Stitching updates

I have continued working on my Yoko Saito quilt and have appliqued the blocks to the borders and added some trees, lampposts and birds.

I have also had some fun cutting squares for a liberty scarf!

Roni shared this amazing quilt with us last week. It is so beautiful. Pattern by Wendy Williams.

May is almost over and next month is going to be exciting. Firstly a trip to Sydney to see Mamma Mia and then off overseas for our first trip to Europe for several years! Best get my packing done!

Progress

I am feeling very pleased as I have made some progress on my ongoing projects. So excited to have finished the final border of the Vermont Summer Medallion. Lots of hand stitching here.

I vowed to myself that after the Medallion top was done I would go back to my Yoko Saito Mystery quilt (started years ago) and put it together. It didn't even take that much time!!!

I also made up this cute pouch that I had stitched on the retreat.

Plus two more little hats for the hospital babies.
So lovely to be able to tick off a few more steps on these projects.

Some progress

I have been working on a few of my ongoing projects over the last weeks. I had to try and catch up on my Dancing Chickens and Flying Pigs blocks as part 6 was coming! Here is Part 5 and my progress so far on Part 6. These are such fun to stitch.

I showed you this block of the Yoko Saito Mystery quilt and I just needed to add 2 little dogs! This is the last block and then they need to be pieced and appliqued onto the large background piece before adding stairs etc.

I used up all my wool to finish this crocheted scarf.
Finally.....a year had passed since I last did the patchwork on the Scandinavian Rose stitcheries. I plan to do some piecing each month!

Stitching

We are in packing mode here at the moment as we set off on an adventure overseas on Monday. We are heading to France for about 3 weeks and then to the UK for the other 3 weeks. We will certainly miss these little people (and their parents) while we are away.

We had our last classes this week and it was lovely to see what the ladies have been stitching. Lynne has made another bag and another canvas work scissor keeper.

Roni popped in to show us her lovely cushions.
Paddy and Margaret went to Marg Low's classes at the shop on the weekend and really enjoyed the time. Here are their decorations all done.

Margaret has also made this gorgeous mini quilt with her Foxley village leftovers,
Sue is working on this amazing bag for a gift, There are over 100 little hexies.
I took my Mystery quilt block away and working on the applique. Now I am hoping to complete the stitching before I go away.

I have also completed this cosy cardigan for Miss Alice.
I was very spoilt too this week as Paddy made me these fantastic knitted socks for my birthday in April! They are so soft and warm.

Beautiful stitching

Last week, I took some photos at class of some lovely stitching but my memory card died!!! So sad. Armed with a new one I was able to take some this week. Paddy brought in her gorgeous boro bag all finished! It looks so good and we all want to make one. It is a pattern and kit by Jane from BeBebold.

Lynne came this week with some more amazing finishes. I love these little zippered bags.
She also cross stitched this piece to put in the top of this box. Amazing.
She also created a little scissor keeper to match. Here is the front and back.

I have been stitching too. After taking my quilts to Robyn last week, I felt guilty about Nature's Journey which needed binding. It is done!
I also made a label. Don't look too closely as I made a spelling mistake with permanent pen!
I have stitched another little one of the United Stitches set.
Lastly, I got inspired and started block 6 of the Yoko Saito Mystery quilt. I do love making these little houses!

Stitching...

So lovely to be able to show some special show and tell from last week, Doreen came along to stitching last week wearing this amazing crocheted necklace that came from Melbourne. A few of us might just need one of these!

Jayne brought along this gorgeous pin cushion she made from an Anni Downs kit!
Brenda has just finished this wonderful Doctor Who quilt for her neice. Isn't she lucky? Great work Brenda.
 Even the back is wonderful.
I had a lovely Friday at home and a quiet Saturday last week and it is so nice to get a few things done! I managed to piece 2 more blocks of The story of my Day quilt.

My very slow work in progress had the last few windows embroidered. Only block 6 to go and then the outer borders.
A nice easy block done for the Splendid Sampler.
I ad already appliqued and embroidered my chooks so it was nice to piece the block for Anderson's Farm.

Finally, I dragged out another 2 blocks of Scandinavian Rse and pieced them together. Luckily, I had lots of little squares already cut for the piecing!
It was so good to get a few of these things done as June is almost here!
