilt to show us. She did the BOM run by Hobbysew and it is a lovely pattern by Natalie Bird.
Lynn has also made this wonderful advernt calendar. It is a great pattern by Marg Low.
Lynne, in the afternoon, also brought in this beautiful zippered pouch that her sister brought back from Japan. So gorgeous.

I have been plodding along with my projects. Here are the last two blocks of The story of my day.

I also completed this crocheted scarf which I started years ago. I bought the cotton cheaply in Japan at the 100 yen shop (like out $2 shops here).

Finally, another couple of blocks for The Splendid Sampler. Only 2 to go!
