Woven Ribbon Birthday Card

I found this great card on Laure Lipe's Blog and just had to make my own version, so here it is! I did this as a birthday card for our wonderful school nurse. It uses a lot of ribbon, but it really comes out nice. I used the 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon to make mine. You can use whatever ribbon you have, you just have to make the card you wrap it around the right size.
I love the little charms!
I used the Elementary Elegance stamp set from Sale-a-Bration to make this card. Something about using a completely free stamp set makes the card even better. Don't you think?

Valentine Ribbon Weave Heart

I used the same ribbon technique that I used on my Christmas tree card on this heart card for Valentines Day. I used the Music Notes roller for the background and I used the Big Shot with the Serif Essentials alphabet for the love. ( The heart for the "o" is using the Heart to Heart punch.)

Ribbon Weave Christmas Tree

Here is my Ribbon Weave Christmas Tree card! A long time ago I made the wedding card shown below so I thought, why not do the same type of technique with a Christmas tree!
Here is a close up of the finished tree. I used SU rhinestones for the ornaments and just colored them with a permanent marker on the top. I love this technique!

Here is the bride card I made a long time ago.

Here is how I made the woven tree:
I stamped the tree from the Season of Joy stamp set and then cut out the center with a craft knife leaving the small border of white on the inside of tree image.
On the back I used Snail adhesive to surround the tree and cut strips of 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. I alternated going back and forth across the back of the paper trying to keep where they cross going down the center.

Once its finished this is what the front will look like. Then I put the rhinestones on.

Ribbon Frame

I made this for challenge #52 for the Late Night Stampers Group, which was to do something good with ribbon. This is a great group, if you want to see about joining CLICK HERE!
I used the Smarty Pants stamp set which I love and just wrapped a cut out cardstock circle frame with ribbon. Where the ends met I put the bow over it. So simple!

Woven Valentine Heart Card

I thought I would use the woven wreath design to make something else. To see how to make the weave CLICK HERE.
This did take a lot of ribbon. I did two separate halves and each half took 5 feet of 1/4" Red Grosgrain ribbon! I wove them slightly off center so I would have enough left over to tie the bow. They are kept down on the paper with large and small glue dots. For the scalloped background to fit on the regular card size I used a 4.75" x 6" whisper white paper and used the scallop edge punch on all the sides.

Here are the two halves before I put them down on the paper and ties the bow.

Pratt Door Ribbon Wreath

I did a search on splitcoast after I posted my other wreath and found one of a door with a wreath. I knew I had to put my own spin on it. Here is the one that I found.

And here is mine!
I had to make a little Pratt sign on my door. This is a standard card size so you just open the door to see the inside! CLICK HERE to see how to do this.
Ok... I have had enough stamping for one day. I am going to bed. Goodnight.

Ribbon Diagonal Weave for Baby!

So since I had my ribbon out I thougth I would try someting else this morning. I have to admit, getting the weave done on this card did take a long time, but I think it was worth it in the end. So cute for a new baby!
My square is 3 1/2" and I just put snail all the way around the perimeter on the back. I wrapped the ribbon around in one direction and then just weaved the other way through on the diagonal. I attached it to the scallop square with sticky strip. Then just used a sponge with Pretty in Pink for the border. They saying is from Warm Words.

Ribbon Weave Wreath

I am so excited about this card! I love it! I just found a video showing how to do this great technique. When I was a kid I made bracelets this way all the time and someone thought to make it into a wreath! I used Always Artichoke 1/4" grosgrain ribbon for the wreath and Real Red for the bow. The wreath ends up being 3" across. I did use the 6 feet like it said in the video and it came out perfectly. The red dots are red brads just pushed through the ribbon, I thought this would look great with the red rhinestone brads but I don't have any. The white is using the Scallop Circle #2 die cut and the large card is cut using the Scallop Square die cut. The sentiment is in Basic Black using the Holiday Best hostess set. And of course Serene snowflakes, the small one with three snowflakes, in Whisper White craft for the background. I glued the wreath on using the large glue dots and popped up the white scallop with dimensionals.
I thought this would make the cutest ornaments too!
