Hobbysew party

Hobbysew held the first Christmas party of the season last Friday night. It was a fun night with great specials, yummy food and some lovely show and tell. Great to see so many ladies and to see their finishes or works in progress. Terrie went first and showed us her lovely Seaside Town quilt. She is quilting it now.
I don't know everyone's names but just enjoy their show and tell.

Well done everyone. It was so motivating seeing these lovely projects.

Tilda Showcase

We had a great night at Hobbysew last Friday for a Tilda Showcase. The girls at the shop did a fabulous job decorating with lots of Tilda goodies and provided a delicious supper. It was wonderful to see the samples that Two Green Zebras had organised by designers and makers all over Australia, and some by Tone Finnanger too. It was very motivating.

Stitching

Just a reminder that registrations are due in the next week or so for Stitching on the Lake. We are running 2 days on Saturday 20 February and Saturday 5 March and there are still places on both dates at the moment. Fiona and I are busy creating some lovely projects for you to make. Come along and enjoy some stitching time, lots of chat and a delicious lunch, morning and afternoon tea. For details please email me here. Here are some pictures of our recent days.

I did manage some stitching on the cruise. Mind you I packed enough for several months!!! I had a lovely time stitching some of the projects from Anni Downs' new book, The Story of my Day. We are using this book in my afternoon classes at Hobbysew this coming term.

It was lovely to have a day at home, mostly, yesterday and so I managed to get a few of the samples completed. They are now on display in the shop. I hope to get the last few done over the weekend.

Gorgeous quilt and a party

It was lovely to catch up with Tash at the shop a few weeks ago. She had her gorgeous Anni Downs' boy quilt ready for backing and quilting. Isn't it gorgeous. I love this quilt and have thought about doing 2 for the little men but they would be SO much work!
 The stitcheries are amazing.

Hobbysew us kitting up Bluebird Lane. I am stitching a couple of blocks for the shop sample and they are very lovely applique blocks.
The kit for block one looks so inviting and is beautifully presented!
On Friday night, we had the Hobbysew Christmas party. There was yummy food, of course.
The show and tell was amazing too.

This lovely quilt of Margaret's is hard to see but was just gorgeous in real life. Each block has a saying that you would perhaps hear your mother saying!

Class with Helen Stubbings

Last Sunday, I attended a delightful class at Hobbysew with Helen Stubbings of Hugs and Kisses. It was fun to try some new techniques for needleturn and paper piecing using Helen's special applique paper. We were making this lovely bag.

Helen was a lovely teacher and it was great to catch up with her again.

One of the very special treats was seeing all the lovely samples that Helen brought with her to tempt us. A few patterns came home with me! Hobbysew also has a wonderful selection of Helen's beautiful fabrics.

This gorgeous quilt is going to be offered as a BOM at the shop soon.
This lovely quilt has been coloured with Helen's colourque technique of colouring with pencils.
The quilting was beautifully done too.
