Clothesline Thank You Card

Here is my Clothesline Thank You Card! I have a friend who so generously gives us her sons old clothes for Timmy. These clothes are great and Timmy loves to be wearing "Brett's clothes", it's so cute! This is the thank you card that I made for her. I thought this could also be an adorable baby card with onesies on the line. I'm sure that's going to be my next one, so check back soon!
Here is how I made it:
I scored a 12" x 4-3/8" piece of Bashful Blue cardstock at 4-1/4" in from both sides. This makes the middle section 3-1/2". I then folded it and centered it in the scallop square die on the Big Shot to get my main card shape.

Then I used the 2-1/2" Circle Punch in the center square as far up as it could go. Then I folded over each side one at a time, and used the center as a guide to punch the other two.
To make the airplane I used the Large Oval and Word Window punches. I did not take good pictures while I was doing this, so I will do another one with better instructions. I basically just trimmed each piece a bit to get it the length I wanted. Check back for better directions to come soon!

For the clothes I used the template below and printed it out on Whisper White cardstock and colored them in. The I used twine for the clothes line and the new mini clothespins to keep the clothes on. The twine is attached with Mini Glue Dots and then I used the Cupcake punch to make the clouds and cover them up. The "thanks" is from the Word Play stamp set and just cut into a banner shape.

Nurse's Box & 3" x 3" Cards

Tomorrow, Friday May 6th, kicks off National Nurses Week!
School Nurses Day is next Wednesday May 11th. I thought this would be a great project to honor those nurse's who make a difference in our lives! Those of you who frequent my blog know of our wonderful school nurse, Mandy Mayer, who has been instrumental in our lives dealing with Ashley's diabetes. We could not do it without her!
You can also change the colors of the scrub shirt and make them into little doctor shirts! This is the perfect gift for anyone in the medical field!
The box is approximately 3 3/4" square and easily fits 15 or more cards and envelopes!

Chiropractor Thank You

I made this card as a thank you for the new Chiropractor that I have started to go to. He is great! (If any of you are in the area, his name is Dr. Bruce Steinberg located in Queensbury, NY)

I made the skeleton on the card from my Halloween Punch Three Card Class that you see below. I used brads to hold all the joints together so you could move him around, just like I can now that I have been seeing Dr. Bruce!
He is only attached to the card at one rib/brad spot so he can move all around.

Taxes Thank You

I have been trying to come up with a card to thank my father for doing my taxes this year (Yes, that's right, I am 30 years old, with a family of my own, and my wonderful father still does my taxes).
I came up with this card, and I am pretty happy with it. I printed a 1040 tax form, that I made smaller off the computer, onto Ivory card stock and then sponged the edges. I thought about the Boston Tea Party and the beginning of taxes so I made tea boxes and then faux wood-grained them with markers and then stamped TEA on them.

I used the Heartfelt Thanks stamp set for the Thanks on the front and then shaded the letters with a marker to make them stand out more.

I made a little pocket with tea bags to go on the inside too!

Build-a-Cupcake Hot Air Balloon!

Doesn't this card just give you happy thoughts? This is not my normal color scheme but I really like how it came out!
I used the Build-a-Cupcake punch to make the clouds and I used the bottom of the cupcake shape, cut down a bit, to make the hot air balloon basket! The hot air balloon top is using the 2-1/2" Circle punch with the sides slimmed down to give it the balloon shape with the Ice Cream Parlor ribbon from Sale-A-Bration going around it.
I used the So Happy For You stamp set from Sale-A-Bration as well as the Small Oval punch and Hodgepodge hardware for the sentiment.

I also just realized that I have never made a post about the Sale-A-Bration special that is going on now!
You don't want to miss this great time to order Stampin' Up merchandise. And don't forget, for every $50 purchase you make with me, you not only get a FREE Sale-A-Bration item but you also get a FREE TUTORIAL from me of your choice!

Framed Tulip Embossing Folder - Varied Sizes!!

I found this great technique using the Framed Tulip Embossing Folder to make any size frame!! You can find this great tutorial on the Created By You blog! Genius!
I used the Fast & Fabulous stamp set with Regal Rose and Wild Wasabi ink (with a blender pen) for the image. I used the occasional Quotes stamp set for the sentiment with the Large Oval Punch and Scallop Oval Punch.
I also used the bow maker to make the bow!

And... Still More Block Backgrounds

Ok... so you are probably sick of these acrylic block background cards but I am having some fun with them. For this one I used the edges of the ink pad to make the lines on the block before I stamped it. I thought it gave it a little bit of a different look.
I used the Just Believe stamp set for this with the large block and Crumb Cake ink. I used the Modern Label Punch and the Word Window Punch for the sentiment with Elegant Eggplant and Very Vanilla card stock.
Here is a close up of the grass. I stamped it twice and cut it out and popped it up.

Gift for School Nurse

Align CenterHere is the gift that I made for Ashley's school nurse. This woman is absolutely amazing and I honestly don't know how I would manage Ashley's diabetes without her. If any of you know somewhere you can nominate a school nurse or teacher for any awards let me know! She's that great.

The quotation that I found is:
When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry,
Show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.

and I added at the end:
You are one of my reasons to smile. Thank you.

Then I used pictures from my husband and my anniversary trip hiking in the high peaks in the Adirondack Mountains and I just changed the color of them to match the brown ink I sponged on the quote.
Here is the card that I made to go with it.
I love the All in the Family stamp set and yes, I have all of the accessory sets also!

Doctor Thank You Card

I made this card to send as a thank you to the wonderful staff that helped us through my daughters ordeal at Yale Hospital. I really can not say enough about the doctors and nurses and staff there. They were wonderful and made an impossible situation
seem manageable.
I used Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler and Pacific Point card stock and the All in the Family, Family Business and Afterthoughts (hostess) stamps sets. For punches I used the Decorative Label, Modern Label and Word Window punches.
