The Cuttlebug Spot- Spring is in the Air

Hello it is time for another The Cuttlebug Spot challenge. The theme this time is Spring is in the air.
When I see daffodils for the first time each year I know that Spring is close so I knew I wanted to use them on my card. I love yellow and green together and it makes for a great color combo with the daffodils. I also used this week sketch from Card Positioning Systems.  Make sure to head over to The Cuttlebug Spot to see the gorgeous creations from my team mates.  I hope you can play along.  Thank you for stopping by.

Sending you Sunshine

Hello and Happy Memorial weekend to all in the US.  I have a super short post for you this morning as my DH is taking me out to breakfast ans is waiting ever so patiently on me to get this posted. A few weeks back O bought some sticky back canvas ATC's and couldn't wait to try coloring with copics on it.  It didn't come out as well as I had hoped, the copisc tend to bleed.  After coloring the daffodils I was stumped on how tomake it into a card.  So this image has been sitting on my craft table just waiting to be made into to something.  For some reason in the photo I noticed that the pearls don't look straight, I assure you that they are.  I managed to work in four challenges into this card which I have listed below.   One of the challenges is a shabby chic card, well this is not my style and I really struggle with it.  I am not so sure that this is very close at all, but it is what it is.  I hope you have a  fabulous weekend.  Thank you for stopping by.

Challenges
  1. StampTV: Shabby Chic
  2. SplitCoast Stampers: Inspiration Here what I used for my inspiration
  3. Card Positioning Systems- Sketch
  4. StampSomething- Something Sentimental

A fun new challenge

About a month ago a new challenge blog started called Desert Islands Crafts Challenge.  It sounded fun to me so I gave it a try.  The challenges are based on an itinerary of ten items.  For you project you need to use at least three of the items on the itinerary.  Well, I was the lucky winner of the first challenge.  What did I win you ask?  I get to pick the itinerary for a future challenge.  This happens to be my week.  Here are my ten itinerary items.

1.   Make it Square
2.   Inspired by Nature
3.   Handmade flower
4.   Hand colored image
5.   2 or more patterned papers
6.   Pearls
7.   Twine
8.   No sentiment on the front
9.   Distressing
10. Birthday Theme

Here is the card I made

I was able to work in seven items on the itinerary. Make it square, inspired by nature, hand colored image, two or more patterned papers, pearls, twine (mine is bakers twine), and no sentiment on the front. I hope you are intrigued by this new challenge and want to give it a try.

Happy Wednesday!!!!  First off I have to say that you all have made some of the most beautiful projects for last weeks challenge.  Thank you to all who played along, I am so glad you liked that wonderful bright room and were able to find inspiration in it.

For this week I took to the outdoors with a beautiful photo from a Bed and Breakfast.

Here is  the site that I found this beauty it is a registry for Bed and Breakfast Inns called Pamela Lanier's Bed and Breakfast Inns.

I was so inspired by this photo that I made two cards to share with you.  For the first one I made a more complicated card with a scene.  I was inspired by the path with the mossy ground and fallen leaves/flowers.

Stamps: The Journey, Sending You Sunshine, Enjoy The Sunshine
Paper: Pure Luxury Heavy weight Ivory, Fresh Asparagus
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Summer Sun, new Sprout, Bamboo Leaves, copics

Next I made a much more simple card and used the red/pink flowers in the photo for my inspiration.

Stamps: Enjoy The Sunshine
Paper: Pure Luxury Heavy Weight White, Lipstick Red, Basic Grey Nook And Pantry
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics

I look forward to seeing how this photo inspires you.

Sending You Sunshine

I finally had time to stamp last night and today.  I have to say that I really needed some creative time after a hard week at work.  Dang it was good to get inky again.  So for my card today I combined a couple of challenges as I like to do.  The first one is for Card Positioning Systems sketch #170.  The second one is for Linda's Blast from the Past challenge on StampTV to use colored pencils and OMS.  Finally the last challenge is for Stamp Something's Happy Something's.  It was nice to get my colored pencils out again and use them, since I started getting Copics I have neglected my pencils.  Card details below.  I will be back later today or tomorrow with another card.  Thank you for stopping by.

Just Us Girls DT Try Out

They are having a Design Team call for Just Us Girls and this is my entry.  The challenge is to make an item using a template and a card using the sketch they provided.  I used Sending Sunshine from Gina K Designs for my card and Slip Cover box template from My Time Made Easy. I have all of the supplies used listed below.

For the images on both the card and the box I started by stamping the daffodils and coloring them with copics.  Then I masked them and using post it notes I masked off for the horizon and sponged the sky and then flipped the post its and sponged the ground.  The foliage was added last by inking with bamboo leaves and stamping off two times before stamping on my image panel.  The butterflies were added last and inked with danube blue and stamped off twice before stamping on the image panel.

The template for the slider box can be found here at My Time Made Easy.  Wow if you have never tried one of these templates you should.  The download is very fast and easy, plus they are very reasonable priced.  The box was fast and easy to put together.  All I did was add the stamped panel and some ribbon with a button accent. Thank you for stopping by.

I am also entering this card and box into a few challenges. First for Clearly i Stamp to create a project using flowers.  The second challenge is for Gina's inspiration challenge on StampTV.  Finally for the Speedy the Cats Friends challenge #2 over on  Mark's Finest Papers, to use a corner punch on your card.

May Flowers

I made my first card for VSN on SplitCoast Stampers!!  Theresa is hosting a challenge called May Flowers, to pop up you flower.  Easy enough, except you have to make your card in 45 minutes or less.  For me that can be a problem, I often take hours to make a card.  This time though I did some planning before I started and wow it helped I finished just in time and managed to squeeze one other challenge in.  By starting with the sketch challenge from CPS (cps163) I was about it really speed it up.  I will be doing more of these challenges what a fun way to get and get a card done.
Here is a close up of the popped up flowers.

I would like to thank everyone for the well wishes.  My allergies are starting to ease up which is helping me to feel better.  Thank you so much for stopping by.
