Stitching progress....

It is a crazy world here at the moment. I hope you are all well and not too distressed but the news! We have had to cancel our trip away this year as we were going on 20th April. It is disappointing but better than going and then having to rush back. I have a little cold and feel embarrassed to sniffle! Still, it is time we can use to stitch if we are stuck at home. I have managed to do a bit! I bound and labelled the Splendid Sampler a few weeks ago.

I have been loving hand piecing these large hexagons to frame the Natalie Bird stitchery panel.

My slow old project, Fairy Kisses, is getting there. I am about to do the last big borders!

I have also had so much fun crocheting the Tendril shawl by Anni Design Crochet. It is a free pattern on her blog or you can purchase a print friendly version in UK terms from Ravelry. It needs blocking but I am please with it and the ball of wool (located in my stash) worked so well.
Social stitching at Hobbysew is being cancelled from now on due to the dreaded virus! Last week we saw a little show and tell. Paddy has made this gorgeous jumper and hat ready for her little grandson.

Roni has been busy too and made these lovely cross stitch pillows. She changed the colours on the second one. I wish I had thought to do this on my one.

Quilts etc

It was very exciting last week to pick up 4 quilts from the quilter! So good to be getting some of these older projects finished. I had Here, There and Everywhere basted for hand quilting. The other three were the Splendid Sampler, Teddies Garden Treasures and the baby quilt I stitched in 2005! The last, Golden slumbers, is a lovely pattern by the late Vivian Robinson.
This one is Teddy's Garden Treasures designed by Libby Richardson. The stitching was done on time in 2006. This week I have bound it and made a label.

Here is Golden Slumbers. I am working on the label now. I even pieced the back.

Finally I am still slowly working on Fairy Kisses.

We enjoyed a lovely stitching night at Maree's recently. She has been busy and has finished all of these great projects.

Some progress and hail...

We have had another crazy weather week. On Monday there was an amazing hail storm. It was very bad and many homes were damaged as were so many cars. Luckily we only had a little damage to some skylights and our cars were safe. I was home when it happened and it was scary. I then drove to Kingston to help at the kids club they run called Smad Camp in the afternoon and the hail was so big there and it was even hard to drive. Here are the boys with some of the big hail. They had a great time this week at Smad.

Last week my blog book arrived. It is always lovely to print it out as it captures so many memories......stitching, family, holidays and so on!

I have been stitching and doing a little crochet. They were calling for nests for animals hurt from the bushfires. I made a couple of these.
I finished stitching this little cross stitch started last year. It was fun to stitch.
Over the last few weeks I have added more rows and now the borders to the Splendid Sampler quilt. I am very happy with the result.

Some progress..

It has been nice to have some stitching time over the last few weeks. I did finally put away all the decorations, which did take a while! I have been working on a few ufos. I started to sew together my Splendid Sampler blocks from a few years ago. I am quite enjoying the process as the French General fabrics look so nice. Here is row 1 and then 5 rows done.

I had stitched this lovely Kathy Schmitz Santa earlier in the year so it was nice to put it together into a cushion.
This one has taken ages. It is the Stitched Circle Basket from the Stitching Day in September. It is a lovely design by Lynette Anderson. I am not feeling too confidant about putting it together
It was lovely to catch up with the ladies on Wednesday. Jayne showed us this gorgeous little puppy pin cushion.

Roni had made these amazing cross stitch decorations. So beautiful!

And a memory! My Amy made this little nativity when she was small. It was fairly ruined but thought it was worth taking a picture of it!

Great show and tell and a finish

It was very inspiring at class yesterday as there was so much wonderful show and tell. Roni has been so busy and has quilted her Splendid Sampler using the quilt as you go technique. It looks very good. I wish she would do mine!!!!

Roni has also finished her amazing boro bag.

Jayne has done a beautiful job on her boat for the Seaside town Button club.
Janelle is new to afternoon class and she shared this wonderful hexagon quilt in Tilda fabrics. It was too big to get a picture of all of it.

Lynne has been busy too and has made these lovely bookmarks and this beautiful pencil case.

I went to see my very clever quilter, Robyn, last week and picked up my 3 quilts. I am still working on the others but am very excited to share a "finish"! Anderson's farm is all quilted, bound and even has a label! Just check out the beautiful closeups of the quilting.
