Tuxedo Pocket Card

Here is my Tuxedo Pocket Card! You can use this card for many occasions, like a wedding invitation, bachelor party, birthday or Father’s Day. Make it different colors or change up the bow tie for a tie, and it can be less formal!
How cute would this be for wedding or formal party invitations?! You could just print out the invite on the shirt insert!

Downhill for Diabetes was a SUCCESS!

Our 1st Anuual Downhill for Diabetes Charity event was on Sunday February 13th, 2011 at Pico Mountain Resort in Vermont.

It was a huge success!
Participants raised money to ski or snowboard, similar to a donation walk, just Vermont style!

The purpose of this event is to raise money to continue funding research and ultimately come up with a cure for diabetes!

We raised over $8500.00 this year!

Punch Art Mini Calla Lilies

Sorry for my lack of posting lately, I have been working full time for our Downhill for Diabetes ski and snowboard event that is next month!
My mom came to visit last week and brought her new Blossom Petals punch from the Occasions Mini Catalog! I love this punch and I can't wait to get mine! You have already seen my large punched Calla Lilies that I made with this punch and here are mini ones using the same technique!
I used the Easter Blossoms stamp set for the sentiment with the Large Oval punch and Scallop Oval Punch.

You can see how I made the larger calla lilies HERE shown below. The only difference with these smaller ones, are that I used the two smaller sized punched pieces on the same punch!

Punch Art Calla Lilies

Sorry for my lack of posting lately, I have been working full time for our Downhill for Diabetes ski and snowboard event that is next month!
My mom came to visit and brought her new Blossom Petals punch from the Occasions Mini Catalog! I love this punch and I can't wait to get mine! Here are my punch art Calla Lilies that I made with it!
I used the Easter Blossoms stamp set for the sentiment with the Large Oval punch, Modern Label punch and Decorative Label punch.

Here is how I made them:
I punched the petals out of Whisper White card stock using the Blossoms Petal punch. These are the two largest sized petals.

I trimmed the scallops off the top of the largest petal and sponged them all with Sahara Sand ink.

I cut the stamen freehand out of Daffodil Delight card stock. I put this on with a dimensional and then one of the petals over it. I put a dimensional under the middle of the top petal and glued the pointed tip down with Tombow adhesive so it wouldn't pop up.

I did the same thing with the top petal.

I then sponged the bottom of the flower with Wild Wasabi ink and cut the stem freehand out of Wild Wasabi paper. The leaves are punched out and sponged. Your calla lily is finished!

Silpada Jewelry Party to Benefit Diabetes!

A good friend of mine that sells Silpada jewelry has offered that if I have a party she will donate 100% of the proceeds from the party to our Downhill for Diabetes ski/snowboard event!!
(For any of you not familiar with my site, my five year old daughter Ashley was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. We have started a non-profit organization to raise funds to help find a cure for this disease!)

So needless to say I am going to have a Silpada party!

I thought I would extend the offer on my blog in case anyone wants some new jewelry. If you are not familiar with Silpada it is great quality jewelry with amazing designs. The actual physical party will be Tuesday January 25th and any orders you place will be shipped directly to you in plenty of time for Valentine's Day!
You can order right on the site by contacting Pam. The orders will be added to my party and ALL of the proceeds are going to help find a cure for diabetes!

You can go through the catalog online HERE and then choose the "contact me" link on the site and let Pam know what you want.

You can see more details about the Downhill for Diabetes event here.

Thank you so much for all of your continued support and well wishes during this difficult time! Ashley has recently gotten her insulin pump and it has been wonderful! She is an amazing kid and loves showing off her new pump!

Hanging Love Mittens

I LOVE the new Framed Tulips embossing folder from the new mini! It makes the greatest frame for any card and is a real must have!
Here is my Love You Much Hanging Mittens card. I used the Butterfly punch and Scallop Oval punch to make the mittens! You can see how I did it below.

How to make the mittens:
Punch out a butterfly and cut it in half.

I drew the mitten shape on with pencil so I would have a guide for cutting. I cut one out and then the other so I would have a matching pair of perfect mittens! For the end of the mitten I used the Scallop Oval punch for the edge and then just cut a small strip and glued it on the edge of the mitten shape.

To make the rack that the mittens are hanging off, I just cut a scrap of paper and drew on it with marker for the wood grain. The pegs are using the large hole on the Crop-a-dile and put on with Dimensionals.

Ribbon Blossom Card

If you guys are like me you have a ton of old ribbon lying around just waiting to be used. I seem to collect the stuff and then save it for the perfect project. Needless to say I have a lot! So I thought this was the perfect project to use some of that for!
I used the Love you Much stamp set and the rest is using seven different kinds of ribbon for the blossom. This is definitely not a card to put in an envelope and mail!

Valentine Ribbon Weave Heart

I used the same ribbon technique that I used on my Christmas tree card on this heart card for Valentines Day. I used the Music Notes roller for the background and I used the Big Shot with the Serif Essentials alphabet for the love. ( The heart for the "o" is using the Heart to Heart punch.)

CLICK HERE to see how to do this technique!

Bowmaker Dimensions

Sorry I have been MIA lately but the holidays have been busy and hectic but wonderful! The kids are at the perfect age to celebrate this year and I haven't had time for anything else, especially since they are home from school for winter break!
Stay tuned because I will get back to normal posting soon!

I have gotten a ton of emails asking for the dimensionas of the bowmaker that my mother made and I gave to my downline this year. Instead of replying to every email I am just going to post it on here!
The main block is 6" x 2-1/2" x 3/4".
The dowels are 1/4" diameter and about 3" long. The holes in the block are about 1/2" apart but some are random so you can make bows in different lengths then 1/2" increments.
Hope that helps! I'm sure just about any size would work as long as you have the same general layout.

Downline Gift - Bow maker!

I thought I would share the holiday gifts that I made for my Stampin' Up downline this year! I really have to give credit to my mother because she is the one who made these for me. We have seen them everywhere online to buy and thought we would make some ourselves. (When I say "we", I really mean my mom made them and I cheered her on and gave moral support from Vermont.)
Thanks Mommo! Your the best!
CLICK HERE for the directions we came up with to use the bow maker if you want to make your own!
