The Outlwaz Greeting Card Challenge~Make it Vintage

Hello I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and were able to spend some time with your families.  I have been enjoying spending time with my family which is why I haven't been posting here this last week.  This week at The Outlawz Greeting Card we card challenging you to make it vintage.  Now Vintage is something I am not comfortable with so this was a true challenge for me.

Here is my card,
I used Timeless Treasures from Gina K Designs.  This set is now retired, but if you are quick there is a sale that ends at Midnight on this set and others wonderful sets that are retiring.  I stamped the sentiment in Memento Espresso Truffle then I stamped the image in Rich Cocoa that I had stamped off one time.

I wish you a very Happy New Year!!!!!

Thank you for stopping by.

Merry and Bright

Hello it is time for another challenge at the Greeting Card Challenge at The Outlawz.  This week the challenge it Trick or Treat. Which is to show a trick you use in card making and it will be a treat for the rest of us.

Here is my card.
My trick is an easy way to make a corner bow.  It is something I learned from my sister Theresa Momber.

I used poinsettia and Pine form Flourishes and colored it with copics.  I will also be entering this card into Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge to Think Pink,  Copic Oz's challenge to make a Pink Project and use copics and finally Ooazk's challenge to use a die cut.

Here is a little tutorial on how I make my corner bows.

I start with an ink pad and tie and bow around it.

Depending on where you want to place it on your card if you use the short side or the long side. The next step is to cut the bow off of the ink pad.  Don't be afraid, but remember after you cut it you will not be able to re work the bow so make sure you have the bow the way you want it before you cut.  Dont' ask how I know this.  You will be left with a bow that looks like this.
Notice I have long tails.  I like to have plenty of ribbon to allow for me to cut the ends to the length I want when my card it finished.  Cutting the ends is the last thing I do when making a card.  To attach the bow to the card I use scor tape and using the back ribbon lengths I glue them down.  It looks like this.
So that is my trick. Well it is my sisters trick, but one I use all the time and has been very helpful.

I hope you can play along with us this week at The Greetings Card Challenge.  We have three wonderful sponsors this month so you have a chance at winning some fab goodies, see below.  And don't forget to check out the rest of the design teams cards.  Thank you for stopping by.

Timeless Treasures Blog Hop

Tonight we are having a special blog hop featuring Theresa Momber newest stamp set from Gina K Designs. The set is called Timeless Treasures and it is a beautifully drawn set and prefect for vintage scrap booking as well as great for making cards.

For my project I decided to make a little memory box. I followed the directions for a 3X3 box I found on SplitCoast Stampers. For the cameo to fit I needed to make a slight change to the sizes. Mine is a 3 1/2X 3 1/2 . For the base I started with 5 1/2 square piece of card stock, and scored at 1 inch on all for sides. The top is 4 3/4 inch square of designer paper and scored at 3/4 inch on all four sides. I colored the cameo with Koh-I-Noor pencils and OMS. I know hard to believe that I didn't use copics, but I couldn't get the look I was wanting with them. The gorgeous burgundy paper is a suede card stock I found at my local scrap book store. The fleurs-de-lis is an EK Success punch that I embellished with a tiny pearl. I used a Martha Stewart boarder punch to finish the edges of the lid, then I added some decorative braid that I bought at JoAnn's. I hope you enjoyed my project today.
