What's White and a Bit Sparkly?

Hello lovelies - I've been a bit of a slacker for a couple of days. Well I haven't really, I've just had a lot of work on my desk which I needed to focus on.

But I hope you are all safe and well.

So the card I'm sharing today was made using the new Tonic Studios Special Occasions dies which are available over at Create and Craft or if you want to hang on, you'll be able to get them from Tonic or other retailers from 4th December, so not long now.

I've added my affiliate links at the bottom so if this is something you'd like,  you can always nip over and leave your email address so you can be notified when they will ship.

For this card, I used just the largest outside edge die to create the card base, and the centre sentiment bit from the die set.

You may have noticed that it's a bit sparkly!!
Well that's because I added quite a bit of bling to it in the form of glitter.

Just to give you the heads up, Tonic have a huge sale on at the mo for all things sparkly and shiny - loads of serious bargains to be had. And again, my affiliate links to that bit on the websites are below - honestly it's worth a peek!!

I went around the edge of the frame with a glue pen.
The tip of the glue pen is perfect for this and you get a nice straight edge.

The glitter strips are just strips of double sided tape laid over the card, the backing tape removed and the glitter sprinkled on.

I think glitter card can be expensive so why not make your own!!

Finally I just went around the edge of the framed bit with some Nuvo Drops.

So there's the card and I hope you like it.
You could easily change up the colours and it'd give you a completely different look.

Right, I better get back to my shed.
Not sure if I told you this but since I am now retired and officially a layabout, I've treated myself to a crafty space in the form of a summer house.

Well that's what the sales bods called it.
I call it my shed.

If I ever get it tidy, I'll take pics and share!!

Take care and please stay safe and well. I think there's light at the end of the Covid tunnel for us all so we just have to hang on in there.

Huggiest of hugs xx

Fab Bags

Good morning crafty peeps and I hope that you are all OK today.

The cards I’m sharing today aren’t cards at all.
They are sweet bags which I made using the beautiful
Tonic Studios Chelsea Shoulder Bag die.

Now I can promise you that when your die arrives, you will not want to put it down, these are very VERY addictive.

Not only are they addictive to make but they are super easy to use and put together as well, and as you might expect, very versatile too.

So ….

DSCN1492 copy_thumb[2]

… this is the first one.

I actually used fabric to make this and it cuts like a dream.
What you need to do is get some iron on interfacing or bonder and iron it on the reverse of the fabric – don't use the steam setting on the iron – then you are just about good to go. Place the fabric side against your cutting plate and the die on top of the interfacing and run it through the machine.

I used the outside edges only here.
The fabric had different shades so I used the lighter shade for the flap and the darker for the body of the bag.

I cut the same outside edges using card and just stuck the fabric pieces on to them. It could not have been quicker to make.

DSCN1491 copy_thumb[3]

I used Velcro to fasten the bag and the clasp is just a button I found – I just cut the shank off and glued it on with a hot glue gun.

The second bag  …..

DSCN1489 copy_thumb[2]

… is this one here – very different but again it’s easy peasy.

This fabric is a very sheer and again I used the iron on backing. It gives a lighter look as you can see the backing through the fabric but I didn't mind at all.

This time, I used plain card for the sides and the corners and I covered them with some Nuvo Charcoal Glitter.

DSCN1488 copy_thumb[2]

Again I used Velcro to fasten and I added a button and a bit of white tulle which I got from The Ribbon Girl. Then to finish off, I went around the edges with some Nuvo Pearl White Crystal Drops.

I am sooo going to make some more of these.
Don't you think they would look fabulous as a holder for those little plastic gift cards you buy in the supermarkets? I hate just shoving them inside a card!!

So that’s today’s share and I hope you like them. I have made one using card which I’ll show you next time.

Have a lovely day and a great weekend and crafty hugs to all xxx

Shoes To DIE For : )

Hiya sweet peeps and hope everybody is OK -  wasn't it a hot one yesterday. Phew!!!!!

It’s a bit less humid this morning which is all good : )

The card I’m sharing today is another one from yesterday’s Tonic Studios POTD and this one features the GORGEOUS Rococo Lace Stiletto die. I would LOVE a pair of shoes like this but sadly I wouldn’t be able to walk in them : (

I’m a Cat Boots and Uggs sort of girlie!!!

DSCN1462 copy_thumb[2]

I cut the die out of black card and I embossed it – the detail is lost in these photos as the card is dark,  but the embossing is amazing.
Then I stuck them down onto red card and undercut them. I added some  Nuvo Ruby Red Glitter to the little flowers on the front and added a little gem.
Then I stuck a length of black ribbon to the back and glued it down onto the striped background, which is 1” strips of black and white card glued onto a scrap of white card then matted onto red card.

DSCN1460 copy_thumb[2]

Check out those heels – wow!!!

And I just printed out the sentiment – you can add anything you like.

DSCN1461 copy_thumb[2]

I finished it off with a red bow and black button and some contrasting Ebony Black and Pearl White Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Have a fabulous day and crafty hugs to everybody,

Dawny xxx

Pretty Pink Heart

Good morning  peeps and I hope that you are having a lovely week so far.

It’s time to head on over to Papertake Weekly and this week our theme is

Ooh So Pretty

and we just want to to make something pretty or add something pretty to your work.

There’s a fab prize from
The Ribbon Girl as well so go and have a butchers if you get a sec xx

The card I’ve made today is a bit special because it’s actually for somebody – often my card aren’t, but this one is.

So ….

… here is is.

It’s another quick and simple card and I’ve used some gorgeous Tonic Studios Dies mixed with some Ribbon Girl pretties.

The older die is the Tonic Studios Affections Insert Die – On Mother’s Day – and I  just cut the largest inside edge  into a piece of white card which I then layered onto some pink before sticking to my card base.

I then used some of the Tonic Heart Stamp and Dies Sets and the pink heart in the centre is cut using the outside edge from the Paisley set, then I cut another one exactly the same in white and added the inside edge from the Floral set

I LOVE how all of these sets works so well together and they are available on pre-order from Crafty Devils .

A bit of pretty here.

I went around the edge with some Nuvo Pearl White Crystal Drops then added a sprinkling of Candy Pink Nuvo Glitter.
I also used the Nuvo Glue pens on part of the heart design and added a bit more there.

Once again I have used one of the tail parts of the Large Lacy Bow set to stamp my sentiment onto.

And WHAT a sentiment – this is from
Set 92 Birthdays & Best Wishes from Lili of The Valley  and it is fabulous value. You get 12 wavy sentiments for only £8. And there’s a cracking Christmas offer on right now as well – go and have a mooch because you snooze you lose peeps lol xx

A pretty little sparkly made with some hot glue and Candy Pink Glitter : )

And those gorgeous bows are made from 25mm Rose Pink No 57 Large Check Gingham ribbon and  9mm White/White Spot Organza ribbon, both of course from The Ribbon Girl.

So that’s my card for today and thank you for stopping by.
Have the fabbiest of days,  whatever you’re doing, and huggiest of  hugs to all,

And Something For The Girls : )

Howdy peeps and it’s another sunny morning here in Chester.
That’s 3 days in a row now!!!

So after the masculine card yesterday, I thought I’d even it up a bit and share one which is a bit more girlie, and ….

DSCN1445 copy_thumb[2]

… it’s this one here.

I made this card up when I was demoing at Bolton and I used creams and whites, and I was quite pleased how it turned out. So I made it up again using pinks : )

I used one of my fave EVER Tonic Studios Dies and this is the beautiful Deco Oval Trellis set.
The base card is an 8x8 and it’s cut  to just over 5 1/2” wide, and I added a pink mat using dimensional pads. Then I cut a slightly smaller piece in white and using the largest inside edge, I ran it through the machine, then stuck it down onto the pink mat, again using dimensionals.

Then I cut another piece from white card using both the outside and inside edges, added some Nuvo Diamond Glitter around the edge using a Nuvo Glue Pen, then I stuck it down onto the card, lining it up carefully with the pattern underneath.

Finally I cut another in pink from the smallest outside edge and added that, again using dimensionals.
LOVE the layers : )

DSCN1446 copy_thumb[4]

I made some little blooms using the flower elements from the Tonic Entwining Trellis Plush Peony Die set.

For the 2 largest flowers, I cut one in white and another from pink using the largest flower die, then I used tweezers to gently curl the edges back before running a ball tool over them to bring the petals up. Then I layered them together. I cut another in white using the second smallest flower and then ran the ball tool over it and then stuck it down.

I made one more using the second largest and the smallest flower dies, which I stuck down onto a bow I’d  made using Mermaid Pale Pink Sparkle Ribbon from The Ribbon Girl.

DSCN1448 copy_thumb[4]

Next I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Pearl White to the edge of the centre pink mat and also the centre of each bloom.

DSCN1449 copy_thumb[3]

Finally I cut a small oval using one of the elements from the Tonic Tent Gift Bag Die Set, stamped one of my beloved Lili of The Valley sentiments onto it then – it’s the Sentiments to Fit Scroll set -  stuck it down.

All the Tonic Studios products I’ve used here are available from Crafty Devils, as is the Papermania Capsule Wild Rose A4 cardstock.

DSCN1444 copy_thumb[7]

And that’s the card all done.

Thank you for stopping by today and enjoy the sunshine.

Huggiest of hugs to all xx

A Brand New One

Good afternoon crafty peeps.
Have you been enjoying the
Tonic Studios shows on Create & Craft?

I thought I’d share one that I made that didn't make it down to Jodie in time but which uses the new dies from the shows, and …

…it’s this one here which uses that ever so gorgeous Petunia Trellis Die set.

I made the base using the larger outside edge and folded it in half so that the 2 petals were even across the bottom.
Then I added one of the elements from the Thinking Of You set before topping it off with  the smaller outside and inside edges from Petunia and the 2 small circles.

The flower was made using the larger of the small Petunia circles.
I just cut three of them cut one round off then joined then together to make as spiral shape before rolling up.
I ran a Nuvo Glue pen over it then sprinkled it with Diamond Nuvo Glitter.

Those pretty leaves are from the Flora Frames Topper Set – I use these loads because they are a nice size and really sweet I think.

A little tail from the Tonic Studios Large Lacy Bow Die Set - a perfect base for your stamped sentiments : )

This sentiment is from Lili of The Valley Sentiments to Fit Scroll set.

The card btw is Papermania Oyster Blush A4 card from Crafty Devils

And there’s my card all done.
I hope you like it and thank you for stopping by.

Enjoy the rest of your day and crafty hugs to all xx

Get Your Shades Out : )

Good morning crafty peeps and I hope that you are having a lovely sunny day today.

Talking of which, the card I’m sharing today is bright and sunny and zingy. I’ve used the new Petunia Trellis Die set and some Nuvo Diamond Glitter which is the Create & Craft POTW , but I do believe they may have sold out now.

So, let’s have a look at the card, and you may need your shades  ….

DSCN14181 copy_thumb[3]

… and here it is in all its funky glory : )

This is such an easy card to put together and there’s dimension in bucket loads here.
But if you’re not a fan or you are concerned about the posting then you could just make this flat.

The gorgeous bow is made from 16mm orange ruffle edged ribbon from The Ribbon Girl.

DSCN14181 copy copy_thumb[2]

So what I did was to cut the outside edge from lime green card and then I ran a Nuvo Glue Pen around the outer edge and added the Diamond glitter. The pen makes it really easy to get a nice even line. Then I cut the outside and inside edges from white card and I cut from one of the inner points into the centre and overlapped the petals. I put some silicone glue into the centre  and stuck down the orange and green centre circles from the set.

The rolled rose was made by cutting a circle in green then rolling it up.
I swiped the edges with the Nuvo Glue Pen and added a bit more Diamond Glitter for good measure.

You could use this for most occasions – you’d just need to change the colours and/or sentiment really.

I hope you like the card and thank you for stopping by today.

Enjoy your weekend and huggiest of hugs to all xxx
