Cheers!

Hello I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Well it is Monday so that means it is time for another Greeting Card Challenge over at The Outlwaz. This weeks challenge is Chillers, Show us how you chill out in the summer heat. One of my favorite ways to keep cool is to drink something nice and cold so I picked a drink image for my card.
I used two sets from Gina K Designs that Theresa Momber illustrated call Sweet Strawberries and Aloha. I colored the drink with copics and then mask it and sponged the sky, water and sand in with Memenot inks. Now head over to The Outlawz and check all the details and the gorgeous cards from the rest of the design team. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic week.

StampTV CSS Sketch Hop

Hello, it is time for another StampTV CSS Alumni blog hop. You should have arrived here from incredibility talented Cheri.  If you get lost along the way you can get the entire list of hop participants at StampTV.

This month Melissa has this fabulous sketch for us to use.

 And here is my card.

I used Aloha from Gina K Designs which is wonderful set for tropical cards.  I started off by sponging in the sky, water and sand then I stamped the palm tree and island.  For the Aloha sentiment I stamped it using a stamp positioner and then moved it slightly and without re inking I stamped it again. This gave a great shadow effect.  I had never tried this technique on a sentiment and was very happy with how it turned out.

Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (April 24), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs and that person will receive a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Designs Stamps!

Your last stop is the fabulously creative Betty.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Go Barefoot

Hello I hope you had a very happy day how ever you celebrate.  My card today is for Cat's challenge for the release party on StampTV for Gina K Designs.  Cat's challenge is to use something that you wouldn't normally use on a card.  I scoured through the house and a couple of times in DH's garage and still was stumped.  I couldn't find anything to stimulate my creativity then I remember years ago when DS was a toddler he had a sandbox and being always the crafty one I took a small container and filled it with some of the clean sand before it went into the box.  I have had it for years (DS is almost 21), but I couldn't find it.  Late last night DS was working on his truck out in the garage and found my container of sand, yay.  Now I was faced with how I wanted to use it on a card.   This is the best I could come up with.  Not really that happy with it, but hey it is what it is.  I used two strips of ScorTape and then pressed the sand down into the tape.  I wish you a wonderful week.  I have to work some, but hopefully I will get done quickly and have the rest of the week off for our Spring Break.  I have been on a huge Kraft kick lately and will be entering this into The Spotted Chick's challenge to use Kraft on your project.   Thank you for stopping by.

The Cuttlebug Spot - All Tied Up!

Happy Tuesday!!!  It is time for another The Cuttlebug Spot challenge.  This week we are challenged to use twine or string on your creation.  Many of you already know by now that I love twine so this was easy peasy for me.

A couple of months ago Theresa posted this card and I knew I wanted to do something like it. So this week I was thinking that the scene Theresa had created reminded me of a postcard and that is what I was trying for.
Be sure to check out the fabulously talented design team creations and  I hope you can play along for a chance to win a great prize.

I am also entering this into the challenge on Crazy 4 Challenges.  Their challenge this week is in honor of International Earth Day on March 20th.  The challenge is to use a tree on your challenge.

Thank you for stopping by.

Toucan

Tonight I am showing you a card I made earlier this week for the sketch challenge on StampTV.  I used Theresa Momber's set Aloha from Gina K Designs.  This is a wonderful set and one of my very faves of Theresa's and is so much fun to work with..  I colored the toucan with copics and then cut out the circle with a nestie, before removing from the die I lightly sponged the yellow background in. The flowers are cut and place on the circle. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Gina K Designs Design Team Challenge

Well it is that time again, when Gina post her challenge to win a spot as a Guest Designer.  This month she challenged us to use a technique from one of her videos on StampTV.  If you haven't watch any of these videos then you are in for a treat.  Gina does an fantastic job showing how to do all types of neat techniques.  I picked Nestabilites Highlighting.  I took the highlighting a step farther and used some post it notes to create a scene background.  After sponging the sand, sea and sky I gave it some texture with the sand stamp from the Aloha stamp set.  I also use a white gel pen to make some waves in the sea.  I also used the sketch from this weeks sketch challenge on StampTV.  Thank  you for stopping by.

Mahalo

Hello everyone I hope you are having a fabulous weekend.  Too bad it is nearly over, as the weather here has been gorgeous!!  I am finally starting to feel better I can't beleive how much that sinus/eye infection took it out of me.  I made this card for a couple of challenges the first being for Copic Creations to color a bird, well as soon as I saw that challenge I knew that I wanted to ink up one of the birds from Theresa's newest set Aloha.  I also used the colors from Carla's color challenge on StampTV.   Which I am barely getting in before the deadline.  The colors for the challenge are orange, green and turquoise ad hard combo for me until I releazied that it is a perfect combo for a tropical card.  I wish you all a wonderful week.  Thank you for stopping by.
