The Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge~Case the Design Team

Hello Happy Monday!  It is time for another challenge from The Greeting Card Challenge at The Outlawz.  This week the challenge is to case the design team.  I picked the following gorgeous card from Penny Mull.

My take on Penny's beautiful card.

I changed the image, papers and added a sentiment.  The image is Hugs and Kisses from Saturated Canary.  I didn't have that wonderful die so I used some silk ribbon to give the added focal point.  I also didn't add as many flowers as Penny did.  Thank you Penny for such a gorgeous inspiration card.  Make sure you head over to The Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge and check out the rest of the design teams fantastic creations.  I hope you can join us this week.
I will be entering this card into the following challenges.
Thank you for stopping by.

California Poppies

Today I have a card I using Melanie's set Stately Flowers 1 form Gina K Designs. I really am enjoying coloring these poppies. I couldn't find any plaid paper (which was needed of the StampTV Facebook challenge) in my enormous piles of patterned paper so I had to get creative.  I found some pink and green plaid from Basic Greys Olivia and then sponged the entire sheet with memento's cantaloupe ink.  I was a little surprised how well it matched.  I am entering this into the following challenges, StampTV's Facebook challenge to us plaid and Card Patterns sketch. Thank you for stopping by.

Wishing You a Happy New Year!

Today I have another card I made for Suzanne's challenge over at Color Me Creative Classroom. It is an inspiration challenge (which I love) and to use the colors gold, ivory and white.
I also entered this into the Try a New Technique challenege- Let's Get Wet and The Clean and Simple challenge- Beverages both from SCS.   The champagne is colored with copics.  To make bubbles for my champagne I used glossy accents and while it was still wet I sprinkled a few glass beads into it. When the glossy accents is dry it looks like some very bubbly bubbly, LOL. Thank you for stopping by.

Before I get to my projects I have to say that I am very excited as this is my first official blog hop as a senior design team member for Mark's Finest Paper's.  For today we are sharing samples made with Peaceful Nuthatch.  I have to say I love the cute little nuthatch and have so much fun coloring it.  For my first card I used the larger of the two images and used colored pencils with OMS.  After cutting out the image with a nestabilities die and before removing it from the die, I sponged with memento new sprout and bamboo leaves.
Next I stole an idea from my mom (Geri)  and made a snow globe that I bought at Michaels.
And here is the other side.

Please hop along with us! You have a chance to win one of the above stamp sets! Just comment on the following blogs (don't forget this one), each day! We will announce all three winners on Thanksgiving Day. You can go back and comment if you missed a day. The winners will be chosen at 11PM EST on Wednesday November 23, 2011.

Speedy The Cat's Friends Challenge- 12 Days of Christmas

Hello it is time for another challenge from Speedy The Cat's Friends Challenge. This week we are joining in on the 12 Days of Christmas Hop that Mark's Finest Papers is having. For my project I chose to do an acetate box. I had one on hand that I had bought a few years ago and used it.
This is super simple and quick to make. I took a strip of card stock that was 12 inches long and then wrapped it around the box to get where I needed to score for the folds. I wrapped that with some jute ribbon. For the focal piece I used this wonderful winter scene from Christmas in the Country from Mark's Finest Papers. I colored with copics and then sponged in the sky. I finished up by matting it and then attaching it to the band.

I hope you can play along with us this week.  One person will win a stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers and if you use a stamp from Mark's Finest Papers you will get your name put in twice.  Thank you for stopping by.

Follow Your Dreams

Hello I would like to start off by saying I am sorry for being such a bad blogger.  I haven't posted in in week, yikes!  I was out of town for all of the 4th of July weekend and did get a couple of post in, but with returning and getting life back in order at home and dealing with my allergies I didn't' do much of anything crafty.  Over the 4th I was able to spend time with my mom (Geri) and my sister (Theresa) stamping.  I love stamping with them.  So on to my card I made if for a few challenges first off, MoJo Sketch ( I love this sketch and plan on using it again) this week and I am just getting in under the wire.  Next for Cat's challenge on StampTV to swipe on swipe off, which is to take an ink pad ans swipe it across you paper.  Next up is for Stamp Somethings challenge to use butterflies or bugs.  Finally I am entering it into Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge, What works for you.  I have a ton of ideas for cards and I hope that I can get to them this week.  Thank you for stopping by.

Have a Lovely Day

Well guess what I last night just before I went to bed I saw that Faith is hosting the sketch this week on SCS and it is a good one.  I knew right away that I wanted to make something using it, but I had to get to bed and work this morning so I couldn't get to it until tonight.  Boy it is hard to focus on things that you  have to do when all I wanted to do was head into my room and get inky. I am entering this into Speedy the Cat's challenge to make it sparkle and into Our Creative Corner to show your style.  Thank you for stopping by.

Clean and Simple Card

Today I have a card I made for today's clean and simple challenge on SCS to use red, black and white.  Before I checked out the challenge this morning I was already thinking of Friday's challenge on StampTV to case design team member AJ.  I have been a long time fan of AJ's work in fact I first starting following her work back when Unity first started.  AJ's style is very much CAS so I thought why not combine the tow challenges.  Here is the beautiful card of AJ's I picked.  I had to change at least two things I kept is very close to AJ's design and only changed the lower part and adding the small row of black rhinestones.  It was a super fast card to make.

I have to share that earlier today I was picked by the StampTV talent scout on Facebook.  I am super excited to have been chosen. I have a pretty new badge on my side bar with a  link to my StampTV gallery.  Thank you for stopping by.

Happiness

I am back with another card.  This one is for today's featured stamper on SCS, Claudia.  I choose this card to case.  The changed the papers and colored and then glittered the butterfly ootherwise it is a pretty straightforward case.  I am also entering this card into Speedy the Cat's challenge this week to make it sparkle.  I think that my missing mojo may have returned as I am finally feeling like making cards again.  I have another idea for a card for a few challenges that I hope to start on tonight and maybe if all goes as planned have it done tomorrow.  Thank you for stopping by.

Flowers

First off I would like to apologize for my extended absence.  I have been super busy with the end of the school year.  I only have 7 more days until summer vacation.  I do have to work some during the summer, but I am lucky enough to pick when and how long.  I have to say I am looking forward to sleeping in and having my stamping time back. Okay enough of my blabbering you are here to see my card.  I made this one for several challenges listed below.  The one that got me started on this card was the one for Speedy The Cat's challenge to put a 3D flower on your creation.  For my flower I used three different sizes of marvy flower punches stacked them all together held  together with a brad  and them misted them with water and scrunched the petals up and waited for it to dry.  I was able to visit with my mom over the weekend and we played around with her stamps.  The leaves are from Mark's Finest Papers set Autumn Fun and the sentiment is from Natures Postage. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous rest of the week.

Happy May Day

Last night as I was falling of to sleep I realized that today is May Day.  I remember when I was young making may flowers baskets to give to my mom on May Day.  That got me to thinking and I decided that today I would make a door hanger in honor of May Day.  I started with a drink coaster from Outback Steak House that I have had forever.  I covered the coaster with paper from Echo Park For the Record.  Next I inked the edges with always artichoke ink.  The sentiment is one I won a few weeks ago form Creative Vision, thank you Laura. As I was finishing up I decided that that this wasn't working the way I wanted for a door hanger and decided that I would make it a magnet instead.  Now as usual I am also entering this into a few challenges which I have listed below. I hope you have a fabulous week.  Thank you for stopping by.

Challenges
  1. Creative Clear Stamps: Altered Gifts
  2. Lets Ink It Up: Embellish It
